brate e l e c e w o d n Since whe

and why? In 1907, there was a woman from Philadelphia, USA. Her name was Ann Jarvis and she had a wish. She wanted the government to establish an official date to celebrate mothers. With her friends’ help, Ann started advertising this petition. They used leaflets and newspaper articles. But the authorities didn’t do anything about it. Then Ann organized the first mother’s celebration in a church. It took place on May 10, 1908. It wasn’t until 1923 that president Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official. Mexico celebrated Mother’s Day for the first time in 1911. However, it didn’t become an official celebration until 1922. People say that spring is when plenitude emerges. And it is absolutely true! Most people feel renewed with the arrival of spring. Such vitality has a chemical explanation. Spring stimulates the body to produce pheromones, oxitocin, dopamine, and noradrenalin. These hormones make you feel more attracted to people. As a result, you feel happier. Besides, there’s more sunlight in spring. Consequently, we produce more endorphin and serotonin, which reduce stress.

Spring: time to break hearts A scientific study made questions to 10,000 Facebook users. It discovered various surprising facts. First, too many couples break up in spring and summer. Second, people choose Mondays to post they’re single on Facebook. So be kind and gentle with your beloved one in spring! Unless you’re thinking of breaking their heart first.

Spring and energy: how are they related?

What are organic products?

Ghost season

Everyone loves spring, right? But did you know there’s no spring in many countries? Half the planet doesn’t enjoy spring as we do! The reason? Spring happens only in temperate areas of our mother Earth. Tropical areas have a different story. There are only two seasons: dry and rainy. The Southern Hemisphere has a spring but... in September! This happens in countries like Argentina and Chile, for example. Fascinating, isn’t it?

They’re products that result from environmentally friendly methods. This means their production is free of harmful chemical substances. Also, production practices seek to maintain nutrients underground. Besides and most importantly, these products have a certification. How does this happen? Wellknown institutions supervise the production process. These certifying organizations guarantee these products are 100% organic.

In November last year he presented his latest album 57th & 9th. It has sold very well everywhere. He’s now on a world tour and Mexico is included. Sting is simply a fantastic singer and composer. His lyrics about ecology and human rights make him remarkably unique.

Our beloved Spanish singer and poet is coming back to Auditorio Nacional this May. He’ll delight us with his latest album Lo niego todo. Singer and songwriter Leiva produced this music material. Poet Benjamín Prado also got involved in this project. It isn’t the first time Prado has collaborated with Sabina. They both wrote some songs together for Sabina’s Vinagre y rosas album. No doubt he’ll delight us with such emotive, realistic and fun lyrics. You can’t miss out this magnificent concert for true bohemians.

We’re living in a changing digital era that adapts to young people every day. This new generation known as Millennials no longer invests in what previous generations used to. According to Time Magazine, Millennials won’t spend their cash on the following goods or services. What do you think?

Financial markets

This generation grew up in the middle of harsh devaluations of the peso. That’s why specialists say Millennials won’t invest in a stock market. Instead, they may well have a hiding place for their money. Besides, many of them know very little about investment or fund plans to save and make money.

Wholesale stores

One of the main characteristics of this generation is thinking small. They aren’t going to buy toilet paper for the whole year! The same goes for house supplies that can last for so long. Not having their own house means every inch of their space is sacred. They don’t really want to flood themselves with unnecessary products. Instead, this generation spends the most on trendy restaurants, catering, fast food, etc.

Habits to Achieve Success

When talking about successful youths, you might think about Facebook’s creator, Mark Zuckerberg. Did you know he owns a

fortune of around

$50 billion dollars? Anyway, the thing is

such accomplishments aren’t easy to make true. But

they aren’t

impossible, either. Sean Covey said there are seven habits that can make anyone successful, including you.

20

1. Be proactive

This is key to triggering the other habits. Take control of your life. Proactive people must understand they’re responsible for their own happiness or misery. Don’t blame others for your own actions or feelings.

Do you think these habits ar e easy or difficult to follow? Give th em a try today and the day afte r and succeed. As the saying goes , life is a one-time offer, use it well.

2. Begin with the end in mind

You might be unsure about your life, values, and goals. You could even be wondering who you really are. Don’t waste your time thinking about other people’s opinion. Focus on what target you’re aiming at. How does it project you in the future? Say your goal and write it once and again. In the end, it’s all about a mission you want to accomplish in life. Making it your personal mantra can help you face life with a clearer mind.

3. Put first things first

This practice helps you prioritize and manage you time. You’ll concentrate on completing the most important things in life. Putting first things first also means learning to overcome fears. Be strong when times get tough and live life according to what matters most.

4. Think Win-Win

Foster the belief that it’s possible to create an environment where you can win. There’s a simple principle underlying this habit. Any discussion or situation can lead to a mutually beneficial solution. Learn to celebrate others people’s achievements instead of feeling threatened by them.

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

Listening involves paying attention, but most people don’t. One of the biggest frustrations in life is feeling no one understands you. This habit is about acquiring the greatest ability to communicate: active listening. It’s crucial to empathize with others.

6. Synergeniztweo or more people work

Synergy happens wh ind ething better. Have in m m so e at cre to er th ge to ng “your way” by developi that things needn’t be r better by adopting a fa this habit. Things can be ts us perspective. Synergy le superior and collective and people around us. appreciate differences

7. Sharpen the saw

There’s no need to live such busy a life and forget about you. When you sharpen the saw you keep focused on yourself. This also means you become stronger to face challenges. Renew your mind, body, and spirit and continue active for whatever comes.

Who’s an influencer and what does it take to become one?

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, are the favorite platforms Latino llowers. influencers use to reach their fo 26

Journalists, actors, politicians, and someone with a presence in the media (newspapers, radio or TV) have always been considered trustworthy opinion leaders. But the boom of social networks and Internet apps changed this trend. All sorts of opinions can reach audiences more actively and closely nowadays. It is young people in particular who now want to inform their generation using different media. Above all, they want to make use of the freedom of speech they cannot find anywhere else.

Who’s an influencer?

a great It’s the person who has orks presence in social netw their and exer ts influence on followers.

YouTube gave birth to current influencers Facebook was the first social network that made people get closer regardless of their location. Nevertheless, it was YouTube the platform youths chose to create online content and gather huge numbers of followers. That’s how we got to meet Werevertumorro or Caelike, two young videobloggers that humorously presented adults’ behavior towards new generations. They also said bluntly what every youngster had in mind but didn’t dare say out loud. Currently, two crews dominate YouTube in Mexico. One is W2M (Werevertumorro), who has 1,810,571 followers and his own channel with 12,917,249 subscribers. The other is No me revientes (Yayo Gutiérrez) with 2,044,523 followers. This last crew’s member Luisito Comunica has 4,614,152 followers in his personal channel, not bad at all.

Chumel Torres is an influencer who has made his own way. His YouTube channel El pulso de la República has 1,830,164 followers. Such has been his success that he’s exported his show Chumel con Chumel to cable channel HBO GO. We hope this leap will boost his career unlike other influencers who lose credibility after joining traditional media channels. Ramiro Fumazoni Where Talent and Charm Meet At Once

Ramiro was studying management in his native Argentina when, at the age of 19, he had the opportunity to come to Mexico to try his luck as a model for only three months. Since then, he has lived in different countries and has excelled both at modeling and acting.

Ramiro is an extroverted man who began working as a model to make a living while studying, but the countless job opportunities to work with Glenda Reyna’s Agency made him continue traveling outside Argentina. After completing a four-month contract in Mexico, he moved to the United States, then Korea for two months, and Japan

for another four months. Later, he went to Taiwan for two months, and Hong Kong for another two. All these visits were part of his work in the world of modeling because Reyna sent him to model for clothing catalogs. Later, he tried his luck with a home remodeling business in 2006 with the boom in real estate, but a major debacle made him lose all the money he had invested. However, the unconditional support of his wife, Jessica, encouraged him to get over this defeat. Also, his friends and fellow citizens,

Getting ready and enjoying improvisation Since then, he hasn’t stopped working on different projects as an actor. Thanks to the opportunity to perform on TV, in movies and comedy theatre, he says that what he enjoys most is the latter. “I enjoy theatre a lot because it’s live and the reaction is straightforward as the audience is in front of you. I started a little old, at 34, and now I am 45. Humberto Zurita gave me my first chance on stage and together we co-starred a soap opera with Edith González for TV Azteca in 2013, Vivir a Destiempo.” “One day, Humberto asked me to take part in the play: Papito Querido, and we

had a blast. He was my director. We went on stage with lots of people watching us and the feeling was just amazing. In stage acting you can improvise and get the gist of it. I think we did well together because the audience was laughing all the time. I later appeared in Una Eva y Tres Galanes, which we may set up again this year,” says Ramiro while keeping an eye on little Bianca’s food and making sure Ramiro Junior doesn’t wake up crying. He says films are different since there are too many takes and repetitions. He reveals his film Ficción a Domicilio will be released this year, casting Ana Layevska, Oswaldo de León, Guillermo Iván, and other talented actors. Ramiro told us he prepares hard for every character he chooses, but he also likes to be directed. He thinks it’s really important to listen to the directors and go along with them. “If you team up with the directors, and if you listen and let them guide you, you’re likely to do a better job. Before they get started with the project, the directors already have the plot and every character perfectly clear.”

A man of great challenges There is another challenge that he’d like to face soon: to play a character with a disability. “There are techniques to cry and that kind of things, but playing a disability is a lot more difficult. I remember the movie Monster, with which I felt great respect for Charlize Theron. How could a gorgeous woman play an alcoholic and drug addict? Besides, she had to put up weight.”

Juan and Maki Soler, encouraged him to have a go in acting. In 2006, Fumazoni met with wellknown teacher and director René Pereyra to test himself and find out if he had the talent to pursue such a profession. “I told him: ‘Let’s not waste your time or mine, if I don’t have the talent for this, just tell me. I won’t become an actor just because of my blue eyes,’” he remembers. “I started studying with René. During our second class, he asked me to do a monolog. He said I could continue studying and I took classes for a year and a half, three times a week, six hours a day. I later took accent reduction training, which didn’t work,” he jokes. “I also trained in accent reduction with Miguel Ángel Gabriel at Televisa.” In 2007, TV Azteca called me to co-star mi first soap opera with Omar Fierro and Anna Ciocchetti,” he says.

When I ask him if he considers himself a good actor, he blushes and says he prefers the public to decide. He firmly adds that people believe in actors when they can convey feelings and emotions with their eyes, such as Christian Bale and Leonardo Di Caprio, both of whom he admires. The interview is coming to an end, but Ramiro doesn’t mind sharing something else: apart from his film to be released this year, he has a project for teens with Nickelodeon. He adds he’s already recorded two pilot chapters and the series might be broadcast in August. Nevertheless, at this stage of his life, being a full-time father of his twins is what inspires him most: “I love being a dad. After the interview, I will put my sneakers on and take them to the park to play with them.”
