Challenge Accepted

Long before the Raiders laid down roots in Las Vegas, the NFL was a huge part of the city, whether it was enjoying a game with friends at any of our bars and restaurants or placing bets at any of our welcoming sports books. But the NFL experience in here has changed dramatically in just a few short years. Last year, our city hosted its fi rst NFL Draft and, next year, we will host our fi rst Super Bowl! It’s all a bit surreal, to be honest, but, as I expected, Las Vegas has proven itself more than up to the challenge. After all, this city all but perfected the entertainment experience. Entertainment’s biggest stage? Bring it on!

But fi rst up is this year’s NFL Draft, and even though it will be held in Kansas City, Mo., we know plenty of you visiting this week will be wanting to check out the televised proceedings. We’ve rounded up a few of the best options for larger groups (“Make Your Selection,” p. 14). Plan accordingly, as seats are likely to be snapped up quick all over the Strip.

And there’s plenty more to keep you busy while you’re enjoying your stay. One of the best adults-only revues in town, ROUGE, is ready to entice and enthrall at The STRAT (“Beyond Burlesque,” p. 32), while David Blaine returns to Resorts World Las Vegas with his hit residency, In Spades (“Body of Work,” p. 36 ). Punk fans no doubt already have their tickets to see Iggy Pop bring his enormously influential catalog to the Pearl at Palms (“Lust For Life,” p. 38).

Anyone here a fan of the Cronut? The man who invented that pastry innovation, Dominique Ansel, has opened a shop at Caesars Palace, and you’ll fi nd plenty of other goodies there as well (“Baking Up Success,” p. 17 ).

There’s no challenge Las Vegas cannot meet. Head out there and see for yourself.

Brag-Worthy Breakfast

Start your day the right way at this N.Y. import

From breakfast to brunch and lunch, you’re going to find a lot to appreciate at Sadelle’s Café, an import from New York City that has been a huge hit ever since arriving here in 2019.

The restaurant itself is inviting—lots of Tiffany blue highlights, warm, inviting booths and impeccably appointed tables. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly, and always willing to help you out with any questions. You’ll feel instantly welcome here, especially when you start to sip on classic cocktails like Bellinis, mimosas and Bloody Marys.

Breakfast options all stress highest-quality ingredients and fresh flavors. You’ll definitely want to start your experience here with a bagel (your choice between plain, sesame, everything and cinnamon raisin), as Sadelle Café is famous for them—they are produced in-house under the direction of executive sous chef Minesh Mehta. They’re incredibly light and fluffy, a result of the amount of time spent proofing the dough. In addition to cream cheese, be sure to get all the accoutrements, from salmon and cucumbers to tomatoes and capers. Soooo good!

One of Sadelle’s Café’s biggest sellers is the avocado toast, and for good reason: Avocado is mixed with salt, pepper and lemon juice, on top of which pickled red onions and freshly sliced Fresno peppers and sliced avocado are piled. When you add in sea salt, lemon zest, cilantro and poppy seeds, you have a flavor bomb that you’ll be reluctant to share.

Even something as simple as a grapefruit half gets taken up a notch. This version, called grapefruit cocktail, is given a brûlée top with turbinado sugar, caramelized with a blowtorch. For those who love sugar on grapefruit, this is a unique treat.

Caviar is used liberally on the menu; enjoy it on any dish (for an additional price). I personally recommend the Bellagio Benedict, topped with Royal Baika caviar from Petrossian.

Make sure to plan a return trip for brunch or lunch. The real signature here is the fried chicken, so delicious with its accompaniment of truffle honey, coleslaw and French fries. But as with breakfast, everything on Sadelle’s Café’s menu is worth your time. –

Make Your Selection

For groups of all sizes, there’s no shortage of great NFL Draft viewing options throughout Las Vegas

Last year’s NFL Draft in Las Vegas was a massive success, with thousands lining the streets to get a glimpse of the proceedings. And while this year’s draft will be in Kansas City, Mo., that doesn’t mean you have to miss a single second of the action while enjoying yourself in Sin City this week. Find a seat at any of these venues, order yourself something from the menu, and get ready for some serious fun!

Circa Resort & Casino has multiple areas where you and your group can enjoy the proceedings. With this week’s amazing temperatures, you might want to consider Stadium Swim , which has a 143-foot-tall video screen so you can catch the action wherever you are at the massive pool complex, whether in the pool or in a cabana or on a daybed. No bathing suit? Head indoors to the three-story sportsbook Circa | Sports, containing stadium-style seating for more than 300 and featuring several screens made up of 78 million pixels.

Speaking of impressive sportsbooks, Westgate Las Vegas’ SuperBook offers free viewing throughout the facility, as well as VIP booths and pods (which can be reserved online). All the game-day food and drink spe-

cials the complex offers during the regular football season will be offered during this time. With its 60 high-definition flat-screen TVs, tons of taps, a seriously great food menu and the capacity for large groups, you may just live at TAP Sports Bar at MGM Grand for the entire event! Munch on TAP Nachos with the group (topped with pickled jalapeños, pico de gallo, guacamole, queso fresco, green onions, cilantro and cheese sauce) or order something for yourself. We recommend the chicken sandwich, flavored with pesto mayo and topped with the works on a hoagie roll.

For NFL Draft action with a side of island vibe, head to Margaritaville at Flamingo, which features seven bars and plenty of televisions—not to mention plenty of margarita options (because of course!).

If you’re staying downtown, Golden Nugget has you covered. Saltgrass Steak House contains a bar area with 23 televisions—as well as 28 whiskies, 15 tequilas, 10 vodkas … you get the idea. Baking Up Success

Award-winning pastry chef’s Vegas location keeps the surprises coming

The pastry scene on the Las Vegas Strip just became whole lot sweeter with the arrival of Dominique Ansel The bake shop, named after its James Beard Award-winning pastry chef, serves up some simply delectable versions of some of your favorites, as well as Ansel’s unique creation, the Cronut, a combination of a doughnut and a croissant.

As Ansel told Las Vegas Magazine upon the opening of his bakery at Caesars Palace, the Cronut came

out of a labor of love. “We wanted to create something special for Mother’s Day back in 2013, and my wife had suggested a doughnut, but I didn’t have any recipes for a doughnut—I’m French! We decided to create something that resembled the shape of a doughnut but using a laminated dough that’s similar to a croissant with those flaky layers and textures.”

Ansel spent two months perfecting the recipe, and the Cronut’s success is unquestioned. In fact, Ansel creates a

new item each month. Other creations include the Cookie Shot, a warm chocolate chip cookie shaped like a shot glass, served warm and filled to order with vanilla-infused milk, and the Frozen S’More, a ice cream version with a center of Madagascan vanilla ice cream covered with chocolate feuilletine, wrapped in honey marshmallow and torched on a smoked willow wood branch. Awe-Inspiring Art

Massive immersive experience is like no other on the Strip

The immersive art experience is a trend rapidly growing in Las Vegas— and that’s a very good thing. It’s one thing to experience art in a gallery; it’s a very different thing to find yourself feeling like you’re part of the artwork. The trend is helping to expose more of the public to the importance of art, its ability to change the way we see the world. The most recent of these, TRANSFIX , is the world’s largest touring immersive art experience, featuring some of the world’s most innovative artists.

The installation, which runs at Resorts World Las Vegas until fall of 2023, features more than 50 interactive artworks across a 200,000-square-foot, multilevel venue. Spend 90 to 120 minutes exploring the 2-acre labyrinth.

Trust us: This is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The art you’ll encounter ranges from monolithic, shape-shifting kinetics and mesmerizing tunnels to video installations and fire-breathing sculptures. The artists represented include Christopher Bauder & KiNK, Foldhaus Collective, Christopher Schardt, Playmodes, HOTTEA, Kevin Clark and many others.

Particular highlights include:

• Kate Raudenbush’s As Above, So Below, a 25-foot indigo and

mirrored pyramid that acts as a gathering space;

• Marco Cochrane’s R-Evolution, a 45-foot-tall sculpture depicting San Francisco-area dancer Deja Solis that contains 17 motors and weighs 32,000 pounds;

• Pablo Gonzalez Vargas’ ILUMINA, a 37-foot-tall interactive light and sound sculpture that invites participants to take part in an immersive, three-minutelong meditation.

In addition to the experience itself, TRANSFIX offers 10 artist-designed bars and speakeasies.

Tom Stinchfield, TRANSFIX co-founder and CEO, said the aim of his installation is “to elevate and redefine ‘immersive,’” in a prepared statement. “We believe that interacting with art at this large of a scale can change the world by illuminating one mind at a time. If we can inspire even a fraction of our guests to restore their childlike wonder and curiosity—or explore their own personal creativity and expression— we’ve done our jobs well.”

Enjoy some giggles at Las Vegas’ newest comedy club

It might be the newest kid on the comedy block, but the property that houses the Westgate Comedy Cabaret has a long, rich history of laughter throughout the years. Whether it was as The International or Las Vegas Hilton (the previous property names before changing to Westgate Las Vegas), its list of celebrity comics has included Eddie Murphy, Rodney Dangerfield, Norm Crosby, The Smothers Brothers and Phyllis Diller, and the tradition of laughter continues with an ever-rotating list

of some of comedy’s hardest-working stand-ups.

The lineup alternates weekly, but host Kathleen Dunbar is a constant (lucky for us!). She’s got plenty of material about not only her Las Vegas experiences (she pulls no punches!) but about aging and her attempts at dating. Also up this week: “Big Irish” Jay Hollingsworth.

Two comics I saw recently may rotate in and out of the lineup, depending on the week:

• Dennis Blair, whose musical stylings are absolutely hysterical. Take any classic rock song you can think of, and odds are Blair has a take on it that you won’t see coming;

• Nikki Carr, who performed on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, who has plenty to say about facing your greatest fears—in a strong and encouraging (but hilarious) way. –Ken Miller

A Natural Wonder

Open your eyes to the incredible Southwest

One of the most beautiful areas of the country is also one of the most rugged— the Grand Canyon, which winds through the American Southwest. The canyon itself is huge, covering 1,900 square miles, and has several access points for viewing, including Grand Canyon West ’s Skywalk, a relatively short drive from Las Vegas on Hualapai tribal lands. At Hualapai Point, learn about the tribe and check out artifacts in the cultural center. Then at the Skywalk, enjoy one of the most unusual experiences you will ever have—seemingly floating over the Grand Canyon. A curved bridge hangs over the canyon with a walkway constructed primarily of glass, helping with that illusion. Underneath you, it’s thousands of feet down to the canyon floor. You can also catch amazing views while at Eagle Point and Guano Point, both historical areas.

There are plenty of other things that you will find to do in the area, with the town of Peach Springs providing a place to launch from. Try helicopter rides over the canyon, or ziplining through the rugged terrain. You can even float down the Colorado River on a pontoon boat. For a more exciting ride, try a whitewater adventure. –Nina

A Smokin’ Experience

Aria’s new cigar program is a big hit with guests

Ricardo Smenner is the man, the man with the cigar plan, at Aria. With an extensive background in the cigar industry—more than 15 years, with some of that time spent at a boutique cigar factory where he learned about the complete production of cigars—he brought his knowledge to the property in 2021 and launched an exclusive cigar program for guests of Sky Villas.

“I designed a whole program— built a cigar cart, got rare and

exclusive limited cigars and I (made) a house blend that I personally curated for Aria’s Sky Villas guests,” Smenner said. “Because of the success that we’ve had with the Villas’ cigar program, we decided to go into the next phase and do an extension of the cigar program in our lounges.”

You can find Smenner’s cigar program inside three Aria lounges: Lift Bar, High Limit Lounge and Baccarat Lounge. Each lounge offers its own list of quality cigars at varying

prices. “At Lift Bar, the selections are more on the classic, traditional, many (that) one could find at a cigar shop,” he said. “Then you go into the higher tier at High Limit and Baccarat, and the quality and standards are much higher for those cigars. Baccarat has the highest tier.” (Prices start at $25 in all lounges, with $50 max at Lift and $75 max at High Limit and Baccarat).

At Lift, find selections that include Arturo Fuente Chateau,

Camacho Connecticut and Padron 1964 Anniversary Presidente Natural. At High Limit, you’ll see cigars like Rocky Patel Decade, Montecristo White Label and Cohiba Red Dot; Baccarat offers choices like Davidoff Aniversario No. 3, Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles and Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story.

Smenner has personally trained each bartender at each lounge so they can assist guests with the cigar experience. “They are more than capable of the task of cutting and lighting the cigars and explaining the cigars,” he said. “However, I am usually on the floor walking around, and when a guest is ordering a cigar and I happen to be there, I will always stop and assist with the explanation of the cigars and the selection that pairs well with a spirit or cocktail. I also help with the cut and the light and the explanation of the cigars. If they want to understand more about it, I’ll dive into the history of the cigars.”

Smenner has paid careful attention when selecting the cigars for each lounge, so that each one pairs well with specialty cocktails and spirits offered at the bar. Some of his favorite cocktail pairings include a classic Sazerac or Zacapa XO

rum, served neat. “You think back hundreds of years and rum was a big trading product of the time as well as tobacco, and so those have always been paired together over hundreds of years,” he said. “The heat from the cigar brings out the flavor of the rum.”

But Smenner is careful to point out, “I want the guest to have the cocktail that they want, and then I pair the cigar with what they prefer with a spirit,” he said.

At High Limit and Baccarat lounges, guests are sure to be especially impressed with the spirits’ list at both venues, with labels that include Buffalo Trace, Pappy Van Winkle and Macallan, just to name a few. “These two lounges offer some of the most high-end spirits, rare spirits, Scotches, bourbons and cognac,” he said.

Manager keeps business booming at dayclub

As the customer development manager for Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, Mikey Becerra is, as he puts it, “paying it forward. I’ve learned from previous employees, watching their hard work and education they’ve gone through and then taught me how to be successful and how to work hard,” he says. “Now I’m turning around and teaching the next generation. I want to be a role model and someone people can look up to.”

Becerra joined Daylight in 2015 after entering the nightlife industry in

L.A. in 2013. Becerra quickly moved up the ladder at hot spots like Drai’s Hollywood, and eventually Drai’s in Las Vegas at The Cromwell. He now “takes care of the big customers—VIPs, celebrities,” Becerra says. “I help the sales team, help manage the hosts, bring in business to Daylight.”

Becerra loves how cutting edge the dayclub has stayed during its tenure. “We’ve been open a decade and brought EDM DJs in, then we switched it up to being a hip-hop pool bringing in Rick Ross, Post Malone,” he says.

chocolate syrup. Oh, so yummy. For a really fabulous start, try The Boss’s Old Fashioned, an inventive drink that’s smoked with cherrywood right in front of you. Along with Woodford Reserve bourbon, sugar, two types of bitters and a splash of soda, the fragrance is an integral ingredient.

Please order the ketchup-spiced house potato chips and dip—the house-made chips have an incredible flavor, as does the pepper jack cheese fondue, and that flavor certainly belies the simplicity of the dish. To wow the whole table, order Jack Binion’s colossal seafood tower, a beautifully built edifice constructed with the freshest seafood available.

The signature Bloody Mary Shaken & Stirred wedge salad comes with a vinaigrette, which is shaken tableside by your server. It looks like a Bloody Mary, and the flavor is much like the drink—it’s even served with accoutrements like blue cheese-stuffed olives, bacon and fried green tomato.

Jack Binion’s Steak’s signature entrées, like slow-roasted prime rib in three sizes, trés tender filet mignon, and wagyu rib cap, can be enhanced by lump crab, shrimp scampi or a

decadent lobster tail, plus sauces from chimichurri to béarnaise.

Other classic steakhouse dishes like rotisserie chicken and scallops are sure to leave you fully satisfied. The half chicken comes with bourbon barbecue baked beans, an excellent accompaniment. Black pepper cream shrimp is exactly what is sounds like, and the polenta cake it is served with is a welcome addition.

There are plenty of sides to round out any corners you might have, from Jack Binion’s baked potato (a massive

spud with a boatload of toppings) to ranch-spiced onion strings.

Should you have dessert? Yes—yes you should! Crème brûlée, banana cream pie and cheesecake will tempt you, but the apple cobbler is delish, served with a sweet biscuit and ice cream. And the chocolate layer cake is enormous! It’s a decadent slice, covered in chocolate buttercream frosting with pretzel streusel and a bourbon white chocolate sauce. It’s best shared, but you might have to forego the cobbler then, and that would be a tragedy. Order both.

Steamy, ribald ROUGE rises to the occasion for adult audiences

Expectations will be high for a show that bills itself as “the sexiest show in Vegas” as ROUGE does. The nightly neo-burlesque show does not disappoint, with a wink and a 20-member cast of really, really, good-looking performers whose costume changes sometimes leave them exposed during their steamy, sensual acts.

Sexualized skits alternate with acrobatic feats and choreography as Dr. Libido, a self-proclaimed “surgeon of sex” dressed in steampunk finery and a white top hat, plays the master of ceremonies for the proceedings.

The good doctor, assisted by buxom Nurse Naughty, seems to have an accent with a New Orleans twang. That and an early sketch set in 18th-century France are aspects of the show most directly tied to its title. That is, the French word for “red” lends itself well to presenting Parisian-style entertainment or Crescent City ribaldry, but ROUGE expands beyond being a modern version of Folies Bergère

That long-running show at the Tropicana tried to revise its formulas of showgirls mixed with musical numbers unsuccessfully before closing in 2009. It really needed a complete overhaul to reach the level that ROUGE occupies now. One key element that makes ROUGE click with audiences is the breaking of the barrier between the stage and showroom. Performers with a flair for bondage fashion engage in a di erent kind of immersion before the show, with some pairing up on platforms for erotic entanglements and others mingling with guests.

Sometimes they get very close, but like most of their professional peers, ROUGE cast members are good at reading the crowd for those who might be amenable to a close encounter. The same applies to Dr. Libido, who chooses a few audience members to flirt with and lightly embarrass throughout the show. There are participation segments once the crowd is warmed up from all the heat coming from the stage.

The action is augmented by large video screens at the side of the stage that provide close-ups of the gorgeous cast members. Strap acts have been done before, but never in a tantalizing tandem that ends with both performers forming a star with their bodies. “Light My Fire” kicks o a soundtrack that includes Nina Simone’s version of “I Put a Spell on You,” which captures the sophisticated spirit ROUGE exudes throughout the various acts of acrobatic strength and gravity-defying choreography.

There are beautiful bodies everywhere. There are transfixing acts such as a siren splashing in an oversized martini glass, hand balancers and full-cast dance routines. And there are costumes, some of which leave little to the imagination, others that evoke laughter.

ROUGE creator Hanoch Rosènn combined his experience developing previous productions Extravaganza and WOW–The Vegas Spectacular with “sexpertise” to evolve a concept of risqué variety show as adult playground, the foundation for what could indeed be the sexiest show in Vegas. How successful that realized vision turned out is a matter for the eyes of the beholders.

Imaginative prosthetics create a thought-provoking display at Bodies … The Exhibition

Possibly one of the most interesting attractions on the Strip, Bodies …The Exhibition puts on display the marvels of the human body. From full human skeletons to preserved organs and nerves, the exhibits here are astonishing. Not to mention, the educational content is vast, with informational videos and signage that cover topics like athletics and mental health, or simply include some fun facts. But there’s one section in particular that adds to the depth of this exhibit like no other.

In collaboration with the Alternative Limb Project, Bodies…The Exhibition includes imaginative prosthetic limbs that meld the functional art form of creating artificial appendages with surrealistic and fanciful concepts. Each created for a di erent purpose, these pieces often reflect the amputee’s interests or contribute to a larger piece of performance art.

“All the limbs are completely unique; all completely di erent … My background is making realistic-looking limbs for amputees, and then I just started thinking, back in 2011, there wasn’t really much available for people. It was either people who would have the components on show, or they would blend into society by having something realistic,” de Oliveira Barata told Las Vegas Magazine. “And there’s definitely a place for that, but I just felt that there could be something that

The moment I saw all the cardboard boxes stacked up on the left side of the stage at David Blaine’s Resorts World Las Vegas show, In Spades, I knew it was going to be a memorable evening. And sure enough, once the show started, it only took a few minutes for my hands to begin sweating.

Blaine, the man who has made defying death a way of life, wasted no time in revealing what those boxes were for. Su ce it to say, it’s certifiably insane (you might have heard the recent reports of Blaine injuring his shoulder at a recent show; this is the stunt that caused it).

But as staggering as this mini-performance was, it was only the beginning of the experience. Those who have seen all Blaine’s various feats of endurance on television (as well as his groundbreaking magic specials, in which he travels the globe and blows the minds of people from all cultures and creeds) will have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this evening. And even for those who know what’s coming, Blaine doesn’t disappoint.

In Spades is a mix of everything Blaine is famous for. You will see him:

• Pierce various body parts, always producing not a single drop of blood;

• Venture into the audience with nothing but a deck of cards and have everyone gobsmacked within minutes;

• Produce objects from his esophagus that do not seem physically possible;

• Break a long-standing physical endurance record, all while children are invited onstage during said stunt to give him fi st bumps and pose for selfies.

One of the best things about In Spades is the expressions on the faces of the volunteers Blaine brings onstage. As an audience members blurted out, “You’re crazy, man!” And the audience laughed in agreement. It’s all alternatively exhilarating and exhausting, and the show’s fi nal act sees Blaine sitting on some stairs on the side of the stage, talking to the audience as he recovers from the toll the show takes on him. He fully admits that it’s a bit crazy to think the show can last for long—after all, the stunts he performs in just under two hours took him years to perfect, and are meant to be performed individually, not back-to-back.

In other words, see this show while you can. It’s quintessentially Vegas in its showmanship and its wow factor, and it’s one you’ll be telling all your friends about long after you’ve left the theater. Blaine has been a polarizing figure throughout his career; some have said he’s a fraud, while others have questioned whether he truly puts himself at risk. But with In Spades, Blaine proves himself one of the top performers currently on the Strip. I saw the show weeks ago, and just remembering it, my palms begin to sweat again.

Punk rock legend Iggy Pop brings

decades of iconic music to Las Vegas

Iggy Pop has always surrounded himself with beautiful losers, from Ron and Scott Asheton in The Stooges to his current band, succinctly dubbed The Losers. Consisting of guitarists Jamie Hince and Andrew Watt, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Chad Smith, the lineup is only committed to exist for five live dates in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas, but without a doubt will contribute to an exciting chapter in Pop’s long and winding career.

That chapter began with the January release of Pop’s latest album Every Loser. With production wunderkind Watt (Eddie Vedder,

Ozzy Osbourne) in charge of recording, Smith pounded his set for a majority of the album, including on standout tracks “Frenzy,” “Strung Out Johnny” and “Modern Day Ripoff.” Guns ‘N’ Roses founding member McKagan played on several tracks with Watt and Jane’s Addiction bassists Eric Avery and Chris Chaney handled the low end for the rest of the album. Hince is sort of the odd man out with no credits on the album, but even a cursory listen to the music he and Alison Mosshart have made as avant-garde rockers The Kills demonstrates how generations that came in the wake of Pop’s rise to fame have fruitfully expanded on his musical aesthetics. Few of Pop’s classmates in the college town of Ann Arbor would have predicted he would become

one of the most dynamic live frontmen to ever prowl a con- cert stage, but that’s exactly what happened to the son of schoolteacher parents.

Pop’s mom and pop let young James Osterberg turn the master bedroom of their trailer home into a drum rehearsal space, and by age 14 he became part of the Southern Michigan music scene. Bob Seger, The MC5 and ? and the Mysterians

(“96 Tears”) were part of the live circuit Pop followed, and a job at a record store led to connecting with the Asheton brothers.

Pop taught Scott Asheton to play drums and, with Dave Alexander on bass, The Stooges set about creating a sound influenced by The Rolling Stones, John Coltrane, James Brown and the rhythmic sound of machine presses familiar to kids brought up in industrial areas. The Stooges recorded two proto-punk albums before collapsing in the wreckage of Pop’s heroin addiction. Thus began the cycle of self-destruction and renewal that would characterize Pop’s career for nearly two de-

cades. A meeting with David Bowie in the early ’70s would spark his creativity through that decade, with Hunt and Tony Fox Sales becoming the next brothers to back Pop for 1977’s Lust for Life.

Pop’s songwriting had been influenced by the brothers’ father Soupy Sales, whose request that fans of his children’s show limit fan mail word length to 25 words directly inspired the minimalist lyricism of classic Stooges songs such as “1969” and “I Wanna Be Your Dog.”

Watt’s empathy for artists he grew up listening to was well applied to Every Loser Expect Pop to play three or four songs from the new album amidst a heaping helping of Stooges and solo classics.

access to the inside and outside of 10 mid-century homes in the historic neighborhood of Beverly Green. Stop and check out houses like the Lava House, a home built in 1963 that has been restored to its former glory, complete with lava rock fireplace and vintage tiki décor in the lounge and bar areas.

Another fun tour includes the Chic + Fab Walking Tour, also through the Beverly Green neighborhood. Guided by a NPF volunteer, guests can check out the mid-century homes through four

tracks spread over five blocks. See homes that belonged to families that helped build Las Vegas, such as the Peterson family, owners of the famed Westward Ho hotel and the home of the Doumani family, the builders of the La Concha Motel.

Other tours during the Home + History Las Vegas weekend includes the Paradise Palms Neighborhood tour, where guests will not only see impressive architecture but also learn the storied past of homes in the neighborhood. There is also the Martini Tour: Elvis Slept Here, a

special look into the over-the-top penthouse suite at Westgate Las Vegas, where Elvis stayed during his historic run of concerts (when it was called The International).
