Emiliano Casal defends his lightweight belt
THEY ARRIVED in La Nucia for a two week break on 27th March to find the locks had been changed, a bank ‘for sale’ placard outside – and all the contents cleared out. It is understood the mistake occurred in a Villajoyosa courtroom where Solvia – a real estate arm of a Spanish bank – had obtained an order to take back a property in the town. Unfortunately, it was the address of the Etherington’s home that was somehow included in the papers and a catalogue of errors was compounded with the seizure of personal pos-
sessions left in the villa by the Brighton couple. The couple arrived “trembling” at the offices of Express Legal Cafe Solicitors in La Nucia in a bid to discover what happened. And the legal firm’s Sandra Wolfe explained: “Obviously they were incredibly upset. They arrived on holiday in La Nucia, went to their property and found they could not get in because the locks had been changed and saw the bank’s placard outside. “They felt they had been raped because someone had invaded their private space. Just imagine the scene, they were incredibly emotional.” Continued on page 8
