Teen Opportunities What are the benefits and what will I learn as a CIT? The CIT program helps teens develop the leadership skills and tools to become a role model in the everyday lives of younger campers. During the CIT program, you will gain skills in teaching core camp programming, facilitating activities, and managing peer relationships and the conflicts that can arise.

I want to volunteer at summer camp!

As a volunteer, you’ll introduce campers to new experiences that show them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined. You’ll be their cheerleader, guide, and mentor—helping them develop essential life skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. Imagine the excitement, the impact, the memories made—those are the moments you’ll share at Girl Scouts.

take on greater responsibility for planning, preparing, and delivering camp activities. If selected as a CIT 2, not only will you attend camp at no cost, you will receive a small daily stipend. Sign me up! What’s next? We are excited that you are interested in developing your leadership skills as a CIT! The next steps are attending one of the CIT Trainings (page 17, 19, 23) and completing the CIT Summer Camp Application and interview process. See Council Camps at-a-glance (page 12-13) to see which sessions need CITs to assist with programming. Have questions? Contact the camp directors at info@gskh.org.

Select opportunities for you to volunteer at our camp sessions:

• Be a group leader - help

campers navigate camp and get to their activities. • Share your expertise – lead a game, experiment, craft, or activity. We’ll match your skills to our camp plans. • Chaperone the bus – sing with excited campers in the morning and watch happy, exhausted ones in the afternoon as they travel between the Wichita Girl Scout office and Starwoods during day camp sessions. • And much more! How can I be a part of this ALL summer long? If you are available for a whole summer of fun, consider applying for a camp staff position. Check available opportunities at kansasgirlscouts.org.
