DISTRICT
The of the Palm Beaches by Erica Rohrscheib The Palm Beaches, built around treeshaded streets and squares, these electric downtowns that boast colorful collections of galleries, boutiques and culinary options. The same downtowns stretch back across time itself. Our neighborhoods have been home to many generations of families. Their architecture with timeless designs speaks for itself. Together, historic downtowns and neighborhoods rush with locals going about their way, and the tourists taking in the essence that makes our towns so lively and unique!
Florida is a true haven for artists and free spirits and offers visitors many things to do so they can immerse themselves in the area's cultural scene. The Palm Beaches are Florida's Cultural Capital; the museums tell the story and show what sets us apart as a world-class destination. We have museums of art, science, history and even some dedicated to children. We also have museums on the National Register of Historic Places, where the buildings are an actual part of history. It is worth visiting some or all of them!

Gourmet Corner We often hear the expression "There's no accounting for taste ", which means that there is no absolute truth in the matter of taste. We think it is important to bring this idea to the table, pun intended: first, because we want this column to be open to all kind of restaurants in our area, and second, because if you let yourself try different things, you will be able to cultivate your palate. The first step towards this goal is a willingness to try all kinds of flavors and dishes; this does not mean you have to like them, but in the very least, you have to try them with an open mind. In eating , as in wine tasting , or any other activity in life , experiences are the key to learning. As you try different cuisines and experiment with different ways of preparing food, you will develop your palate and dive into one of the greatest pleasures of life. A melting pot of cultures, South Florida has excellent restaurants to choose from ranging from the very intimate and formal to the casual and relaxed, the prohibitively expensive to the economic, and the locally operated to the big chains; not to mention the wide variety of available cuisines: American, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Latin America, etc. My husband and I have the rare fortune of having a group of friends with whom we share similar interests with regards to food and wine. We go out for dinner at least once a week to places where we can bring our own wine, paying of course a cork fee. This allows us the freedom and flexibility to savor wines that may not be available just anywhere.

These are some of the restaurants we frequently visit: Cod & Capers Seafood 1201 US Hwy One Ste 47 North Palm Beach, FL 33408 (561) 622-0963 codandcapers.com This is not your typical seafood restaurant since it doubles as a fish market where you can buy fish and seafood; in fact, this is where a great deal of restaurants in the area buy their fish from. The menu doesn’t have a long list of plates , but every one of them is excellent. You can't go wrong with seafood when it’s so fresh. In addition to the plates listed on the menu, you are welcome to choose your fish straight from one of the freezers. My favorite is the halibut menier, a firm white fish that is simply delicious! But if you have the foresight to call in advance, as I often have, you can enjoy 3 or 4 pounds of previously marinated grilled shrimp and octopus with a group of friends. With Cod & Capers' casual ambiance and great service, you will always feel welcome. In fact, if for any reason you don't feel as welcome as I do, I urge you to talk to the manager or the owner. They take so much pride in what they do that I'm sure they'll do what is necessary to change your mind. The restaurant area seats guests from 11am to 5pm Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm.They are closed on Sunday.
Texas de Brazil 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Dr Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410 (561) 293-7478 texasdebrazil.com This is a churrascaria and rodizio style restaurant; as such, you have to come prepared to eat. There have been a few of these restaurants that have opened up in the Palm Beach area , but this is by far the best. Overall very good food and service. The Salad bar is beautiful, with over 30 items to choose from: it has different meats and cheeses as well as shrimp, farofa, artichoke hearts, asparagus, prosciutto, smoked salmon, sushi, potatoes au gratin, sautéed mushrooms, lobster bisque, and seasonal salads just to name a few. There are offerings of fillet, picanha (top sirloin), flank steak, sausage, lamb, pork, and chicken, prepared and/or served in in a variety of different ways. Also included in the fixed price, they will bring sides of garlic mashed potatoes and fried bananas, as well as the hard to resist Brazilian cheese bread, to the table, which you can keep ordering as long as you’d like.
veal kidneys in a mustard sauce. I love the food and the vibe of the place It also has an extensive takeout menu that includes rotisserie birds such as whole chicken, turkey, and duck with orange sauce. If you like French food , you must try it, and if you are thinking that portions are going to be small, think again; that’s not the case at all. Mom's Kitchen 7478 Lake Worth Rd Lake Worth, FL 33467 (561) 964-4931 When I'm not in the mood to make breakfast , this is my go to place. Mom’s Kitchen has the feeling of an old diner; it has a quaint, rustic appearance with good ‘ole American home style food. Specials are posted on a whiteboard on the wall. It tends to get very busy on weekend mornings, but the wait tends to be short and well worth it. My favorite dish is mom's omelet, but my dad always orders grits and a side of corned beef hash with his eggs and my daughters like the pancakes and the eggs benedict. Overall you can’t go wrong with this place. Bice Ristorante
Beverages and desserts are not included in the fixed price. The servers are all very attentive and they always strive to bring whatever meat you want most to the table. French Corner Bistro & Rotisserie 4595 Okeechobee Blvd West Palm Beach, FL 33402 (561) 689-1700 When you are in the mood for French cuisine and you don't want to pay an arm and a leg, this is the place to go. This tiny but cozy husband/wife run bistro, located in a strip mall in West Palm Beach, makes all the dishes from scratch. There are very few tables so I would say that reservations are mandatory. It has plenty of ambience, and an atmosphere that’s relaxed and friendly. My daughters love the escargots in garlic butter and my husband goes crazy for their

313 Worth Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480 (561) 835-1600 “Always Consistent, Always Excellent” This Palm Beach Italian restaurant has been my favorite for many years. The food is consistently of high quality and is always appealing to the senses. The atmosphere is perfect for a business meal to impress, a romantic date or lunch with friends. Whether pasta, fish or meat, the menu is rich in flavor and color. Service is as professional as it gets for any high-end restaurant. As a starter I would like to recommend the tuna tartare with such a fresh and delicate flavor. For the seafood lovers, the Risoto al frutti di mare is a very good selection. But my very favorite entree would be the osso bucco....falling off the bone.
Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is the last northernmost portion of the unique Everglades, river of grass. With over 221 square miles of Everglades’ habitat, the Loxahatchee Refuge is home to the American alligator and the critically endangered Everglade snail kite. The Refuge protects a remnant of the once vast northern Everglades. At the Visitor Center you can take a virtual airboat ride, listen to the night sounds of the Everglades and explore gator holes - all without getting wet! Behind the Visitor Center you can explore the Cypress Swamp Boardwalk, a 0.4-mile trail, which loops through towering cypress trees, pond apple trees, ferns and other flora of the swamp. Then relax in the nearby Butterfly Garden, or head across the road to the Marsh Trail. The 0.8-mile Marsh Trail is one of several walking trails along the grass levees that encircle impoundment areas, where different water levels provide habitat for various types of wading birds and other wildlife. Bring your camera and binoculars! You might see an endangered Wood Stork or Snail Kite, or any of 270 other species of birds. While walking the trails, look for tracks in the soft sand. Common tracks include those of bobcats, otters, alligators, raccoons, armadillos and birds. See the Everglades up close and personal in a canoe or kayak on the 5.5-mile Canoe Trail! Or enjoy the view from the levee as you ride along the 12-mile Bike Trail alongside the main canal. Canoes, kayaks and bicycles are available for rent. Try your luck fishing from the pier for largemouth bass, bluegill and bullhead catfish. Boating and sport fishing are also allowed in the main canal. State regulations for fishing licenses apply. Anatomy of a Beautiful Smile
Ever wonder why some celebrities have such beautiful smiles? Or why is it that most movie stars have such stunning, gorgeous, flawless teeth when they laugh or pose for a shoot on the red carpet?. Fact is, creating and designing a new beautiful smile does not happen by accident. You’d be surprised to know that most natural looking and undetectable “Hollywood smiles are the work of a dentist. It takes a dentist that understands and has the experience, knowledge, and confidence to back up the claims and provide these stars with that ideal smile. Below are step by step procedures in creating a new Smile for our patient: Initial photos and work up The preliminary work is the single most important part in designing a new smile. Just like an architect planning a building, we first need initial sketch, Preliminary design, and a blueprint of the final result. A great starting point would be to ask the patient for old photos. However, if they never liked their smile and want to make a change, patient is asked to bring a photo of her favorite celebrity smile from a magazine. Patients can also be given past cases that we have done and "after" photos of the patients to choose from. The teeth can range from square, rounded or any combination. This is a personal choice and of course the dentist and their

show teeth when she smiled. Some patients can do serious damage to their teeth by years of grinding or clinching. It was decided to lengthen her teeth to ideal. This was accomplished by getting the patient involved in the decision and determining her goals. Digital Smile Design At this point, we need to have a preliminary design and "sketch" of the final product. This is accomplished by what the patient wants, what the ideal should be, and what functionally is appropriate and correct to reconstruct her smile in this case. As can be seen her teeth has been

damaged and the enamel and dentin destroyed due to various reasons. The length needs to be restored, the structure rebuilt, and it has to be correct in the scheme of her facial feature, lip line, and lower lip curvature. For that we initiate the design by digital means on our Digital Smile Design (DSD) application for iPad: 1) A single tooth is added to the correct proportion in regards to mold and length 2) Then the next tooth is added 3) And finally more teeth are added to the correct proportion and in accordance to the smile curve
*** The entire purpose of the Digital Smile Design from photos is for the dental laboratory to create a blueprint of the temporaries for the final restorations Provisional (Temporary) Stage At this point the patient will get to "test drive" the new smile. The teeth are prepared and the provisional or temporaries which are created from the diagnostic
tools, designed from the digital work-up, is delivered to the teeth and bonded. During these 2-3 weeks, the patient can critique and make simple changes to the shape of the teeth which can be communicated to the lab. Final and completed case The new veneers/crowns were bonded after the provisional was removed and they look stunning! Finals The new veneers/crowns were bonded after the provisional was removed and they look stunning! To conclude, a smile makeover and designing and creating a new smile for patients who demand the best and are quality minded, should be predictable and the cosmetic dentist is in control of the end result at all times. For such demanding and technique-sensitive procedure, choosing the right office and experienced cosmetic dentist is imperative for your desired results.

Independent Imaging the Best in Early Detection Dr. Thomas Kirchner, Dr. Eric Baumel and Dr. Jonathan Huber of Independent Imaging
Advances in early breast cancer detection have come a long way in the past ten years, as the doctors at Independent Imaging will tell you. Dr. Eric Baumel, Dr. Jonathan Huber and Dr. Thomas Kirchner gather around the computer monitor to demonstrate the amazing detail in “breast tomosynthesis,” also known as 3D mammography. (See related article at end of this story about 3D Mammography). Independent Imaging, located in Palomino Park in Wellington with three other locations, is the only site in the Western Communities offering this level of stateof-the-art radiology, including the tomosynthesis. This is considered “the best of the best” in the industry. “Anything that can help us…and prevent a patient from coming back for additional visits, giving us higher level of confidence with the results is a very good thing,” says Dr. Kirchner, referring to their stateof-the-art technology. “The breast tomosynthesis in 3D mammography,” explains Dr. Huber, “is the only technical advance in decades in this field.” You can clearly see it on their faces – they are excited about this technology, which puts us light years ahead of yesterday’s methods of detection.

“We catch early cancers all the time,” says Dr. Baumel. “And that’s the most rewarding part – when we can help patients find out exactly what’s wrong.” Dr. Baumel outlines the challenges of radiology with today’s patients. “When you talk about the key to good radiology, it’s basically a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ It’s all about finding the abnormality and putting it in the context of the patient.” This includes knowing the patient’s history, any past or present conditions and understanding the whole context. The three doctors are well-respected in our Wellington area medical community and have all originally worked in the local hospitals. Each doctor has been working in the field of radiology for approximately twenty years, bringing a wealth of expertise to their patients. Dr. Kirchner explains that this helps in two ways – first, it makes the local doctors more likely to call upon them and second, it is a great help that the doctors at Independent Imaging know exactly what is needed (and sometimes needed quickly) for doctor’s offices and patients.
care, beautiful facility and successful results that Independent Imaging brings to patients every day. “The caring quality of our staff is infused in all of them from day one. If you treat everyone like you would treat your grandmother, you cannot go wrong.” He constantly reminds his staff that when a patient is coming in for testing, he or she is probably nervous about it. As they refer to him at Independent Imaging, “Dr. G” stresses that each staff member needs to have “the most respect for their patient’s condition” every time. “There is nothing that we won’t do to make sure that the patient is comfortable,” explains Dr. G. If the technologist shows appreciation for the patients and
what they are going through, they are able to get the testing done and work with the anxiety at hand, he says. Also, keeping the process quick and efficient is also a great help to the potentially anxious patient. “Customer service is the core of what we do here,” says Staci Martin, Marketing & Development Manager for Independent Imaging.” From the person who greets patients at the front desk to the technician who reads the data, they are ambassadors of good service for Independent Imaging. Independent Imaging locations are in Wellington, in Lake Worth (near the JFK hospital), in Palm Beach Gardens and in Belle Glade.
3D Mammograms: 1 of 10 Breakthroughs That Will Change Medicine Breast cancer deaths have declined by almost 20 percent over the past decade. Better screening has made a difference. Today’s mammograms allow doctors to “see” an abnormal breast mass up to two years before they can feel it. It’s the gold standard for detecting breast cancer!. Breast Tomosynthesis – or 3D Mammography, was approved by the FDA in 2011. It allows doctors to find cancer even earlier with more accuracy than traditional mammograms. Independent Imaging is proud to be the leader in introducing this technology.

This man in turn transforms their environment encompassing all the ethnos of his life such as family, children and neighbors, working to gradually shake the Nations. God needs man to bring his Kingdom from the spiritual world to the natural, because He established, since creation, that only man has the legal right and authority to operate on Earth. We were created by God for himself; He gives you gifts and talents that maybe you haven’t even discovered that will make you successful in your life. Discover your true self and talents guided by Jesus and leave your legacy on earth. I challenged you to accept Jesus into your life! If you take the decision to accept Jesus as your savior pray with your mouth and with your heart:
Heavenly Father, I recognize that I am a sinner and that my sins separates me from you. Now I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and that God the Father raised Him from the dead. I receive Jesus into my heart and in my life. I renounce to any covenant I have done with the world, with the enemy and myself. I repent of all my sins and receive the gift of salvation and eternal life. Amen. You may ask, "Now that I am saved, what's next?" First of all you need to get into a bible-based church, and study God's Word. Them, you will want to become water-baptized because it is a symbol of your salvation from the dead. May God Bless You!
