"Don't ignore the small details which make life tick"

April 20 - May 20 Keep your cards close to your chest and don't discuss your private life with others. Likewise, keep the confidence of anyone who confides in you. Information is power during these energies - so don't give yours away.

Bow Wow Born: March 9, 1987

FUN FACTS - - -

He started rapping at age five He won a Billboard Award for Single of the Year with his song "Bow Wow (That's My Name)" On March 15, 2017, Bow Wow, responding to President Donald Trump's criticism of Snoop Dogg's music video for "Lavender (Nightfall Remix)", sent a tweet to Trump in which he threatened to "pimp your wife and make her work for us". In less than 24 hours, Bow Wow deleted the offending tweet.

PISCES

February 19 - March 20 It's a fantastic week for manifestation and conscious creation. Whatever you can imagine, you can start to bring into being now. Be aware of the values you are showing in everyday life, and start to live the life you want to lead.

2

May 21 - June 20 Lively conversations with friends, family and colleagues can quickly turn into full scale war if you don't adopt a more flexible approach. Have your say, yes, but avoid being dogmatic and aggressive over your viewpoint. June 21 - July 22 You have an unusual amount of influence over others and you may find yourself being the spokesperson for a group. Check your motives carefully before you make a move. Are you acting for the greater good, or just for your own good?

LEO

July 23 - August 22 You're very concerned with big picture issues. Who's going to save the world? That's not clear, but what is certain is that someone still has to take the trash out and pick up the kids. Don't ignore the small details which make life tick.

VIRGO

August 23 - September 22 Use your intuition. Logic will only get you so far during these energies - there is a lot which is currently hidden from view. You have a strong inner sense of who you can trust, and you are rarely wrong. Heed your feelings and act accordingly.

September 23 - October 22 Ever the zodiac's natural diplomat, your instinct is to calm, to soothe and to negotiate a way forwards. Use this skill in your own personal relationships and show your lover that you really do mean to find a solution. Keep talking. You'll get there. October 23 - November 21 You may need to make adjustments in your career in order to maintain your physical and emotional wellbeing. The stress of work can be truly harmful to you, but you have the chance now to find a new equilibrium. November 22 - December 21 There's a playful and creative vibe around you and it's the perfect time for getting new ideas off the ground. Don't be afraid to experiment at work, or to be more spontaneous at home and in your love life. Forget the rules - go with your heart.

LEO -

CAPRICORN

December 22 - January 19 It's a very busy week at home, perhaps with unexpected guests or appliances breaking down and requiring repair. Despite all the comings and goings, however, you're finding a new sense of peace and calm amid the chaos. Home is your castle now.

AQUARIUS

January 20 - February 18 Focus on difficult paperwork this week, or tie up lose ends in work or study matters. The energy around you is busy but proactive and positive, so keep going. You'll have accomplished a lot by the end of the week, which should be satisfying.

Source: theastrologer.com

March 21 - April 19 Find your softer side. Sure, you could easily get what you want via force now, but why would you? Show the world your compassion, your bravery and your tolerance. Don't take what you can get simply because it's easy.

Chicken

Ingredients -

Peel, slice and smash the ginger; Slice the green parts of the green onion to yield 2 to 3 tablespoons; Cut the leftover into pinkie-finger lengths, bruise, then add to the ginger; Coarsely chop the leafy tops of the cilantro to yield 2 tablespoons; set aside for garnish. Set the remaining cilantro sprigs aside. Toast the coriander seeds and clove over medium heat, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the ginger and green onion sections. Stir for about 30 seconds. Slide the pot off heat then pour in the broth. Return the pot to the burner, add water, cilantro sprigs, chicken, and salt. Bring to boil again. Let the chicken simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a bowl, then drain. Let cool, then cut into bite-size pieces.

6

ž inch ginger 2 medium-large green onions 1 small bunch cilantro sprigs 1 1/2 teaspoons coriander seeds 1 whole clove 3 1/2 to 4 cups (840ml to 1l) low-sodium chicken broth 2 cups (480 ml) water 180 to 225 g boneless, skinless chicken breast about 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt 150 g dried flat rice noodles 2 to 3 teaspoons fish sauce about 1/2 teaspoon sugar, or 1 teaspoon maple syrup pepper (optional) Optional extras: Bean sprouts, mint sprigs, Thai basil, cilantro leaves, lime wedges, thinly-sliced chili pepper

Continue to simmer the broth without the chicken for 15 to 20 minutes Soak the rice noodles in hot water. Drain, rinse, and set aside. When the broth is done, pour it through a fine-mesh strainer positioned over a 2-liter pot; line the strainer with muslin for super clear broth. Discard the solids. Season with fish sauce and sugar, if needed, to create a strong savory-sweet note. Bring the strained broth to a boil over high heat. Put the noodles in a noodle strainer or mesh sieve and dunk in the hot broth to heat and soften, 5 to 60 seconds. Lift the noodles from the pot and divide between the 2 bowls. Lower the heat to keep the broth hot while you arrange the chicken on top of the noodles and garnish with the chopped green onion, cilantro, and a sprinkling of pepper. Enjoy with any extras, if you like.

Just like any other sport, football has its rules, but football makes Dean Lourensz feel free. Free in a way he is able to be himself. There was never a time when he did not play with a football, which is why his parents did not think twice about letting him join a team. By Jade Mambre

GOWEEKLY 10 2018 COVER STORY

As a 4-year-old, his relationship with football started as a new challenge, same goes for other sports he played in the past like baseball and karate. Baseball and Karate were sports he enjoyed playing, but as he was growing up it became apparent that he has a talent for football. Subsequently, he chose one sport to continue playing, which is his passion and the sport he truly loves, football. It takes him somewhere else where there is no space for worries. Dean Lourensz, a self-confident, courageous, humble and frank 19-year-old born in Curaçao is now living in the Netherlands playing football and studying to become a history teacher. His inspiration in life is to become a professional football player, and his motivation is to be able to inspire others with his story.

talent to demonstrate God’s greatness, and I am convinced that my talent is God’s gift”. Difficult situations encourage him to grow. He can be very strict with himself and likes challenges. Dean Lourensz constantly seeks to surpass himself to become better every day. He is a fighter. In 2017, he injured his anterior cruciate

Dean’s perspective Being in contact with his family is important to Dean. He is surrounded by people who believe in him and people who recognize and help him develop his talent, which he finds are key elements of his journey. To him, working towards his goals means to always do his utmost best and leave the rest in God’s hands. “I use my

ligament, and as a result he had to undergo surgery. “The rehabilitation lasts 6 to 9 months, and I can tell you it is not an easy period, since football is a very big part of my life”. Dean’s perspective on this experience is that it is a period of growth and development both physically and mentally.

Achievements are motivations From 2015 to 2017, Dean had the opportunity to play in Centro Barber when he was only sixteen years old. “This team made me mature, and it contributed to my personal development making me a stronger and a more confident person”. His experiences and all his achievements such as being Man of the Match once and being chosen for the Rookie of the Year award of Liga MCB during the period of 2015 and 2016 are his motivations to work hard with passion towards achieving his goals. Being able to feel the connection between himself as a player and all the fans, who were yelling his name to put him in a game his team was playing against Bermuda, was a beautiful point in time to remember. Another amazing and unforgettable experience was when he was accepted in his first professional football club, Go Ahead Eagles. Dean grasped the opportunity to participate in a trial for Go Ahead Eagles with two hands and gave it his all. In the end he was selected to become a part of the team Jong Go Ahead Eagles for the period of 2017-2018. “This feels like a big achievement in my career and makes me think how hard work pays off”. Currently Dean is focusing on his recovery, to be able to return as fast as possible and stronger than ever.

“I use my talent to demonstrate God’s greatness”

Dean Lourensz is grateful for having his parents, his 2 pillars, standing beside him throughout his journey. “I would not have been able to get where I am alone”. They were by his side to support him, guide him and educate him to be the person he is today. “I want to encourage all parents to stand behind their chil-

dren and support them in everything positive”. Dean will continue with his academic program next to his football career, while working hard, both on and off field, to achieve his goals and inspire others in life. “Nothing falls from the sky, you have to make your goals your priority, so you have to sacrifice a lot,

believe in yourself and work hard. Be aware that there will be ups and downs.” Dean’s attitude towards ups and downs is using every fall as a motivation to achieve success and accomplish goals, while each accomplishment serves as satisfaction and a reminder of how you did not give up. Serendipity by Noeki Edible flower bouquets are what Serendipity by Noeki is all about. It is a flower arrangement that anyone could wish for! By Jade Mambre

At a very young age Janoutzy Martis used to visit her grandmother after school. Her grandmother was a woman who always made traditional sweets of Curaçao such as tentalaria, kokada, djent’i kachó, and she used to bake cakes. Janoutzy grew up in this kind of business and was completely inspired by her grandmother. In addition to her grandmother, Janoutzy’s mother also used to take baking classes before she was pregnant with her. After losing her job, she did baking as a side job. That is how Janoutzy started to help her mother

16

in the kitchen with filling plum pies called tèrt and more. Her mother immediately recognized Janoutzy’s talent for decorating cakes. When Janoutzy went to the Netherlands to study small business and retail management, she also baked cakes for people while attending university. Janoutzy kept exploring baking, which kept developing into what is now making beautiful flower bouquets with cupcakes as a hobby. The flower bouquets are baked according to Janoutzy’s mother’s delicious recipe. “I am someone who loves flowers.

I always have flowers on my table”. Flowers bring Janoutzy joy, which is why she combined her love for baking and flowers together to bring joy to others. The reaction of people when they look at the flowers gives Janoutzy the best feeling ever. “It is very satisfying to see someone that happy. It is incredible. Not even money can buy it.” Making beautiful edible flower bouquets is a hobby that she truly loves and enjoys doing. Find beauty, joy and a delicious sweet taste all in one flower bouquet by Serendipity by Noeki.

Project Transformers One of the best ways to help our community is to believe in our young ones and standing beside them, while guiding them towards becoming exemplary human beings. Project Transformation, set in motion by Eldrion Regina, stands for positive change of individuals between the ages of 13 and 17. 16 youngsters that are attending school and who are influencers and have leadership qualities were selected to be coached in the course of 10 weeks starting from January 13, 2018 to March 18, 2018. They will be coached by 5 coaches, namely, Raichel Sint Jacoba, Jason Scholtz, Jurgen La Cruz, Aldair Koeiman and Gustavo de Jongh. The project Transformers will also be filmed and used in a documentary movie in Inspirational Week 2 in August 2018. By Jade Mambre The purpose of the project The main purpose of the project is to coach 20 youngsters who are at risk of becoming troubled. This project aims to transform these teenagers into exemplary human beings who will use their leadership qualities in a positive way and as a result influencing other teens. Not only will the 20 youngsters be coached, but they also have to organize a social project for their school and/or neighborhood including as many pupils and/or local residents as possible. By giving them a small budget, they will learn how they are able to organize a great event in a creative way.

Achieving the goal With the help of school boards, 20 teens were selected to achieve the

goal of the project. They were selected according to specific criteria, such as their age, they must be attending school and at risk of being troubled and more. After an admission interview, 16 teens from different schools were selected to take a 10-week course. During these 10 weeks, the coaches have been meeting the youngsters at least twice a week. Once on every Saturday, they meet for a workshop or training to discuss subjects like teambuilding, planning, dealing with others, developing their talents, respect, social involvement, organizing and selling a project, getting information about foundations and more. The evaluation is done individually or in small groups of 2 with the guidance of a personal coach. On March 18, 2018, the trajectory

Coach Raichel, Emanuel, Arthuro, Eldrion Regina

will end with a final show where the youngsters present their development, their project and experience to an audience using a video of maximum 5 minutes. Those assessing the youngsters are experts in experience who, among other things, have projects from different funds (e.g. criminal fund and Reda social). From the 8 groups that are currently competing against one another, the winner is chosen based on a questionnaire, while paying attention to the growth and development of the youngsters and the influence of their project on their environment. With project Tranformers, a hand is given to our community and the next generation. Let’s guide them towards being positive, respectful, responsible and strong leaders, because our future is in their hands.
