I kissed a boy and I like it Arie and Lauren having fun at the race tracks
The Bachelor bomb
Last Sunday Katty Perry surprised American Idol contestant Benjamin Glaz with his first kiss. During his audition he sang his heart out but unfortunately Glaz didn’t make it to Hollywood. Without any doubt this was a memorable day for this 19-year-old singer.
Arie Luyendyk is once again engaged, but to former contestant Lauren Burnham, who he initially has send home. But apparently, he had a change of heart after his engagement to Becca. He realized he had made the wrong decision, what lead up to a brutal breakup scene. During The Bachelor’s After the Final Rose special, he proposed to his love Lauren Burnham. For Lauren, this is also a second engagement, after ending her relationship with her then fiancé months before deciding to go on The Bachelor. Arie and Lauren are doing well, despite all the controversy surrounding their relationship. Last weekend the racer and his fiancée headed to Florida for a cute date at the race tracks.

Last Sunday during iHeartRadio Music Awards was the world premiere of Taylor Swift’s newest single ‘Delicate’. This love song is one of the most intimate tracks on her album ‘Reputation’. Fans have speculated it was written about the beginning of her new romance with British actor Joe.

JiniĂŤlle Sprockel I tried it and it stuck.
JiniĂŤlle (Jini) Sprockel, a young woman who is 23 years of age, soon to be 24, is a calm and an easygoing person who does not like to be the center of attention. Nevertheless, behind her personality, there is an entirely different person who loves drifting. The adrenalin completely takes her someplace else. By: Jade Mambre | Photography: Ryan Aniceta

GOWEEKLY 11 2018 COVER STORY
Currently she is studying engineering and practicing her passion, drifting, which she started in 2013. “I grew up around my brother and my dad and in the world of high performance cars, so spontaneously I also started to love cars. I used to go to Koraal Tabak to see the drifters, but there weren’t any competitions back then”. Not long after “I tried it and it stuck.” The drifting world that is seen as a world dominated by men, did not affect Jiniëlle’s choice of joining the competitions. In fact she has been treated as a competitor. She has the equipment; she has the skills, so she is a drifter.
Fury the car It is remarkable how Jiniëlle’s father is very protective of her and yet her journey brought her attention to drifting. Having a protective father and drifting means “I have to have a

helmet, a 5-point seat belt, I need to have cage in my car and then I might be allowed to test it out”. Jiniëlle’s brother and father are more focused on drag racing, but drifting attracted her due to the young crowd and how the drifters have to control the car. Her first time drifting with her Ford Mustang GT, which she bought from her brother, was not scary to her, as
it was a normal road vehicle. After feeling what drifting is all about, Jiniëlle converted this car with a drag setup into a drift car. So she “made it go sideways”, meaning going drifting with a drag car. Afterwards, Jiniëlle wanted to continue transforming her Ford Mustang GT into a more competitive car, which costs a lot of money. In the end she decided to sell her car and buy Fury, the one she has now.
Fury is a Nissan S14 Silvia with a Turbo LS-engine, which with the help of her team was turned into a competitive car.
Competitions Gaining control of her car was something Jiniëlle learned while gaining experience. She received many tips, but in the end it is a skill she has deep down. The first time she ever drifted with her Ford Mustang GT was not frightening, however, driving a drift car felt a little scary, as it was all about getting used to a car with more power. There is something about driving a car with such velocity that makes her zone out for the

her grandfather passed away, she realized that time is so valuable. Jiniëlle’s ambition is to compete in international drifting competitions in the future and all upcoming serious competitions here in Curaçao. If all is well, Jiniëlle will also participate in the upcoming Gymkhana, the war auto shows, competitions in 2018. In the future she hopes to finish her degree and to someday have her own construction company. She hopes that drifting keeps growing in Curaçao, so the drifters can also compete internationally. When you see Jiniëlle, do not get too comfortable, because she will surprise you at the tracks!

those cute, but oh so overwhelming, curls! Little girls with curly hair are the cutest! But sometimes it can be a challenge handling those curls. This week we share some easy hacks for handling those cute but difficult curls. The kids will love the process! Warm and cool water Before cleansing, rinse hair with warm water to open hair cuticles allowing moisture to penetrate. When rinsing out the conditioner, use cool water to lock in moisture.
Moisturizing conditioner A good moisturizing conditioner is all you need. This cleanse and protects the natural oil of the hair. The natural oil protects the hair from breaking. The more you pile on, the merrier. Don’t forget to massage the roots and coat the ends.
Detangle Detangle hair under the streaming water: during the conditioning process it’s easier to detangle your hair.
The pressure of the water can also help with loosening the tangles making it easier to comb through.
Avoid brushes If you skipped number 2, then opt for a wide tooth comb or simply use your fingers to detangle hair.
Oil treatment Use oil to seal in moisture, this will reduce frizz and prevent breakage.
Final touch Use a blow dryer with diffuser attachment to dry the hair if it’s still soaking wet. This will get rid of the excess water and prevent ruining the look of your curls. It will also add volume if desired.
Sofn’Free has a wonderful collection of hair treatment for kids. The gentle ingredients like sunflower and olive oil will leave your child’s hair softer, shinier and much more manageable.

The UNICEF Child Rights Film Festival in Curaçao Children in Curaçao create, make and star in their own film on Children’s Rights. Since January 2018, Kolegio Erasmo, Mgr. Nieuwindt College, Kolegio Chema Maduro/Angela Jesurun, and Fatima College, participated in the activities of the UNICEF Child Rights Film Festival, a unique and interactive program focused on child rights education.
Ready, Action, Go! With this film festival, UNICEF wants to teach children on children’s rights in a creative and interactive manner. This is not only in Curaçao active, but schools from Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba and Aruba and Sint Maarten, have also participated. This program connects all the six Caribbean islands in the Dutch Kingdom. Thamara (11 years) “I like this Film Festival because you get to be creative. I learned that all children have rights. My favorite right is the right to have your own opinion. I think that is very important.” All children from 0 to 18 years have their own rights. This is described in the Convention on the Rights of the
14
Child. However, many children and adults in Curacao don’t know what children’s rights are. The director of Kolegio Erasmo said: “In order for children to grow up healthy, safe, and therewith reach their full potential, they need to know what their rights are.
A competition The program is not only educational and focused on awareness and empowerment, it also contains an element of competition between the Caribbean islands. It starts with a festive premier on each island, where the winning film is elected. In Curaçao, this festive event takes place in March in the Movies, where a team of jury will select the winning film. This film will than represent Curaçao during the finals on April 14th. The Child Rights Film Festival in Curacao is made possible by the 'Nederlandse Vertegenwoordiging' in Curaçao and the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam.
About the film festival In everything we do, UNICEF Netherlands promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child. With the UNICEF Child Rights Film Festival, children learn about their rights in a playful manner by making their own professional film about a right they think is important. All the six islands in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom participate. Every island elects its winning movie, which represents them during a festive finale on Saturday, April 14th. www.krff.nl/unicef-child-rights-filmfestival-nl/m
