Secret Language Who has ever created a secret language with a friend? Did anyone know what you were saying? When you made a secret language, you were creating a code. Write your birthday in Morse code and change paper with the person sitting next to you. They have to code your birthday.

Project: Create a Caesar Cipher. Objective: Girls will build a Caesar Cipher by creating their own secret code, and deciphering messages . Materials: sample cipher, cipher worksheets, scissors, brass fasteners, pencils/pens, and paper. Directions: 1. Each girl gets a cipher cut out, worksheet, scissor, brass fastener, pencil/pen, and piece of paper. 2. Cut out circles, place them on top of each other (there is an inner and outer circle). Connect with brass fastener. The circles should be able to spin. 3. Guide girls through another sample message if need be. 4. Girls should create their own secret code using the code worksheet. Make sure they fill in what equals A in the English alphabet. Girls can write a word or a whole sentence.
