he Salina City Commission in Salina, KS, voted unanimously to approve a five-year contract with Global Spectrum to manage the Salina Bicentennial Center. “We are happy negotiations are through,” said Jason Gage, City Manager. “We are excited that Global Spectrum will do some good things for us at the facility.” Global Spectrum named nine-year company veteran Chris Bird as its General Manager for the Bicentennial Center. Bird formerly had been Assistant General Manager at the Liacouras Center on Chris Bird the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Deputy City Manager Mike Schrage said the agreement would reduce the city’s overall subsidy. Global Spectrum also will have the ability to sell naming rights to assets inside the building, but will not be allowed to rename the entire facility without approval from the city commission. We are excited about being here in this part of the country and think we will be very competitive,” said Todd Glickman, Global Spectrum’s Vice President for Business Development and Client Relations. “We are going to put Salina on the entertainment map.” Bird said Salina has “a lot of potential to bring in new acts or acts that haven’t been back in many years.” The Bicentennial Center is a venue that showcases sports and entertainment in an arena setting. Its Heritage Hall has more than 17,000 sq. ft. of meeting and banquet space that is column-free and can be configured to accommodate about any type of meeting needs. Exhibition space exceeds 40,000 sq. ft. 
