Departing Maleny
The Sunshine Coast Global Climate Strike held at Cotton Tree last Friday was attended by 3,000 marchers protesting to demand climate justice for the younger generation.
The Maleny turnout for the event was fantastic with about 40 people setting off by bus and car-share from Maple Street, and many more Maleny people making their own way there to join the event.
The Maple Street Co-op also closed for a while as a show of support for climate action and Shotgun Expresso provided a free coffee to those going down for the rally.

Many of the Maleny High School students had an exam on the day, which was their last day of the school term, with some students joining the rally later.
