Wilderness first aid is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care of a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. At this two-day course, students will learn how to assess, treat and, when possible, prevent medical and traumatic emergencies within the scope of their training. Time is the essential element distinguishing wilderness first aid from standard first aid. When calling EMS is not an immediate option, or when help could be an hour or even days away, the task of managing the injured and the ill will challenge you beyond the principles of first aid you will learn in this course. Prerequisites for this course include Adult CPR and AED. Basic first aid and outdoor camping training is recommended.

Girl Scouts renewed for 2025 are taking over Starlite Drive-In for an epic sleepover on August 10!
For $25 per carload, you’ll have your choice between two double feature showings on the big screens. Families can choose which screen to watch the double feature on as one screen will have younger, family-friendly movies and the second screen will be for an older audience. Movies will be announced closer to the event.
Then, for only $10 per person following the double feature, the Starlite Drive-In will clear out for an unforgettable, Girl Scouts-only showing of a popular movie. There will be late-night games and a celebration for National S’mores Day at midnight! Families can sleep in their car or pitch a tent nearby.
Membership renewal opens on April 1 and you must renew and register for the event by July 29 to attend this event.
