hen we launched the first issue of Homes Plus Magazine seven years ago, it was an exciting opportunity for us to fill a void in real estate advertising - a full sized magazine with big pictures, big print and a big presence. Seven years later, and we’ve seen some of the craziest real estate markets this Region has ever experienced. We’ve had to make some adjustments to keep the magazine relevant to you, our reader, as well as to our advertisers, and I think we’ve done a pretty good job. Some changes stuck, and some went by the wayside, but we’ve always been willing to try new things. This issue we miniaturized one of our old favourites - the “One on One” interviews from a few years ago. This time we approached over 100 of our advertisers, and gave each of them a single question to answer. As the answers rolled in, here in the office we were in turn rolling on the floor laughing, bug-eyed at the candid

Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished? Though there are many people who inspire me, I would have to say Stephen Hawking. He was always someone who I had great admiration for, but since his recent passing so many stories have been shared about what an extraordinary human being he was. In the face of great adversity and dealing with a disease that he knew would not make his life easy, he did not allow this to stop him from continuing to pursue his passions and figure out a way to communicate his thoughts with the world when his body stopped allowing him to do so himself.

Our favourite family tradition would be our yearly Christmas tree hunt. Our family goes out to Benjamin Tree Farm every year, rain or shine, and we cut down our annual Christmas tree. We search through the rows and rows of trees till we find one that all five of us agree on.
