Florentine Ingredients
Directions
-
Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Add the ziti and cook for 7 to 8 minutes, or until al dente (firm to the bite). Scoop out and reserve 2 cups of the starchy pasta cooking water, and drain the pasta in a colander.

Meanwhile, cook the scallions and spinach: In a large skillet over medium, heat the olive oil. Add the scallions and cook, stirring often, for 2 minutes, or until the scallions soften. Add the spinach and cook, turning with tongs, for 1 to 2 minutes, or just until it wilts. Finish the pasta: Add the cooked ziti to the skillet, along with 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water. Add the Parmesan, lemon zest, ricotta, basil, and parsley. Stir vigorously until combined. Add more pasta cooking water if the pasta seems dry. Taste and add more salt and pepper, if you like. Serve the pasta: Spoon the ziti into shallow bowls and sprinkle with more Parmesan.

Shary-An Nivillac 8
Go Weekly
go_weekly
A twenty-five-year-old woman who cannot imagine her life without singing, deeply feels and simply knows that being in the music industry is without a doubt what she wants. Her name is SharyAn Nivillac, a young woman with Curaçaoan roots living in the Netherlands. By: Jade Mambre
GOWEEKLY 09 2018 COVER STORY
Her relationship with music started to flourish many years ago when her grandfather used to play Christmas songs on his guitar, which to SharyAn felt like magic. Her grandfather was such an inspiration to her. At a very young age, Shary-An did not recognize the uniqueness of her own voice, but around the age of 11 she started to become aware of how different her voice was compared to her classmates. This was a turning point in her life, and it was a change in the way she thought about her voice. Shary-An continued to sing and sharing her pop music, because singing gives her freedom.
Shary-An’s music Singing is not only about letting a strong beautiful voice be heard. For Shary-An, singing is a way to express herself and to heal. To her it is a language people understand and feel. “I just love the way it makes me feel. I can honestly say that music and singing can take my breath away”. Both her happy and sad songs are about everything that concerns life. She wants people who hear her songs to feel comfortable and wants to give them the space to feel what they want. Shary-An’s songs are created by her and her team that consists of more than 4 writers. After having several conversations, they come up with song lyrics. Shary-An is an influencer for brands like Coca Cola, and she makes online content, mostly videos, that brands use for promotion. Besides this she shares her music on many music platforms.
“I decided to focus on singing and that is the reason I auditioned”
The Voice of Holland
Having been a contestant taking part in the TV show The Voice of Holland was Shary-An Nivillac’s first experience within the music industry, which was about 8 years ago. “At a certain point in my life I decided that I had to make a decision.” She was not able to choose between focusing on her music and focusing on her psychology study, but in the end “I decided to focus on singing and that is the reason I auditioned”. It is where she learned a lot from her coach Angela
Groothuizen and the entire experience itself. Making it to the semi-finals gave her “a super big boost as an artist.” Going to Pop Academy in Rotterdam was another step towards developing her career as a singer. It is where she studied Performing Artist. “It was very hard to learn how to read music notes on paper and play songs, but I succeeded”. Even though reading music notes was hard, she assured her lecturers that it is what she wants. Shary-An managed to get all her ECTs with the help of her lecturers and got her degree without having to leave the one thing she loves doing most behind, singing.

GOWEEKLY 09 2018 COVER STORY
First and latest album 8 years ago Shary-An released her first single “Six feet under”, one of the songs of the first album she recorded called Love Me for Who I Am with Sven Figee and Roland Dirkse, which was released in 2011. This was an experience that had a great influence on her music career. “The entire experience, from writing the songs to the first time recording in the studio and working with my management, label and producers Sven Figee and Roland Dirkse was extremely instructive”. Moreover, the production of SharyAn’s latest self released album Project Me with Bart Janssen and Sjoerd de Vries and going on tour with her band in 2017 was mind-blowing!” Besides

yourself and be patient”. Shary-An hopes that her next step in life will be “a massive hit”, and she wants to continue living her life to the fullest, remaining positive and keeping a smile on her face, while working with her agency WANTED bookings. “My motto is: just do it!” Shary-An goes for what she wants. She believes she’s unique, which is what she keeps in mind to continue growing and staying focused. Being on stage as a singer gives Shary-An Nivillac a feeling she cannot describe. It is a feeling that gives her life, and a feeling she gets when she is singing. That feeling is freedom. Sharyan.Nivillac
