Taffeta goes to the races KENZ BAR in San Luis welcomed a real live horse to their infamous Race Night last Wednesday evening. Ken and Jan Keely are massive supporters of The Easy Horse Care Centre in Rojales. UNSURPRISINGLY, OVER 80% of these visits have been recorded in the new Office of Tourism on the Paseo Vista Alegre , which has become one of the most visited places in the city since its opening in May. What was a surprise was that for the first time, enquiries from French tourists surpassed the British, in the number of visitors to the tourist information offices The new centre of Tourism, located in the former Miramar restaurant and beside Real Club Nautico, saw a visitor increase of 32% over it’s the previous location in the Plaza Capdepont. Torrevieja’s Councillors for Tourism, Luis María Pizana said that “of the visits recorded in August 2013, we have noticed a significant increase in international tourism, who accounted for 60% of all visitors, with the highest number coming from France, who placed in front of the visitors from the UK followed by visitors from Scandinavia, Germany and Belgian tourists.” As for domestic tourism, Pizana indicated that the majority of National visitors remain those from the regions of Madrid, Basque Country and Castilla y Leon. The main areas of information requested was related to information about the beaches of Torrevieja and its environment, existing trails and routes in the Natural Park of the Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja, cultural activities and transport.
