Suspected child abductor still at large BRAVE EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Ronni James, daughter of Martin James of the popular men’s hair stylist of Martin and the Cutting Crew in Quesada, is recovering from shock after escaping from a man who tried to abduct her in the Entre Naranjos area on Sunday. by Jan Gamm BLONDE AND blue-eyed Ronni lives in Almoradi with her parents, her 10-year-old sister Annabelle and her two-year-old brother, but had been staying over with friends in the area. She was playing with a group of around ten children but when they started to kick a ball around she lost interest and wandered back toward the direction of the house. She was approached by a man in a white van who mumbled something indiscernible to her before grabbing her by her wrist and the scruff of her shirt, pushing her toward the van… Ronni managed to break free of the man’s hold by kicking and struggling. He quickly got into his van and drove away. Ronni’s description of the man she thought “looked Moroccan” was remarkably accurate considering how frightened she must have been. He was of slim build, about 5’ 10” in height, with dark brown hair yet with a greyish fringe and with a dark complexion, roughly shaven. He wore a red t-shirt with blue jeans and black trainers and was driving a white Peugeot Partner van which he had stopped but left with the engine running and the back door open. Martin and his wife Donna taught their children well, drilling them from an early age to fight off anyone who tried to grab them. And fight she certainly did, sustaining bruises to

We are very lucky that she listened to us when we sat our kids down and went through ‘what would you do if someone tried to snatch you?’ Now we just want to warn everyone to watch out for this horrible man.” Continued on page 6
