Introduction WHO WE ARE We’re 2.7 million strong—1.9 million girls and 800,000 adult volunteers who believe girls can change the world. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. She organized the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, and every year since, we’ve made her vision a reality, helping girls discover their strengths, passions, and talents. Today, as yesterday, we continue the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs for girls from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to do something amazing.

The Girls Scouts will have a chance to explore the gigantic 52-acre property of “Mr. Las Vegas” Wayne Newton, the Casa De Shenandoah. Starting with an awe-inspiring 15 minutes of Wayne Newton’s story of success, the girls will get to see more than 60 handsome Arabian horses, baby wallabies, penguins and Boo, the monkey. It will be a learning experience as scouts will be told about how these animals are managed, from their hygiene to their diets. On top of all this, a badge will be awarded to the scouts as well. You will see over 60 beautiful and unique Arabian Horses. Learn about grooming, diet, and exercise, and how Mr. Newton’s horses swim- yes, swim!- in their own equestrian pool! Watch a feeding demonstration and learn what penguins and baby wallabies eat. The tour begins in the Casa de Shenandoah Visitor Center Theater with a 15 min movie about Newton’s entertainment career from boyhood to today! DAISY
