Tonya Suits, a Keller Williams Cleveland Affiliate Broker, is known for her quote, “Finding the Home that Suits You.” Joining Keller Williams Cleveland in October of 2016, Tonya began experiencing success when it came to matchmaking families to their perfect homes. As Tonya comes close to celebrating her five-year anniversary as a real estate broker, the questions are often asked, “How are you so successful? and “How do you sell so many homes?” For Tonya, the answer is easy and she will repeat, “It’s only by God’s grace and mercy. All blessings that I have received have been through the help of God.” Then she will share Malachi 3:10-12 which begins, ‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty.’ God is true to His word and when I began to follow this Scripture, the very thing He promised started happening right before my eyes! God loves our obedience.”

Tonya Suits has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and has always enjoyed business. Throughout her lifetime, Tonya, as well as her husband Perry Suits, enjoyed finding homes that needed some TLC—and having the opportunity to buy, remodel, and sell them. They were your Chip & Joanna before Chip & Joanna were cool! Television makes these projects seem so easy, but blood, sweat, and tears always goes into home flips. If you ever have the opportunity to drive through Cleveland, Charleston, or Chattanooga with Tonya, every road she goes down seems to have a house she has had some kind of connection with—whether during her earlier years of flipping or her current career of helping others buy, sell, or invest! She is also the founder of Poppeas Children’s Boutique here in Cleveland, which she opened in 2007 in the Spring Creek area. When Tonya is not working, she loves spending time with the ones she loves and cherishes the most—her family. Tonya and Perry have two adult children, Aaron Suits and Britney Suits Knight, and three children still at home, Baylie and their two twin sons, Carter and Cayden.

“What sparked your decision to pursue real estate from the sales side?” is another popular question people often ask Tonya. Tonya was talking with her greatest mentor—her

grandmother—one morning and she suggested that Tonya should get her real estate license, since she was wanting to sell her house. Her grandmother believed Tonya would truly be successful at helping other people because that was always her heart from a young age. When Tonya called the real estate school, they had just started a class session two days prior. They told her that they would allow her to make up that time if she could be there the next day. By the next day, she had signed up for the real estate school and it felt like a whirlwind. After passing the Tennessee State Exam, she called her friend, Julie Merriman, who was the Market Center Administrator at Keller Williams Cleveland. Julie guided her every step of the way. Keller Williams Cleveland always ranks #1 in the River Counties Multiple Listing Service and Tonya wanted to make sure she surrounded herself with lots of training by true professionals. When she was told their motto was God, Family, and Business, she knew she had found the business model of success. She had a meeting with their Team Leader and signed up. In her first year at Keller Williams Cleveland, Tonya was awarded Rookie of the Year. By 2018, she was invited to join the Agent Leadership Council as part of the top 20% of the office.

In the last four years, Tonya has been blessed to have successfully served over 265 families, totaling over $66 million dollars in transaction volume—these have ranged from small lots of land, to luxury and commercial properties. With these great achievements, Tonya earned a spot in the Top 100 Agents for Keller Williams Southeast Region, which has over 14,000 individual agents. She was also blessed to have received the Keller Williams Luxury Division Accreditation in 2021 and was voted the 2021 Culture Icon at Keller Williams Cleveland. “This is one of the greatest awards to achieve,” said Suits. Tonya was voted on by her colleagues and she holds this very dear.

In the past year, the real estate market nationwide has experienced conditions that it has never seen before, with inventory so low that prices are driven higher than ever before. Just in Bradley County we have seen average sales price increase from $159,573 in 2015 to $226,760 in 2020. 2021 has brought incredible price increases in every market. It will be amazing to see the average price at the end of this year. With conditions like these, you need an experienced professional on your side. With the exponential growth that Tonya has seen in her business, it was necessary that she expand and hire an assistant. In 2018, she hired Josh Brewer, a licensed Realtor with the State of Tennessee, to be her Licensed Real Estate Assistant. Josh works with Tonya on a daily basis to assist with her client management, online, print marketing, and administrative tasks. With this assistance, Tonya has the ability to work with clients on a more personal basis and go the extra mile to help them feel secure in their large investment.
