BELIEVE IMAGINE CREATE A BETTER TOMORROW

27 JUNE - 01 JULY

CYL 2022 This year we are excited to build on the foundations of our ‘doing the right thing’ campaign which was a hallmark of Challenge Your Limits 2021 by focusing on the concept of creating a better tomorrow. We are working with a range of alumnae and external organisations who are seeking to create a more positive, kinder and compassionate world in their endeavours, whether this is through social enterprise, a focus on wellbeing or a commitment to improving the sustainability of our planet. In 2022 our Challenge Your Limits Week coincides with World WellBeing Week which is focusing on the many aspects of wellbeing, from meaningful, purposeful work to financial security, physical, mental and emotional health, social resilience and empathic corporate and civic leadership, community relations and care for the environment. The week is celebrating the positive aspects that came out of the pandemic: our huge capacity for change, different ways of thinking, and a new-found resilience. We are very pleased to be focusing on wellbeing in its many guises, and how it can help us create a better tomorrow, in the activities we have planned for CYL 2022. Challenge Your Limits began eight years ago as a programme designed to shine a spotlight on the importance of resilience as a means of overcoming fear of failure and perfectionism. The centrality of resilience to personal and professional fulfilment remains at the heart of our messaging. In 2022 we are proud to consider this in relation to the role of our generation of students who have the potential to be profoundly influential in the creation of a better tomorrow for everyone. ‘Believe, Create, Imagine’ are our key words this year and we hope they will inspire you all to embrace optimism about what the future could hold. We would like to thank the PTFA for their generous sponsorship of this event. We are very appreciative of this support. I would also like to thank the student committee for their boundless energy, enthusiasm and support for the week. They have been stars.

Anna Paul, Senior Deputy Head (Pastoral)

He has spoken at over 450 schools, businesses, universities and conferences around the world about his passion for the emotional and mental health of young people. Dick is an instructor for Mental Health First Aid, and a speaker for the Charlie Waller Trust. Dick has appeared on BBC Breakfast, ITN News, BBC Radio 5 Live and numerous local radio stations. THE KINDNESS OF HUMAN KIND

Mr Corish is half-French and half-Irish. While growing up he moved quite a lot between France and Ireland. During his mechanical engineering studies he made the most of his summers back-packing in South America, working on organic farms in Africa and cycling across Europe. In 2014, having finished his masters, he embarked on quite a different journey. Closer to home, he decided to walk from his native village in the south of France, diagonally across France, cross the sea to Ireland and walk around the island of Ireland to finish in his home town in Dublin. A total of 3,000km, he depended solely on the spontaneity and generosity of people he met along the way - he took no money, no credit cards, no backpack, no phone, no maps. Come and hear the story of the four month journey!

JULIAN BELL

Mr Bell, author, debating expert and former Head of English at Godolphin and Latymer, will be back to give a debating workshop in the PE Viewing Gallery. Learn to use your debating and listening skills to campaign for a better tomorrow.
