Jane and Hans Lentz and husband imported Finnish-made wooden houses – allegedly unsuitable for the temperature extremes of Spain – to construct for customers and also ran the Lentssons over 50s Resort in La Xara. However, many homes never arrived despite clients paying thousands of pounds in advance and the resort closed after the land owner prevented access when the Lentz’s failed to pay rent. Meanwhile Irish-born Jane – described as the driving force of the company despite her name not appearing as a director - and her husband had left for Finland where they pioneered Lapland Christmas resort within the Arctic Circle – a project that also failed. In August, RTN reported how they were now managing a holiday resort ‘Park Westerkogge’ near Berkhout in Holland. Dutch newspapers discovered the unanswered allegations about their Spanish business and took up the story.

In a short statement issued through lawyers, Jane and Hans maintained that as far as they remembered “all houses were built” and any “accidently” not completed were because of “missing licences to build”. The couple also said that when they left for Finland the business was left to their sons to run – although they left a contact address for all clients. TRAGEDY Diana Lindsay-Vosper said: “It is a blatant lie that everything was built. They have told a pack of lies all along and what happened is an absolute tragedy.” Diana, 78, and her last husband Bob bought land and obtained planning permission to build a Lentssons wooden home near Sax.The house never arrived. Finally, they were forced to sell up and returned to Javea “broke”. Diana estimates the venture – including court fees regarding the non-delivery of the home – “cheated” them of 250,000€.
