TAURUS

LIBRA

April 20 - May 20 Venus' arrival in Taurus coincides with an upsurge of self-confidence and a desire to expand your social circle. The Full Moon eases relationships with work colleagues too, so overall the vibe is friendly, easy-going and enjoyable.

"Never be afraid to walk away" LIBRA -

Popular Pisces

Young M.A. Born: April 3, 1992

FUN FACTS - Her real name is Katorah Kasanova Marreo - She was never a girly girl and always played football - She has 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube

PISCES

February 19 - March 20 You'd do almost anything to wriggle out of a particular responsibility. However, knuckling down to what you are supposed to be doing will prove to be more important than you realize. Do the right thing or face Full Moon consequences.

2

GEMINI

May 21 - June 20 It's all about balancing risks. On the one hand, you want to rock the boat and a group you belong to could certainly do with a shake-up. On the other hand, the Full Moon in your risk zone urges caution. Can you find a middle way?

CANCER

June 21 - July 22 A Full Moon in your family zone highlights where your work-life balance may reach a point of crisis. Avoid making sudden and irreversible decisions at work, however. There is always an answer. Stay calm, and buy yourself some time to find it.

LEO

July 23 - August 22 Venus moves into your career zone, so your charm and social skills should help you progress at work. Be very careful to be honest in all that you say and do, however, as any lies or insincerity are likely to be shown up by the Full Moon.

August 23 - September 22 You're not normally one to take financial risks, but gambling could become a problem now. Compulsive energies from the Venus-Uranus conjunction can spiral out of control, and the Full Moon urges caution at every turn. September 23 - October 22 The focus now is on your personal identity versus your identity as part of a couple. If your freedom is restricted, or your partner is very jealous and possessive, these energies could mark a crisis point. Never be afraid to walk away.

SCORPIO

October 23 - November 21 Sweet Venus arrives in your love zone, so romance is very high on the agenda. Surprise dates and out of the blue proposals are the order of the day - the Full Moon certainly hints at a secret which will make you very happy!

SAGITTARIUS

November 22 - December 21 Risk taking is in your nature, but right now you're taking things much too far. Think carefully about your actions. With either love or money, you have so much to lose. Get support from a more grounded lover or friend.

CAPRICORN

December 22 - January 19 It's a joyful week in the family home, with positive change on the way. You may be moving home, or perhaps expanding your family. This has an impact on your career, however, and the Full Moon finds you thinking hard about the future.

AQUARIUS

January 20 - February 18 Your values and your open-mindedness are being tested, especially influenced by this week's Full Moon. You talk a good talk, but are you walking the walk? If not, expect to be found out, quite probably by an irate family member.

Source: new.theastrologer.com/weekly-horoscope/

March 21 - April 19 You love to shock, huh? The potent Venus-Uranus conjunction in Aries finds you doing something completely out of the blue, with no care for the consequences. It could be amazing. It could be disastrous. Handle with extreme care.

Cheesy

- 1 1/2 pounds Russet potatoes (3 large or 4 small potatoes) - 8 tablespoons of butter, divided - 1/2 large onion, finely chopped (about a cup) - 1/3 red bell pepper, finely chopped (about a 1/2 cup) - 2 cups cream of chicken soup - 2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese - 1 cup sour cream - 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, divided - 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper - 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs

Directions

1 2

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter an 8x8 baking dish. The potatoes: Scrub the potatoes clean, but leave the skins on.

6

Place them in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Allow to boil for about 10 minutes. Turn off heat and let the potatoes sit in the hot water for another 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

3

The onions and peppers: In a medium skillet, melt 5 tablespoons butter, cook the onions and bell pepper until the onions are soft and translucent, about 6 minutes. Set aside.

cheese, sour cream, 1 teaspoon of salt, and pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined. Spread into casserole dish.

4

6

Peel and shred the potatoes: Once the potatoes are cool enough to handle, score them along their equator with a paring knife. Twist each side in opposite directions to remove skin. The skin should pull off easily. If any bits of skin remain, trim them off with a knife. Shred the potatoes using a food processor fitted with the shredder disk, or shred them by hand using the large holes on a cheese grater.

5

Assemble the casserole: Transfer shredded potatoes to a large bowl, and mix with the cooked onions, pepper, cream of chicken soup, cheddar

Toast the breadcrumbs: In the same pan where you cooked the onions, melt remaining 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the panko and remaining 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir to coat. Toast panko, stirring frequently, until it takes on a golden hue, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the potatoes.

7

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes: When done, the potatoes should be bubbling around the edges, and the panko top will be golden.

8

Cool for 10 minutes, then spoon onto plates.

Ashna Coster

Changing people's lives and perceptions through makeup In life throughout our journey, we often try different activities to find our passion. The journey of Ashna Coster led her to explore photography, fashion and makeup. “These fields go hand in hand, but in the end my heart was for doing makeup”. By: Jade Mambre | Photography Ashna Coster

8

Ashna Coster, a 32-year-old woman, who is a down to earth, caring, very social, brave but yet a humble person was born and raised in Curaçao and is currently living in the Netherlands finishing her masters in global communication. As a little girl Ashna used to play around with her mother’s makeup. That is when the exploration started, but what truly sparked her interest was seeing one of her best friend’s fully glammed face at school when she was 15 years old. Creating collages from magazine cutouts of

makeup trends and looks and trying them on her friends and herself was how she started to learn more and practice applying makeup.

The beginning Ashna Coster, a woman with a creative soul, sees makeup as “a confidence booster”. “If makeup is applied correctly, it does not only look beautiful, but it makes a person feel beautiful”. In 2005, Ashna had an opportunity at the age of 20 to cast models and do their hair and

GOWEEKLY 13 2018 COVER STORY

makeup for her friends’ website, www. curstreet.com. “Immediately I realized that the one thing I enjoyed the most was doing makeup”. Afterwards between 2005 and 2010, she had many freelance jobs come her way, and people started to ask her for makeup tips and tricks. “After binge watching tons of videos, I took the courage to create a video with the intention to refer people to watch them for the tips they had asked me about”. For 5 years, she occasionally created tutorials on YouTube in Papiamentu on her channel “AshDefinesTV”, which she afterwards changed to “Ash Defines”. Doing makeup is what keeps Ashna “sane and relaxed”.

Ashna’s career The same year Ashna was creating YouTube videos, she got a job as a beauty advisor for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics at J.L.Penha. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree she worked in the buying and marketing department of the company. “In 2015, I made a

bold decision to move to Antwerp, Belgium. There I attended Make-Up Designory (MUD) Beauty School”. Ashna completed her master’s degree and received her artist ID card and her diploma that is recognized worldwide. That is when she changed her brand name to AshnaCosterBeauty. The

“Dream it, plan it, do it”

beauty industry is constantly changing, as there are always new styles and tricks to try. Ashna continues to explore and creating inspirational looks. She has worked in all areas of the beauty industry and believes that the biggest challenge is dealing with how her job, which is also her hobby, is being undervalued. She wishes that artists would “groom their talent, and learn more than only how to beat faces”. Ashna believes that “knowledge is power, because even makeup is not a one size fits all concept”.

Her entire journey, the people she meets, the traveling, the obstacles and Ashna’s growth as a person and as an artist are her inspirations throughout her career. Ashna believes makeup is about enhancing beauty. “Yes, you can do amazing transformation and use it as a creative outlet, but for the everyday women makeup is not supposed to change you”. Ashna is looking forward to graduate, to continue to grow as a teacher and to continue working. She is currently teaching one on one makeup classes and makeup artist development classes in the Netherlands, Belgium and Curaçao. “I am still learning and always open to share my knowledge”. To those who are interested, “there is room for everyone in the beauty industry. We need more educated professionals. Be open and humble to help and learn from one another”. Ashna Coster’s advice is to be yourself and to not compare yourself to others. “Find what makes you unique and build upon that. Be creative and take risks”.

Fly your kite! Temporada Di Fli

It is the period of kite that we all look forward to each year. An exciting part of it, especially for all the kids on the island, is creating a kite.. The following steps will guide you through the process of making your very own basic kite called the “X- kite”. Step 1: Place two of your wooden sticks on top of one and make a T-shape with the third stick. The sides of each stick should be the same length. Step 2: Bind the sticks with the yarn. Afterwards, cut off the excess strings. The frame of your kite is now done.

Step 5: Scrape the end of the fourth stick with a knife until you create a pointy end. Put the pointy end between the other sticks where they connect in the middle. Bind each end of the fourth stick with yarn and cut of the excess of the wood. Step 6: Give your kite a creative touch with colorful glassine paper with the help of a strong glue, Bison Kit. Step 7: Attach a tail made of old bed sheets of around 8 meters long to your kite.

Step 3: Bind the ends of the curved bamboo stick to two ends of your kite’s frame with yarn and cut the excess wood with a pincer.

Now that you are done, go outside and fly your kite!

Step 4: Create horizontal notches on each end of each stick. Stretch the string around the frame of your kite and make sure the string fits perfectly in the notches you created.
