From Mountain Passes to the Costa del Sol

• Hone your Spanish skills by interviewing local people • Spend time with a host sibling and join their family • Learn to dance flamenco with a professional instructor • Hike to the summit of the tallest peak in Spain

Destination • Travel to Spain’s northern coast and hike in the Picos de Europa mountains. Visit Madrid and take a day trip to explore the history and culture of Segovia or Toledo. Travel south to Granada and finish the program in a small town on the Mediterranean.

Language Learning • Take a language pledge to speak in Spanish and participate in field-based lessons that are dynamic, fun, and designed to empower you to speak and live like a local. Interview a street vendor at an outdoor market or strike up a conversation in a café. Spend a week in daystays paired with a local teenager and practice speaking Spanish with your host family.

Activities • Take a surf lesson and play soccer on the beach on Spain’s northern coast. Hike spectacular trails in the Picos de Europa mountains, explore Madrid, and visit Granada’s ancient fortress, La Alhambra. Take a flamenco lesson and enjoy the sun and sand on the gorgeous Costa del Sol.

Pursue your passion as you work alongside practicing professionals in a variety of fields. Get hands-on experience and gain insight into possible career paths and opportunities that await you.

Travel to where your interests come alive and get inspired by the people you meet. Dig into food and culture in Italy, the business of sports in Barcelona, zoology and veterinary science in Belize, and more.

Produce an independent project to explore an aspect of veterinary science, sports management, farming, or conservation of particular interest to you. Follow new ideas, gain new perspectives, and return home ready to blaze your own path.
