“Home sales improved noticeably in April as buyers took advantage of a nice influx of new supply,” said Sheldon Barclay, President of the Cambridge Association of REALTORS®. “That said, the overall supply of listings is still very low by historical standards. Accordingly, the average sale price in the Region is currently on track for a gain of about 5% this year.” Average sale prices in April hit an all-time high in Kitchener-Waterloo. “These are the highest sale prices we’ve ever posted in a single month.
It’s only the third time the overall residential sale price has exceeded half a million, and for the first time, the average price of a detached home climbed over the 600-thousanddollar mark,” stated Brian Santos, President of the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of REALTORS®. He continued, “It’s still very much a seller’s market for anyone who is looking for a home under six hundred thousand. In these challenging market conditions, consumers should seek the expert advice of a local REALTOR®.
