Historic Glenbrook Valley Civic Club “Glenbrook Valley Is A Deed Restricted Neighborhood” June
2017
The Budget and Civic Club Membership The financial responsibilities of the Civic Club are met from dues collected from the residents of Glenbrook Valley. Our operating budget for 2017 is $19,720.00. The newsletter is the largest line item in the budget. The cost of printing and mailing the newsletter to every home in Glenbrook Valley in 2017 is projected to be $9,768.00. We send the newsletter to every home because we feel it is our responsibility to keep our neighbors informed about events and various topics affecting the neighborhood and surrounding area. Therefore, it is time for those who have not sent in their dues to do so as soon as possible in order to maintain the newsletter distribution. Should we fall short of the necessary operational funds, we will have no choice but to send newsletters to civic club members only. A huge thank you to all of you who have stepped up and joined the civic club. Membership has increased this year, but we have a long way to go to reach our goals.
Routine Maintenance Keeping your home in good repair is a huge task. Anything considered "routine" doesn't need permitting. It is important for the life of wood products to keep them painted. When choosing a paint color, restrictions require it to

Hurricane Information The Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale measures the strength of Hurricanes. It lists the categories, sustained winds, storm surge, and type of damage to expect. Regardless the category, all storms have the potential to cause major damage. Be prepared! Before the storm: • Trim trees and shrubs around
your property NOW! If you wait until just before the storm you only create possible projectiles for the wind to carry. • Tape does NOT prevent windows from shattering and causing damage. Install permanent storm shutters or use 5/8" marine plywood, cut to fit, over your windows. • Place patio furniture, plants, wind chimes, yard decorations and all other outdoor objects indoors, or tie them to something stationary that should be storm proof.

Not only do we have neighbors walking with their pets not on a leash, but some that decide if it's dark no one will notice, so they turn their dogs loose after dark. If this is occurring in your section, please let you Director or Director at Large know.

If you would like your home to be considered as a stop on this year's tour, email your name, address, and contact information to civicclub@glenbrookvalley.org.
If you would like to volunteer in some capacity to help with the tour, send your name and contact Todos los letreros se deben remoi n f o r m a t i o n t o c i v i c - ver inmediatamente. Yard Sign

Reminder A friendly reminder, Glenbrook Valley is a deed restricted neighborhood. It is the responsibility of the Civic Club's Board of Directors to see that the restrictions are enforced. That being said, the only sign our deed restrictions permit on a property is a "For Sale" sign. Alarm signs are permitted by City ordinance and should be small and placed within 36 inches of the home near the door. Any type of sign or message needs to be removed immediately. Enforcement of this restriction will be handled by the Club's attorney. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
