Born and bred on the Gold Coast, I can’t imagine living anywhere else, then right here this amazing City, with fond childhood memories growing up in a little beach house Hedges Avenue spending long days on the beach with friends and family. After a few years attending St Hilda’s finishing school at Merrimac High. Always being drawn to Marketing, Promotions and Events paved the way forward to study and work in the events field. Being one for loving life most of my 20's were spent as an Events Promotions and Marketing Consultant for various licensed venues and hotels throughout Queensland, which then lead to my first company Procon Leisure International, hosting glamour modelling events national and worldwide
such as Maxim Swimwear Model, Miss Indy, Miss Supercars and Manhunt. These events weren’t just about modelling, I built the events to empower young ladies with knowledge, tools and the skills they require to be confident, gain self-belief to overcome adversity & any underlying selfdoubt issues. Moving forward a few years my Events Consulting Business keeps me extremely busy working with some of the Gold Coast’s biggest events and brands enjoying every moment along the way. My number one life lesson is hard work, honesty and integrity, always find the humour in dark situations and hold tight to your family, leave all the haters behind!
BRONWEN HEMMINGS Marketing Manager at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa Gold Coast Growing up in country Victoria, I moved to the Gold Coast 15 years ago yearning for a seaside change. Immediately falling in love with the Coast, I wouldn’t want to call anywhere else home. So many aspirational women lead the business scene on the Gold Coast, of which I continually meet many on a regular basis. My biggest inspiration would have to be my mum, with a career spanning many industries, her determination and strength has taught me to persist at any opportunity you wish to achieve, and you will. Having started my career on the Gold Coast at Southport Yacht Club, I experienced many once in a lifetime opportunities working alongside a team of fantastic leaders, who I often refer to as my extended family. Moving to Surfers Paradise Marriott almost three years ago, the journey began
to refurbish a hotel icon, with a $35 million dollar rebrand to the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa. This involved extensive collaborations and strategies to debut the JW brand to Australia. An opportunity I am extremely privileged to have been a part of and an achievement I am proud to have made with the team. I continue to meet extraordinary talent within our industry, and one day hope to mentor others just like my mentors do with me now. When offline, I love to travel, although not much of late, I am sure we will again soon. As I continue to learn and grow in myself each and every day, always remember to be true to who you are, and always be yourself.
