Over the weekend there were eleven minor injuries and one serious in roads in the region. The heaviest clampdown was on drunk driving and over three days, 2,078 breath tests were performed of which 55 were positive, costing drivers points, at least a thousand euro fine and in a number of cases the impounding of their vehicle. Although not operating as many checkpoints this weekend, Trafico will have
units at strategic points and especially where local fiestas and events are being organised, thus the message is clear; don’t drink and drive, and to remember that limits are much lower in Spain than the UK or Ireland. During the weekend Twelve people were injured, one seriously, in the six recorded accidents on the roads of the Region of Murcia, according to data posted by the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT).
