Sick of inaction IN MAY, the Orihuela Town Hall announced the opening of a new municipal nursery on the coast, complete with a therapy room for children with special needs. by Louise Clarke This came as great news to parents in Orihuela Costa with children that will benefit from this fabulous new facility, located in Playa Flamenca. However, with only weeks to go until the nursery is due to open, the Town Hall has yet to inform parents on opening dates. This is even more worrying for the parents of children with special needs who were assured that the special therapy room would also open in September. INFIGHTING

RTN met with Leanne and Rick Baker and Alison and Blue Davies Atherton. Both couples have children with special needs and were relying on the opening of this new nursery so that they wouldn’t have to make the 80 kilometre round trip to Orihuela several times a week. “This therapy room was supported by all the Councillors in the Town Hall last year,” said Alison. “But this shouldn’t be about politics, they need to stop the infighting and bickering and do what they promised. The coast needs this facility and I am sick of inaction.” Continued on page 3
