Projects have ranged from policy development to strategy formulation, master planning, feasibility studies, design, funding, implementation and monitoring – thus covering the full life cycle of transport infrastructure projects. Although transportation engineering is a niche service, Koleko has a diverse project portfolio that includes the planning, design and implementation of various transportation systems, including roads, rail and maritime. The provision of sustainable, affordable, safe, and equitable transport has improved the lives of millions of people. The projects have helped attain some of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, nudging South Africa towards achieving the 2030 NDP.

Good business management practices, a solid corporate strategy and strong client relations have helped Koleko expand to new markets and geographies. Quality management, risk, communication, stakeholder and project management systems ensure that clients, projects, staff and management are in sync. Koleko embraces technology and innovation to ensure that both business and projects are optimised. Partners, mentors, associates and industry experts have played a vital role in Koleko’s success. Lastly, the most important piece of the puzzle is the staff. The staff work tirelessly to ensure that client needs are exceeded and that Koleko’s brand values are upheld. As gratitude for their hard work and commitment, Koleko ensures that staff grow professionally and personally. Employees are equipped with the necessary tools, training and guidance to achieve their full potential. Profit distribution, the Koleko BEE Trust, and the ownership transformation agenda are instruments to encourage younger staff to take ownership of the company and to ultimately determine the future of Koleko.
