Why Girl Scout Camp? Girl Scout camp is a place where girls get to try new things and overcome fears while gaining confidence, independence and make new friends in an environment just for girls. It’s where girls get to be explorers, creative thinkers, and build their leadership skills in new and exciting ways. Thank you to our summer camp sponsors as of March 1, 2021, for helping to provide new and exciting adventures for the girls. We appreciate our corporate and foundation sponsors including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation; SpiritAeroSystems, Inc.; Cargill; Evergy; Mosby Lincoln Foundation; Juliette’s Pearls Leadership Society; and individual donors, Dee Rolph, Joan Wagner and Ryan Doll for supporting the girls as they explore the world around them in an environment created just for them.

Older Girl Opportunities leadership skills. Girls take on greater responsibility for planning, preparing, and delivering camp activities. The CIT 2 program is only available at select camp sessions. Not only will they attend camp at no cost, they will also receive a small stipend (amount varies by length and type of camp session).
Counselor in Training (CIT) Program What is the CIT Program? The CIT program is a training program where girls entering grades 8-12 will receive an opportunity to be a Counselor-in-Training at GSKH’s summer camps during select sessions. What are the benefits and what will I learn as a CIT? The CIT program helps older girls develop the leadership skills and tools to become a role model in the everyday lives of younger girls. During the CIT program, they will gain skills in teaching core camp programming, facilitating activities, and managing peer relationships and the conflicts that can arise.
CIT 1: The first two years of the CIT program focus on learning about leadership and practicing these skills in a safe, girl-only environment with close supervision by camp staff. Types of Camp Experiences Resident Camp*
Is your camper a Junior or older? She can eat, sleep, and live the camp life for a full week, from Sunday evening through Friday evening. She will choose from activities that will help her build life skills along with outdoor skills, boating, target sports and much more. During the week, she will earn badges, cook over the campfire, and have plenty of time for swimming, relaxing, and getting to know her new camp friends. Girls can request to be in the same unit as up to two friends at registration.
Mini Resident Camp*
This option is for Brownies and older who would like to try out the resident camp experience without staying the full week. Campers spend up to four days and three nights swimming, playing, learning, and earning badges. Your camper will participate in activities such as arts and crafts, target sports, high adventure, boating, and much more to fill her days with the activities that interest her.
Troop & Family Camp
If your troop or family would like to camp together, this type of camp is a great option! If attending as a troop, volunteers must register and attend to meet adult-to-girl camping ratios for their troop. If attending as a family, as least one caregiver must register and attend as chaperone. Our “You and Me” sessions are great for introducing outdoor experiences to young Girl Scouts!
Platform tents, at all 3 camp properties
Sky Lofts, only at Four Winds
Day Camp
For novice campers who prefer a day only experience, Starwoods day camps are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with check in and pick up allowed 30 minutes prior or after. Day campers will participate in a variety of activities depending on their age, including swimming, archery, climbing, team building, and boating.
