“don’t be surprised if an old friend suddenly looks very sexy!”

March, 12 - April, 20 A renewed sense of physical vigor could have you plunging into whatever projects you need to do. However, your mind won’t really be on them, as you could be feeling especially passionate now. Your own intellectual and philosophical interests might be uppermost in your mind, right up there with sex and romance!

Famous Pisces

PISCES

February, 19 - March, 20 Your mind isn’t likely to be on the job. That could cause a number of problems. You might be feeling especially romantic. You’re thinking about the evening when you can be alone with your romantic partner or at least luxuriate in racy novels or sexy movies. At lunch, buy some clothes you feel are especially flattering and then enjoy your evening! Focused You can make the best of a rotten situation by looking for deeper meaning and staying focused on your goals. In fact, if this could always be the case there would be no rotten situations! It’s possible to look deeper and see the forest for the trees while the aspect of the day exerts its energy, making what we want and what we are able to achieve more aligned. Test your strength when you exercise and acknowledge the part of you that wants things to work out.

2

April, 21 - May, 20 You’re in a romantic mood. You’re more likely to notice attractive strangers you pass on the street, and attract admiring glances from them! Racy novels and movies could seem more appealing than usual, and you might do some window-shopping for sensual products.

September, 23 - October, 22 A phone call from your sweetheart might bring out your passionate, romantic side. You’ll probably have a lot to do, and therefore not be able to meet with him or her. All signs indicate that the encounter will be worth the wait. You should be especially attuned to your partner right now.

AQUARIUS

SCORPIO

May, 21 - June, 20 An evening at home with your sweetheart could seem very appealing. Sex and romance are very much on your mind, and you might surprise yourself with how earthy you feel. You could decide to pick up a romantic novel or see a sexy movie. You could learn to communicate better with your partner both verbally and physically.

October, 23 - November, 23 As someone who tends to operate through your intellect you might be surprised by the surge of romantic passion that comes your way at this time. Your values might shift from the intellectual to the physical. You’ll probably want to plan a romantic evening with someone special. You might even want to get out and spend some money on clothes.

June, 21 - July, 22 Communication with a significant other might hit a brick wall, and you may not be able to get through. Money could be coming in the mail but probably won’t arrive. Love and romance look great right now. July, 23 - August, 22 You are passionate by nature but the strength of your desires might surprise you. You’re feeling especially romantic and even sexier than usual. You’ll want to spend time alone with your lover. Don’t be surprised if you attract admiring glances from others, even strangers. August, 23 - September, 22 Communications with family members and others should be clear, honest, and loving. Although your physical passions may be surging beneath the surface, they’re still very much present. You’re likely to be feeling particularly romantic, and might want to read racy novels or go to a sexy movie.

November, 23 - December, 21 You’re likely to think more in terms of physical passion than idealized romance. You’re likely to be especially concerned with your appearance, and might want to go for a professional makeover or buy some new clothes. December, 22- January, 19 Even if you aren’t romantically involved you’re likely to feel especially passionate and anxious to schedule an intimate evening with someone who’s caught your eye. You may not gallop off into the sunset right away, but you could dream of faraway lands. You might want to plan a trip. January, 20 - Febuary, 18 While you are Earthy by nature and enjoy physical passion, this might seem even more pronounced. Racy novels and movies could be especially appealing. You may want to plan a romantic evening with a lover. If you don’t have one, don’t be surprised if an old friend suddenly looks very sexy!

Phil Collins plays benefit unplugged Phil Collins’ resurgence as a performer continues to scale up at a snail’s pace. What was expected to be his first full concert since retiring in 2011 turned into a seven song performance to benefit the Little Dreams Foundation started by him and his former wife.

Janet Jackson’s

Billed as “Phil Collins Unplugged”, the show was held last Friday night at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in the Fillmore Miami Beach and, with tickets running up to almost $400, the thought that Collins would take the stage for an extended set. What fans got was a seven song set.

‘European tour flop’ Madonna ‘suffers boozy The singer announced last week March 8 that she would be postponing all her U.K. dates of her Unbreakable World Tour, along with some concerts in mainland Europe. However, the news that ticket holders were being given refunds led to the assumption the shows have been cancelled rather than just rescheduled.

“She was about to flop, badly”

Following Janet’s announcement, many fans were left worrying about her health, as the singer underwent throat surgery in January. But a new report claims poor ticket sales were to blame for the date cancellations. “She was about to flop, badly,” a source told the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column. “When an artist cancels an entire leg or postpones pieces of the tour, the real reason is because they’re not selling. It’s better to cancel than play a room that’s half-filled, especially if you’re Janet Jackson.”

Madonna reportedly suffered an alcoholfuelled meltdown on stage during her show in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday night March 12. The Material Girl singer is currently battling ex-husband Guy Ritchie for custody of their son Rocco Ritchie, and shocked the audience at her concert in the Rod Laver Arena when she drank tequila onstage as well as downing a drink from a fan’s hip flask as the legal fight took its toll. Madonna confessed to messing up her songs, and made reference to the bitter battle she is embroiled in after her 15-yearold son Rocco decided to live in London with his director father

Janet Jackson postponed several European tour dates because poor ticket sales meant she was “about to badly flop”, according to reports.

Eagles and Chickens… By: Ruvette Dirksz

I’m sure you thought about this; why is everyone around me being blessed and I’m only getting stressed.

“You can’t soar with eagles if you hang around with chickens” It’s important to know that you are never excluded, for we are created by a higher power whose only intention is to include you into feeling His everlasting love. Are you connected with your spiritual self? Maybe you should. Having said that; it’s only YOU that can exclude yourself from receiving exactly what you are entitled to. To be excluded is to prevent from being included, considered or accepted. If you rule yourself out from being considered for a blessing or to receive in abundant- than you are standing in your own way. Stop the self sabotage! Are you complaining all the time? Hanging around with the wrong crowd? If so, there are a few elements in your life you need to get rid of… you can’t be positive hanging around negative people. If you want to move forward, take a look around you what/who is weighing you down. Get rid of it! You still love the person, but their purpose in your life is fulfilled. Narrow their space; limit their connection and you’ll be ‘moving’ soon…

GOWEEKLY 11 2016 COVER STORY

Christopher Soliana Your guide to a healthy and delicious lifestyle. Being healthy is not a trend anymore, it is a lifestyle. People are realizing more and more that watching what you eat and drink can add years to your life. Someone who is an advocate of this lifestyle is Chef Christopher Soliana. A young man with ambition and passion for good food and healthy living; chef Soliana turned his dream into reality and is now the chef at the Amazia restaurant. Here’s his story. By: Hayson Nicholls Photography: Barry Adunmo & Luigino Da Silva De Jesus

8

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 11 2016

“‘I don’t like sweets, but my ultimate guilty pleasure is Burger King.”

Introduce us to Chef Christopher Soliana. ‘I am a chef currently working at The Amazia restaurant. I worked in the hotel and catering industry for many years in The Netherlands. I have done almost everything in that sector and worked my way up as a chef. One day i realized that I was tired of living there so I moved back to Curaçao where I worked at a catering company for a year. Now I am the chef at Amazia. We started with a concept of healthy food and it was a great success. We offer Paleo style food.’

How did you get interested in cooking? ‘I studied law in The Netherlands, but i did not dedicate much time to it. I took a year off to rethink what I was going to do with my life. I got into the restaurant business by working at a Mexican restaurant as a cook and I realized that I was pretty good at it. Bit by bit I advanced in the company and gained a lot of experience.’ You have mentioned that you cook according to the Paleo concept, explain to us what that is.‘ Paleo is simply put meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. It’s fresh food like our ancestors used to eat, all non-processed. Sugars, wheat and “neolithic” foods are all avoided. It is also called the caveman diet.’

What is your goal in regards to this lifestyle? ‘My ultimate goal is to educate people about eating good foods and being healthy. Many chefs may disagree with me that a Paleo diet is delicious, because you have to leave out a lot of ingredients that you are accustomed to using. I used to

live very unhealthy when I was in the Netherlands. Since I’ve started eating the Paleo way and exercising more (Cross Fit) I feel rejuvenated. It does great things to your body. Cross Fit challenges your body, but it also gives you more stamina and power. That is what I want to convey to the public.’

What is your favorite food to make and/or eat? ‘Besides Paleo inspired foods, I love eating burgers; I try a burger everywhere I go. I don’t have a favorite dish to prepare. I love to cook “freestyle” and experiment with spices and herbs. I also love spicy food.’

Do you have a guilty pleasure? ‘I don’t like sweets, but my ultimate guilty pleasure is Burger King. That is what I eat on a cheat day.’

What inspired you to make certain dishes? ‘I am very active on the Internet and social media. I check out everything that’s new and innovative. I also look for alternatives foods that are not on the Paleo menu. Experimenting is also a great thing to do. Nothing is impossible. You just have to combine and taste.’

Any future plans we need to know about? ‘My ultimate goal is to provide people with good and healthy food for a reasonable price. We have a lot of individuals who practice sports, especially Cross Fit, that eat at the restaurant because it is a good combination. I also have plans to expand into the catering business. I am going to make people aware that healthy eating can be good and delicious.’

Levi Silvanie introduces ‘Sigui Stima’ (feat. Willem Blankenburgh)

The first sounds of Sigui Stima may not immediately remind you of Levi Silvanie. The brand new track of Curacao’s most beloved singer, which was created together with guitar virtuoso Willem Blankenburgh, has a refreshing opening.

BANANA Smoothie Healthy, convenient and portable, smoothies are ideal fuel-on-the-go for breakfast, an afternoon snack or dessert. Smoothies provide important protein, vitamins and minerals from ingredients like tofu, yogurt and fruit. For an easy breakfast or snack, try making this quick and healthy smoothie recipe. Ingredients

For this latest track Levi has joined forces with producer Oscar Bor to explore the world of electronic music. Despite this new style the sound is still 100 percent Levi and a fitting new chapter in the singer’s versatile career. It all started about 10 years ago during a jam session. Here Levi and Willem met for the first time.

• 1 banana • 1/2 cup silken tofu • 1/2 cup soymilk • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder • 1 tablespoon honey

They immediately felt the need to collaborate one day. In this same period Levi wrote the better part of the song ‘Sigui Stima’. However, the song missed something, Levi thought. Therefore, the song was never produced and slowly faded to the background.

Preparation

But this all changed recently. The finishing touch turned out to be an existing text. It’s a passage from a children’s book soon to be published by Levi. This passage became the hook that completed the track.

Slice banana and freeze until firm. Blend tofu, soymilk, cocoa and honey in a blender until smooth. With the motor running, add the banana slices through the hole in the lid and continue to puree until smooth.

Photo: veganyackattack.com

Sigui Stima describes the need to have love in your life. Love in its essence is the need to give, not to take. Even though you may follow your dreams of wealth and success, without love, your life cannot be complete. In short: whatever you do, Sigui Stima.

Hotspot of the week

Renaissance Life Known by many and always visited by many. But what is it about Renaissance that people love so much? I went to discover for myself and can say that Renaissance has been added to the hotspot list! By: Shari Jourdain

If there is anything that I love, it is good quality anything. Whether it is clothing, a pair of nice shoes, food and definitely service. When I walk through the Renaissance area I feel like all of these things are present. And just because it’s great quality, doesn’t mean you have to pay the highest price, oh no. In my opinion most things that Renaissance offers are pretty affordable.

Infinity pool Now I’m a beach girl… if I could I would visit every beach on the island at once. But how about an infinity pool with extraordinary views over the ocean? How could you say no to that!? If you’ve never heard of it, you know it now. Renaissance’s infinity pool is one of my favorites and worth spending a day at!
