Castle Security

What is Security?

Did you know security is the state of being free from danger or threat?

The Girl Scout Promise On my honor, I will try: to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Materials: recycled materials (plastic bottles, toilet paper tubes etc.) construction paper, cardboard/cardstock, pipe cleaners, model magic, glue, markers etc. Directions: • Brainstorm layers of security for a castle: knights, traps, tricks, high walls, a deep ditch around the castle, alligators, gates, etc. • Divide into small groups of 2 or 3 and work together to build a castle with at least 3 layers of security. • Present your castles to the large group and explain the layers of security

1. What are forms of technology we use today? 2. What sort of security measures do you use?

3. Come up with at least 4 different layers of protection you can use to keep yourself safe.
