Presentation It is a province for infinite sensual enjoyment Huelva is light, it is sea, it is nature, it is life. With more than 3,000 hours of sunlight per year, enjoy an enviable climate at about 18 degrees on average and the greatest number of sunny days in Spain, offering endless possibilities to explore and get to know it. Its varied landscape lets you appreciate its infinite beaches and lush forests that lead to quiet, white villages with a long history in their streets, where you can breathe in the calm of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, or the sound of nature in Doñana National Park. All this, sprinkled with a rich historical and cultural heritage with the greatest native gastronomy of all Europe. The origin of the greatest feat of humanity, Huelva has traces of the Discovery of America in its Lugares Colombinos. The Gothic Mudejar style monastery of Santa María de La Rábida, a place of prayer for Columbus before his departure, houses some spectacular frescoes by Daniel Vázquez Díaz. Nearby, the Muelle de las Carabelas (Caravels Harbour) houses replicas of the ships that took sailors to the New World. The municipalities of Palos de la Frontera and Moguer also have an aura of the expedition in their streets and museums. To get here, there are two airports in Seville and Faro, each less than an hour away, both connected by a motorway. These bring any European destination closer, at only three hours by plane. To the north, the road crosses one of the most spectacular areas--the mining area and the Tinto River--enclaves that captivate the visitor.

Nature Get to know the more natural and intense life of every corner of Huelva A third of Huelva’s territory is classified as Protected Natural Space. Highlighted among these are the Doñana Natural Lands, the Marismas del Odiel Natural Park, and the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park. Denominated as a Biosphere Reserve since 1980, Doñana’s 122,000 hectares hosts the greatest diversity of flora and fauna in Europe, including the Iberian lynx breeding centre. It is also a resting place for a large number of migratory birds, which makes it an ideal destination for birdwatching. The Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche is a place of great heritage and natural beauty. Next to its extraordinary landscapes, it has more than 700 km of trails, perfectly signposted for travelling on foot, on horseback, or by bicycle. Each of its 31 municipalities offers a wide range of monuments to visit. At the junction of the Tinto and Odiel rivers, the almost 7,200 hectares of the Marismas del Odiel Natural Land stand out for their ecological richness, which has the largest colony of pink flamingos in Europe and is a breeding ground for osprey. With more than 120 kilometres of coastline, 80 of them protected and undeveloped, the land between the mouths of the Guadiana, in Ayamonte, and the Guadalquivir, in the heart of Doñana, makes up the varied coastline of Huelva, mostly formed by pristine beaches, which have a shocking level of natural diversity. There are wonders from the endless sands of the western coast to the spectacular cliffs that rise from Mazagón to the east. Thus, lovers of nautical activities find an ideal place in Huelva, perfect for sailing, surfing, kite-surfing, fishing, diving, or sailing put of one of its 14 marinas. - 05 -

Culture Give gifts of traditions, culture, and craft Culture and traditions are numerous and varied throughout the province of Huelva. Religious tourism around the Virgin of El Rocío brings together thousands of pilgrims every year and, every May and June, on the occasion of the greatest pilgrimage in the world, hundreds of thousands of believers congregate here. Holy Week offers a wide array of sculptures and processions for those who love these events. The seventh art hold a prominent position in Huelva’s Ibero-American Film Festival, held in November, which brings together the best in the industry from both sides of the Atlantic. Along with this, at Islantilla’s International Under the Moon Film Festival, a huge audience meets for screenings on the beach in July and August. In February, satirical and humorous carnivals fill the streets of many villages, like in Isla Cristina. Artisan craft is a sector rooted in the province since time immemorial, with several guilds that have lasted for centuries. Footwear is holy and a sign of Valverde del Camino, where quality is key. There, along with other towns in the province, handmade furniture is highly valued. Traditional cowbells, made in towns near El Rocío with iron and brass in an antique oven, or saddleries, linked to the age of horses, are activities that also keep the work of other generations alive.

- 07 -

Gastronomy Prepare your palate for a sea of flavours Considered the breadbasket of Europe, Huelva boasts of offering the most diverse products with unmatched quality, both from the sea and the land. It ranges from the best Iberian ham in the world under the Protected Designation of Origin “Jabugo,” along with other pork products, to the freshest fish and seafood on the coast, with the white prawn as its star, through a wide range of farm-fresh food like excellent berries or delicious citrus fruits. The game and lamb from Andévalo and a wide assortment of mushrooms are also hallmarks of the Huelva kitchen. The cherry on top is the traditional pastry, the star of the table. And, of course, all of this is washed down by the wisdom, experience, and hard work of the Condado de Huelva Denomination of Origin Wines, Vinegars, and Orange Wines and the most striking and peculiar spirits.

- 09 -

Golf Choose your course, take your clubs, and enjoy Huelva has been a pioneer in numerous sports in Spain. Football, cricket, squash, tennis... and golf. The arrival of English miners for the exploitation of the land’s minerals led to the creation of the first golf course on the Iberian Peninsula at the beginning of the 20th century. Currently, there are eight courses that the province of Huelva has that, due to its quality and excellent climate, lets you enjoy this sport throughout the year, making it one of the most thriving tourist sectors.

Corta Atalaya Golf MINAS DE RIOTINTO Located at the foot of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, on the grounds of the first golf course on the peninsula, the North Lode Golf Club was built at the end of the 19th century and founded by the English businessmen of the Riotinto mining company. In 1992, it was relocated near the Victorian neighbourhood of Bellavista, which has a view of the largest open-pit mine in Europe, the Corta Atalaya, from which it takes its name. It is a rustic 9-hole course (three par 3, five par 4, and a par 5) with dirt roads. It is quite flat, except for two holes, which have a steep slope.
