Local refugee advocacy and support group Welcome to Maleny will host a candlelight vigil this Friday, July 19 at 5.30pm to commemorate the six-year anniversary of the start of offshore processing in Australia.
People are invited to light a candle in honour of lives lost in detention and in support of those still suffering on Manus and Nauru.
Together vigil participants will hold a light in the dark for those still languishing in terrible conditions and for the persecuted and displaced who need to be brought urgently to safety.
