is an unconventional expression in the visual arts, which is
created in response to major changes in multiple enabling technologies and the involvement of machine intelligence into artistic creation in the age of AI and Smart Machines. It intervenes into, communicates to, and transforms other artistic compositions. And it is brought to life through a broken-for-new process in which the old form of an object is broken and re-configured to create a new meaning. The new style is characterized by extremes, the minimalist(极简）, deepest and smartest formality—which is purified for a spiritual healing purpose. The whole process is powered by Samsung Galaxy smart technologies, aiming to visually contrast ‘the world as it is’ with ‘the world as it should be’. It ends with the creation of a new role set (srs) or background within the virtual context of Apple computer-based technologies. Srs is the central symbolic element of Smart Zen whose purpose and practice are user-defined and consistent with an ever-changing virtual setting or background (i.e. an endless process). The ‘I-decide-who-I-am’ style echoes the Apple founder’s Zen spirit— ‘finding the truth from within’. Technological advances have not only helped to break down the wall of communication between past and now, but also made possible a remarkable change in accessing art, doing art and thinking art. ‘The new tools make the best of our caring (Bill Gates).’ My caring is for eliminating an inequality in conceptualizing art between the trained and untrained artists and for the persistent quest for virtue.
