March 21 - April 19 Back to work blues may be setting in this week, especially if you're not making as much headway as you would like in your career. Put your foot down and insist on being heard. Don't be drowned out by the mediocrity around you. April 20 - May 20 You're learning that life is what you make of it. It's an up and down week, but your attitude is key. Choose to stay positive and optimistic. Getting out of your normal surroundings will help to inspire and energize you.

December 22 - January 19 Serious vibes this week put you in a thoughtful and perhaps rather depressive mood. Look for silver linings, rainbows and glimpses of magic. They're all there, waiting to be discovered, but you must first raise your mood and start to seek them.

August 23 - September 22 If you're single, look out for a sudden and all-consuming attraction to someone this week. If you're in a relationship already, the planets turn up the heat in more ways than one; it's an intoxicating feeling, but losing control may be all too easy!

While clad in black, Oprah, like many women in the audience who were supporting the Time's Up Initiative by wearing black on the red carpet, said, "For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men. But their time is up." #timeisup She continued and got her second standing ovation, "Their time is up!" Oprah then said to the crowd, "I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the

horizon!" She later said, drawing her third standing ovation: "And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say 'Me Too' again!" #metoo Every woman in the world must have felt inspired.

Giving us a chance Help is a concept some of us might struggle with from time to time. We as individuals usually try to achieve our own goals. It’s a thing of pride. This pride can be an obstacle to achieve our objectives. We live in a diverse society. A society of acceptance and division as well. We live in a society where chances are not always granted. But isn’t life all about second chances? Isn’t our society the type that likes to help others? Are we not supposed to help those in need? We believe so, and so does she. COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 02 2018
Antoniëta Dap is no ordinary being. You can easily recognize her on the street. Her 'larger than life' personality leaves a trail of positivity all on its own. She invades our homes on a weekly basis with her television show 'Duné Un Chèns'. She believes in chances and gives them to those in need. Whenever she feels that someone is trying to reach a goal but there are hurdles in their way, she simply tries to intervene by being a helping hand. Currently, the show has been successfully airing for 13 years and with no signs of stopping any time soon.
Dreaming of helping others The initial idea was born years ago. Raised by her grandmother and her aunt, she was nurtured with love and hard work. She was constantly reminded 'that hard work pays off'. As a child, she had dreams. She knew at a very young age what roads she had to travel to reach those dreams. "I knew I wanted a husband when I grew up. A car a house and financial stability. Now that I’m a grown woman and I realize that I was able to achieve these dreams I started thinking, 'wouldn’t it be great to help others realize their goals as well?' So I started with my dream of helping others on the radio. It was on Fiesta FM 106.3 where I had my own talk show. People would call and tell me their story. In the beginning I was a listening ear and eventually I wanted to offer more.” Subsequently she moved to HIT100.3 and afterwards made the leap to TV. At CBA (at the time TV11) she was able to give

her stories a 'face' as well. After 5 successful years she eventually made the move to TeleCuraçao where she currently works.
Miracles happen The show had grown in popularity and also in demand. People want to see smiling faces. People need more
success stories where the victim(s) triumphs at the end. The first episode that really created shock waves, was about a mother who gave up her child for adoption. The child eventually grew up into a woman with baggage of her own. She was sexually abused by her foster parents. The kid at the time grew up with little

was a surprise for the daughter. She believed that her mother was still in the Netherlands, when suddenly she appeared and embraced each other for the first time.
A beacon of hope This episode cemented the purpose of the show. 'Duné Un Chèns' became a beacon of hope for those in need of support. The success of the show was so big that a foundation was born, Fundashon 'Duné Un Chèns'. The foundation focuses on helping those that don’t have the resources to better their lives on their own. It can be anything from providing wheelchairs for elderly people or desks for children. They help wherever is needed. Their work has not gone unnoticed, as they were awarded with the Edsel Everts Award and the Carabela Award.
information regarding her biological mother. Without knowing where to start, she confided in her church and asked for their help. The church quickly approached Antoniëta seeking a word of advice on how to tackle this challenge at hand. Apparently the mother was living in the Netherlands. Antoniëta did not waste a minute of her time and got right down to busi-

ness. She contacted her sister in the Netherlands and asked her to serve as her own personal 'detective'. After long days of research they had finally found her. She was on house arrest for committing different crimes. The plan was to reunite mother and daughter, but seeing the current situation would make it difficult to accomplish the before mentioned goal, it would take a miracle to make this dream a reality. 'Duné Un Chèns', contacted Dutch authorities to get permission to fly the mother to Curaçao for a reunion with her long lost child. The task at hand was not easy but neither impossible. At the end Antoniëta prevailed. The reunion
Antoniëta is aware that our community is one where poverty reigns. That is why she wants to contribute in any way she can. "If we don’t help ourselves, who will? We cannot constantly blame others for our hardships, we need to take responsibility into our own hands. It is the only way that we will succeed as a society. We need to unite and stop criticizing each other. There is no room for hate, only love." Wise words from a woman who dreamed big as a child and succeeded in life. One day at a time but with one goal in mind, giving others the opportunities that they never had.
