Welcome ‘Create and Make’ is the theme in the Gallery this spring, with lots of opportunities to not only visit and look at our fabulous exhibitions on display but to also get involved in the activities we have on offer. Winter had the Gallery jumping with so much activity, from artist-run art and masterclasses, kids’ holiday fun, tours, curator talks, local Elder Language & story sessions, weaving, ArtWalk... the list goes on. A big thank you to all who attended, it was a joy to see so many people immerse themselves in our programming. We cannot wait to do it all again with you this spring! How will you ‘Create and Make’ this spring? Create new skills? Make room for a new experience? Perhaps make new friends? Perhaps attend an artist talk and be inspired to make? 11am - 1pm - Glasshouse Studio Designers Obsessed: Vipoo Srivilasa, Liz Williamson & Gabriella Bisetto Join exhibiting artists Vipoo Srivilasa, Melbourne based ceramicist; Liz Williamson, weaver; and Gabriella Bisetto, glass artist; as they share their arts practice and discuss the importance that making has on their lives. ANDREW SNELGAR

Andy first started carving, some 25 years ago, under the instruction of his uncle (Paul Gordon) a very well recognised and respected elder of the Ngemba - Gurru-Gillu tribal association. Andy works with both hardwoods and softwoods to create his works. Carving shields, mirru, clubs, and boomerangs, Andy's creations can be recognised by his ability to work with the wood's natural shapes and his intricate line work.

Symmetry of Nature relates to the delicate balance found in the natural world and how easily this can be disrupted by human intervention. Be Inspired Artist in Residence: Asher Milgate

We are delighted to have Asher Milgate as our Artist in Residence this September. Milgate (Wellington, now based in Sydney) works predominantly with photography, sound

and video. Much of his work has focused on the documentation of regional landscape and communities. Asher will work within our local landscape, documents and exploring new ideas that will be on display in the Glasshouse Regional Gallery in 2020. Milgate has been exhibiting regularly over the last decade, having solo and group exhibitions in regional NSW and Sydney. Asher has been a finalist in the Sydney Art and About, International Photography Awards (IPA), Black & White Spider Awards and Incinerator Award for his video works. He has also been published in The Guardian, The Big Issue, IMbd, SBS, NITV, ABC’s Awaye. His work is held in private collections all over the world.
