Get Outdoors! Dear Girl Scouts, The past year and a half has been a difficult time for everyone in so many ways. Although our camp community has stayed connected through Girl Scouts Summer programs, virtual campfires, and fun craft and game nights, we are thrilled to be able to welcome Girl Scouts back to Camp Kaufmann this Fall!

Sometimes we don’t realize what we have until it’s gone. For many people, being stuck inside helped them to realize how precious the outdoors can be. When you’re at camp you have space to run around, fresh air to breathe, and a safe space to try new experiences.
The best method of communication is email. Please email customercare@ girlscoutsnyc.org or campkaufmann@ girlscoutsnyc.org but if you need to reach us immediately please call us at 212-645-4000 ext 297. Camp Kaufmann Staff Steve Gomez, Camp Property Manager Jim Barry, Camp Ranger
So challenge yourself to get outdoors this Fall! Go for a walk, play in the park, and come up to camp for a day trip or a whole weekend! We are ready for you.
Camp Kaufmann is owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, Inc. and is fully accredited by the American Camp Association. The Girl Scouts of Greater New York abides by the program and safety standards of GSUSA and the New York State and Dutchess County Departments of Health.

Camp Kaufmann Troop Camping
Troop leaders may take their girls camping for a weekend at Camp Kaufmann from September-May. Troop Camping is a weekend event from Friday evening through Sunday morning. It is planned and carried out by all the members of the troop. Troop leaders reserve the housing, then plan transportation, meals, sleeping arrangements, and activities with the help of their troops. For any camping trip, the troop must have one First-Aid/ CPR certified adult and one Overnight Adventures certified adult. Each house or camp unit must have its own First Aid/CPR certified person. If you plan to use the fireplace or fire ring to build your own fires, you will need one adult to have the Great Outdoors Certification. If you are staying in a lake house and do not plan on using the fireplace or pit, you only need the Overnight Adventures.
Pricing and housing options are available in the registration link. However, please remember that our outdoor units close on October 16th! Space will be limited the final 2 weekends in October!
Add an Outdoor Classroom Troops can choose to enhance their experience by hiring one of our skilled counselors to run a specific activity for them. There are different classrooms based on the season and they are offered at different rates. Outdoor Classrooms are listed in the registration link. Outdoor Classroom
