GLLV ANNOUNCES NAME FOR NEW VISITOR & INFORMATION CENTER The Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce announced plans for opening a Visitor & Information Center on Route 30 in Sharky’s Plaza earlier this year and a grand opening for “The Neighborhood” Visitor & Information Center is being planned for January.

T

hanks to support from the McFeely-Rogers Foundation, the new center will bear a familiar name and logo. “Having Neighborhood in the facility’s name is an ideal fit,” said David Martin, GLLV president. “When I first arrived last January, so many people made it a point to welcome me to the “Neighborhood” and that stuck with me. There is such a strong sense of community here and our new name will be a true reflection of that.” The center will feature area information on shopping, member business services, restaurants, lodging, attractions, activities and communityfocused material for visitors and new and current residents of the Chamber’s service area. The Chamber also sees an opportunity to reach the thousands of regional travelers making their way each week to Arnold Palmer Regional Airport for daily Spirit flights to Florida, Myrtle Beach or, coming in April, non-stop flights to Las Vegas.

to answer questions and provide suggestions. The VIC will also feature area memorabilia, local works-of-art, a history section, unique merchandise and be technology-focused. A new interactive 70” HD display from Total Service, Inc. in Latrobe will be a focal point of the center and feature a variety of media promoting the Chamber’s Members and diverse communities in the GLLV service area. “When you consider the amount of business travel and conference activity in Las Vegas, we are expecting the new daily flights to be met with much enthusiasm from the tri-state area and beyond as well as introduce many to our great communities, local businesses and regional year-round activities.” The Chamber’s Visitor & Information Center will provide directories and material from menus, maps, flyers, business cards, local coupons and information on area business services and real estate listings. The center will be staffed
