& Taylors Three Rocks IRISH NIGHT Discover the Emerald Isle’s exquisite treasures then whoop it up on a traditional night out at Taylors Three Rocks – Dublin’s leading Irish song and dance venue.
Irish indulgences get underway with lovely Letterkenny where you’ll find craft shops, pretty parks and heritage sites. Derry delivers a grand procession of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture encircled by ancient walls and we include both a guided tour and entry to the city’s Tower Museum. We pop into historic Donegal Town on the banks of the River Eske then pause at Sligo, a coastal resort with crashing waves and golden sands. Next up is fourteenth century Ballina, nestling at the mouth of the River Moy and blessed with a stunning coastline. We cross the Michael Davitt Bridge to Achill Island, with its sleepy villages, powdery beaches and sky scraping Mount Slievemore. Your Holiday Itinerary Thursday. We journey to Cairnryan for our ferry then onwards to Letterkenny where we check in at the Station Hotel for two nights. Friday. Treats kick off with a guided tour of Derry, Ireland’s only walled city and where intriguing sights include St Columbs Cathedral and the political murals. We include entry to the award winning Tower Museum where “The Story of Derry” and “An Armada Shipwreck” are the main exhibitions. Saturday. We spend the morning in Donegal Town, home to a fifteenth century castle, Railway Heritage Museum and a craft village. Elsewhere, view the collections at the City Gallery of Art or the rare antiquities at the Hunt Museum. Wednesday. It is home to an imposing castle, built in 1213 within the grounds of Damer House and featuring stunning pre-Palladian architecture. Near the castle you’ll find an interesting twelfth century Romanesque church and round tower. Perhaps visit Mona Inch Abbey, located on what used to be an island, the fifteenth century Franciscan Friary with its preserved nave arcade or Fancroft Mills & Gardens, home to a whooshing waterwheel. Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We journey to Cairnryan for our ferry crossing then continue to Racket Hall Country House Hotel. Day Two. This morning we make our way to Birr Castle Demesne where we are treated to a guided tour of this storybook fortress. Its grounds are a tranquil oasis with romantic walks, a moat, rare plants and waterfalls. Afterwards, enjoy some free time in Birr before we continue to Portumna Castle and Gardens. This partly fortified Jacobean manor is surrounded by a willow maze and formal grounds. Day Three. Our treat today is Russborough House, a Palladian mansion set in parkland with views of Blessington Lakes. After viewing the ornate interior and unique exhibits, we spend the afternoon in the medieval town of Kildare. Here you might like to visit the heritage centre where a virtual seventh century monk takes you on a fascinating journey through time. Day Four. We visit well preserved Cahir Castle, built on an island on the River Suir in 1142, it retains its impressive keep, tower and defensive structure. The afternoon brings free time to stroll around Cashel town, home to ancient monasteries, a Georgian cathedral and fortified townhouses. Day Five. After breakfast, we head for our return ferry, then continue home.

First treat today is a morning tour of Dublin taking in sights such as Trinity College, St Patrick’s Cathedral and Dublin Castle. Afterwards, we get our taste buds tantalised with a tasting tour at Kilbeggan Distillery. Here you will be transported back through the centuries as you view the creaking waterwheel and steam engine. Suitably refreshed, we continue to County Clare and to Lisdoonvarna - Ireland’s premier spa town. We check into a hotel from the White’s collection for our three night stay. Day Three. This morning we head into the glorious Burren countryside, arriving at Ailwee Caves for a guided tour of this spectacular underworld of breathtaking caverns and thundering waterfalls. Later, we continue to the Cliff’s of Moher, a landscape unchanged for millennia and home to Ireland’s largest mainland seabird colony. On our return we stop at Burren Smokehouse and sample smoked salmon. Day Four. Gorgeous Galway beckons and our guided walking tour will get your sightseeing off to a great start. Afterwards, enjoy free time to wander the cobblestoned alleyways brim full of craft shops and hidden treasures. Day Five.
