The UK’s most experienced Day Camp

For over 30 years, Camp Beaumont has been offering the very best multi-activity day camps for children and teenagers. Camp Beaumont Day Camps started over 30 years ago introducing American style summer camp experiences to children all across London and the Home Counties. It was a much welcomed import and for the past 3 decades over one million children have enjoyed exciting new multi-activity experiences, found new friendships, developed great new skills as well as independence in the safe secure setting of our Day Camps which are hosted at some of the best schools across London. What started as a family business has now developed into a year round commitment to educating and inspiring children and Camp Beaumont Day Camps, now part of the Education Travel Group provides over 15,000 children every Half Term, Easter and Summer holiday with safe, happy and fun filled experiences. Our 13 day camps are full of character and each camp is unique in style, program, games, geography, traditions and experience and it’s here where children find a world filled with possibilities unavailable to them in every day life. Camp is a place where kids interact with people face-to-face. Children meet people from all over the world, every race and culture. In this magical environment, children get the opportunity to climb a tower, ride a horse, drive a quad bike, shoot an arrow and these memories stay with them forever. Camp Beaumont is inspected regularly, both by our team and by various external bodies including Ofsted and BAHA - The British Activity Holiday Association. All camp staff are carefully selected role models dedicated to showing children how to have fun and learn from each other and each holds an enhanced CRB check. We’re proud of our rigorous procedures and safety standards and we work tirelessly to ensure Camp Beaumont remains the best Day Camp in the UK. We hope you enjoy the brochure.

Treats for threes and fun for fours, hugs and smiles for all. At this age, children want to explore, but only in a safe, familiar environment. Playtime offers the best of both worlds, thanks to our carefully planned activity programme and caring, enthusiastic staff. A friendly environment From the moment children arrive, there’s a smiley, friendly face waiting for them. We engage children instantly, getting them active straight away or giving them an encouraging hug and story to help them settle in.

s d n a h e f a In s

Play safe We plan activities for little people with big ideas and our team of qualified Early Years Co-ordinators ensure sessions are short and interactive to maximise the fun. Energetic play is mixed with creative play as campers try new activities. They can also choose from a range of exciting Specialist Holidays, listed in the ‘At a glance’ box above.

Caring staff Playtime is managed by an experienced Senior Nursery Leader with Level 3 CACHE/NNEB qualifications and a staff team offering a 1:8 staff to child ratio. We choose staff for their sensitivity as well as their experience, because sometimes younger children want a hand to hold as well as a game to play with new friends.

Kick back and chill out at the coolest, funkiest place for teenagers. Teens may think they’re getting too old for camp – but our unique programme brings out the best in them. With just the right balance, campers choose how they want their day to go. Who needs Facebook? Our staff’s relaxed approach ensures our oldest campers are having fun, trying a whole host of new activities – and most importantly, making a massive network of new friends with similar interests and a desire to have fun!

Fun & Friends

All round choice Being the oldest has its advantages and that means Teen Clubbers get to try just about every activity on offer including an exclusive offsite excursion to a local attraction! The skills campers learn are more advanced than those of our other age groups and we’re always on the lookout for new and exciting activities for Teen Club to enjoy.

It’s all about the “wow” factor Our staff really make Teen Club special, with the ability to communicate with teenagers and the enthusiasm and motivation to create a unique Beaumont experience. In fact, many of our Teen Club campers go on to become Group Leaders themselves. We also have a limited number of placements available for 17 year olds to work as Junior Group Leaders.

Parent guide

A name you can trust With over 30 years’ experience, you can trust Camp Beaumont. We have invested heavily to stay at the cutting edge of this industry. Nobody else comes close for sheer flair and innovation. The Camp Beaumont philosophy

Your child’s programme

We’ve seen thousands of children grow up at camp – with many returning to us as Instructors and Group Leaders. We’ve seen insecurities disappear as friendships blossom, children learn independence and most of all self-confidence and a positive self-image emerging as children receive recognition and encouragement from their new camp friends.

Every child will benefit from at least six group activities each day and these will be listed on their individual timetable. If you’ve got any questions or concerns about these activities please contact your Camp Director.

Safety first Acting in loco parentis, we apply the same standards of care and safety that any parent would expect, not least because many of us are parents too. All our camps undergo thorough Ofsted inspections and all sites inspected in 2010 received great praise. You can see the results at www.ofsted.gov.uk.

Equal opportunity We welcome children from all backgrounds and those with special needs and are happy to consider all applications. Please see section 4 of our booking conditions for more information on special needs. If you have any questions, just call our Customer Care Manager on 01263 823 000.

Preparing for camp

We comply fully with the 2004 Children Act with a minimum staff to child ratio of 1:8 and are regularly inspected by the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA). So while your children are having fun, you can be sure they’re being well looked after.

We’ll send you a comprehensive information pack around two weeks before camp begins. We’ll also ask you to complete a medical form and bring this to camp on the first day. If your child has any special requirements, please send these to our Customer Care Manager in advance so we can make any necessary arrangements with your chosen camp.

Arrival and departure

What if my child doesn’t settle?

We open at 8.30am for arrival by 9am. When you arrive, we’ll ask whether you want to collect your child at 4.30pm or 5.30pm that day. Children staying until 5.30pm enjoy an extra activity session for free. Extended Day from 8am-6pm can be booked at £50 per week.

If your child is unhappy contact camp immediately as most issues are instantly resolved. If your child does not wish to return after their first day we offer a no quibble pro rata refund to parents who have taken out our Customer Protection Plan. Please see Booking Conditions section 3 for full details on the Customer Protection Plan Insurance cover.

When you drop your child off, you’ll need to sign a register and give us details of anyone else who might be collecting them that evening. If the same person is not collecting in they evening we will request a copy of their signature too or if for unforseen circumstances your plans change we operate a password system to ensure your child’s safety is never compromised.

At Camp Beaumont, we offer our own travel insurance policy which is specially tailored to cover adventure activities. Our insurance is arranged through P J Hayman & Company Limited and insured by Union Reiseversicherung AG. The policy covers each camper who has paid the premium and whose name is shown on the booking confirmation. If you decide to take out your own travel insurance, we recommend that you check that the policy covers adventure holidays – as many policies don’t include these types of activities. Pre-travel Note 1. Your policy may not provide cover for re-occurring or pre-existing medical conditions unless you are aged under 16. If an insured-person 16 or over has ever had a heart related problem, a stroke, cancer, any breathing problems, diabetes or had any other medical condition which has been treated in hospital or has been referred to a specialist in the last 2 years they should phone Travellers Health Check, quoting Camp Beaumont on 08451 300 340 to see if cover is available. We will confirm any special terms in writing. We comply fully with the 2004 Children Act with a minimum staff to child ratio of 1:8 and are regularly inspected by the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA). So while your children are having fun, you can be sure they’re being well looked after.

Pre-travel and travel policies Note 2. You must tell us if your health or medication changes between booking your trip and travelling. Your policy may not continue to provide cover for re-occurring or pre-existing medical conditions, these will include any heart related problems, a stroke, cancer, any breathing problems, diabetes or any other medical condition which has been treated in hospital or has been referred to a specialist in the last 2 years you should phone Travellers Health Check, quoting Camp Beaumont, on 08451 300 340 to see if cover is available. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy carefully if you intend taking expensive items with you.
