Welcome from Mayor Smith I am pleased to welcome you to the 13th annual Snowman Mania. Council, staff, and volunteers have worked diligently to make this the best winter festival to date. We see this annual event as a wonderful way for our community to come together and celebrate the winter lifestyle we are so fortunate to have in Wasaga Beach. Snowman Mania offers so much great fun for everyone. There is the chili cook-off, the dance, and the polar bear plunge just to name a few of the awesome activities that make up the festival. I encourage you to explore this booklet to learn more about all that is taking place. Personally, I believe the best part of the festival is the time it allows us to spend with each other. As the mayor of Wasaga Beach, I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make Snowman Mania possible. We are blessed to have so many wonderful, caring people in our town. If you are visiting our community to attend the festival, I encourage you to explore the many fine shops and restaurants in Wasaga Beach. And I hope you’ll make some time for a return visit in the summer months so you can experience the beach, Nottawasaga Bay, our hiking trails, and so much more. Friday, February 16th Snowman Mania Kick-Off Party 5-9 PM We will officially kick off the 13th annual Snowman Mania with a party for all ages at the RecPlex (1724 Mosley Street, Wasaga Beach). The Kick-Off Party will include some fantastic Canadian music talents including Rebekah Stevens Band and Little Bones tribute band to Tragically Hip. Indoor and outdoor children’s activities which will include, inflatables, balloon twisters, face painting and more from 5-9 PM. Also, savor the memories of the night with our photo booth from 5--9 PM! Enjoy some pizza from Dominos while you cozy up beside one of the outdoor fire pits and watch the Fireworks show that promises to be a breathtaking winter spectacle. Swing by for the evening or come-and-go as you please. This event will surely have something for everyone!

Little Bones was formed in February, 1992 to serve as Ottawa’s own Tragically Hip Tribute. They take pride in supporting Charities for kids, some include, The Bear’s Children’s Fund, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, and The Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer. Rebekah is an emerging country singer-songwriter from Kitchener, Ontario. In her short career, she has already shared the stage with some of Canadian country’s best. As a 2013 Boots & Hearts Top 8 Emerging Artist Finalist, Rebekah has been deemed “One To Watch.”

On Sunday, February 18th the President’s Choice SuperDogs will thrill audiences with three indoor performances in the RecPlex Hall #1. For over 40 years the SuperDogs have captured headlines across the globe as a beloved attraction at international level events. Monday, February 19th Cross Country Skiing 9 AM - 5 PM (Blueberry Trails Nordic Centre)
The Blueberry Trails Nordic Centre will be offering cross country skiing and snowshoeing at a discounted rate. Trail permits will be available for $8 and rentals are $10. There will also be a scavenger hunt for the entire weekend (Sat-Mon to the Snowman Mania participants. Additional fees apply.

Monday, February 19th SK8 Georgian Bay, Battle of the SK8’S 11 AM - 12 PM (Oakview Rink)
Taking place at the Oakview Woods Outdoor Rink figure skaters and hockey players are invited to participate in the first 2018 Battle of the Sk8’s. Register for this event at www.sk8georgianbay.com before January 31st, entry fee is a non-perishable food item to be made by no later than February 19th, 2018 at event. Music must be sent to Sk8 Georgian Bay by January 31st. Each skater will have their name put in a draw for a chance to win a week at SK8 Georgian Bay Summer camp 2018. Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the categories of 7-12 years of age and 13- 16 years.

Monday, February 19th Slam-A-Rama Wrestling 1 PM - 3 PM (Hall 1A & B)
Ready to rumble with rock solid wrestling! The RecPlex will come to life when Rock Solid Wrestling will thrill audiences with the third annual live professional wrestling show. A can’t miss event for all ages, parental discretion is advised; some of Ontario’s top wrestlers will hit the mats at the RecPlex. Guaranteed to be a great time! Admission for the show is your Snowman Mania button ($2) available at select locations and limited at the door. Seating is limited for this event so get there early! The Wasaga Beach Youth Centre will be onsite with snacks – additional fees apply.
