GOWEEKLY 18 2017 HOROSCOPE

PISCES

February, 19 - March, 20 Let's be honest. You're known to be a tad rigid in your approach to the world. Although no one wants you to change who you are, chances are you'll enjoy this weekend a little more if you challenge your tendency to be inflexible and investigate whatever it is that's making you so defensive.

ARIES

Popular Taurus

DJ Chrisbeat Born: May 07, 1987

March 21, – April 19 Take hold of the reins of your current situation. July and August provide you with the chance to shift your perspective, thanks to a few opinions from unexpected sources. Ask folks for their advice; it may transform how you see your circumstances -- for the better.

GEMINI

May, 21 - June, 20 You could be doing a good job of concealing some intense feelings and emotions and might also be aware that whatever you're experiencing relies on you to take the initiative to resolve it. Talking about your issue with a close friend might only be helpful in terms of confirming the need to face what needs facing.

TAURUS

April, 20 - May, 20 There will be some changes within your workplace to contend with and you may wonder if this will affect your income stream. You may feel better and more secure in your financial position after you have a get together with your nearest and dearest to discuss your private matters and get some much needed advice.

LOVE However you choose to convey yourself to a loved one or potential partner now, your words could be a tough pill for someone to swallow. A sensitive conversation is needed and a sensitive issue needs to be brought into the open and concealed no longer. Time isn't on your side in ways you might wish it was.

2

LIBRA -

"Money

comes money goes"

CANCER

June, 21 - July, 22 Cancer, stick to what you know to be true and correct and by next week you will start to reap the benefits of your fixed decisions. You will still need to contend with some changes around you, but just make sure that you have all your information in order. Regain your energy and gather your thoughts for the following week.

LEO

July, 23 - August, 22 Your Love Life has just shifted up a gear and there is the possibility of someone else catching your eye! Even though you are one of the more loyal signs of the zodiac, you are allowed to appreciate beauty when it walks in front of you. Fated Unions are still possible now.

VIRGO

August, 23 - September, 22 You could be inclined to dismiss your inner voice as annoying rather than helpful, especially if it's encouraging you to remove yourself from a comfort zone and do what you'd normally refuse to do without a moment's hesitation.

LIBRA

September, 23 - October, 22 Money comes and Money goes. You need to get a grip on your finances. You have been given a second chance this week to get all your invoices/receipts/ledgers in order. With something big starting to formulate in your career sector, you must be ready financially to support your dreams.

SCORPIO

October, 23 - November, 22 You might have your finger squarely on the pulse of a situation involving someone close and be confident about the way it's progressing but a loved one might be more confused by your messages or actions than you realize. You know how and why something needs to be done 'by the book' but might be oblivious to how a promise has been broken in the process.

SAGITTARIUS

November, 23 - December, 21 You might have more than one reason for believing it's best to steer clear of others' dramas but you probably won't be able to remain detached for long, especially if you can see one huge, glaringly obvious factor someone isn't seeing or considering.

CAPRICORN

December, 22 - January, 19 You might be painfully aware of what's behind schedule but rather than throw yourself into a plan or responsibility with a view to making up lost time, this could be a perfect time to step back and spot a shortcut or two. Focusing on what truly matters can get you back on track.

AQUARIUS

January, 20 - February, 18 What buttons do you need to press with a loved one to get them to see and accept your point of view? That's a question you might have been asking yourself recently and it might not be answered.

GOWEEKLY 18 2017 ENTERTAINMENT

J-Rod first event as a couple

Every year the most avant-garde garb makes its way up the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and this year was no exception. Honouring 74-year-old Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo, the annual fundraising gala served up some looks that are sure to go down in the red carpet history. And Rihanna slayed the red carpet again! She arrived as one of the few celebs to don a Comme de Garcons dress. The avant-garde look was an architectural dream and offered a dramatic look at every angle. According to Vogue, the piece was inspired by 18th-century punks and consisted of floral fabrics that were layered and pulled apart to look like petals.

Kendall & A$AP Rocky Kendall Jenner has always been the best at keeping her relationship status under wraps while the rest of her sister’s love lives are constantly played out in the press. But, no dating rumour has been louder than her relationship with A$AP Rocky and now finally, photos from this year’s Met Gala seem to prove it! Kylie took to Instagram to share her 'annual bathroom selfie' from the star-studded gala where, right in the middle you can see the rumoured couple cozying up to each other for the shot. And then Kim Kardashian posted a candid photo on her Snapchat which pictured the rapper grabbing Kendall’s behind, which has easily been the most talked about topic at this year’s gala.

Rihanna outdoes everyone at Met Gala 2017

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez attended their first major event as a couple, hitting the red carpet at the 2017 Met Gala. Everyone was absolutely living for the love she and Alex Rodriguez showed to each other as the two arrived at the Met Gala together. This marked the first time they attended a big event since going public with their romance! Their love is not just official – it’s now red carpet official!

If you, too, have fallen victim to foot pain, then you'll love this at-home remedy. It's soothing, cooling, and exfoliating. Plus, you probably already have many of the ingredients in your kitchen already!

Cucumber Mask for your feet Ingredients - 2 whole cucumbers (one per foot) - 2 tablespoons lemon juice - 2 tablespoon olive oil

Steps Mix all ingredients in a blender until purĂŠed. Pour the mixture into a bowl, and heat it up to warm temperature. Place half of the mixture in a large baggie and the other half in a second baggie. Slide feet into each baggie, rubbing cucumber mask until each foot is fully soaked. Leave on for ďŹ ve to 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. The cucumber is extra refreshing and reviving for tired toes, the lemon helps exfoliate, and the olive oil deeply moisturizes for super softness.

Mothers are the pillar of a household, even of the society. Their lessons guide us throughout our lives. Mothers are inspiring embodiments of strength, determined drivers of progress and through their examples their children learn the values of grace, empathy and kindness. Izaline and her band will perform a two-day concert entitled ‘Mama, Amor sin límite’, guest starring Mafalda Miguel, on 13 and 14 of May 2017 at Brakkeput Mei Mei. The evening will be full of touching musical notes led by Randal Corsen and filled with messages to celebrate those who were the first to welcome us into the world. Go Weekly spoke to Izaline, who is a mother herself, about the concert, being a mother and her future career plans. Editor: Hayson Nicholls | Photography: Hester Doove, Johannes Odé

Izaline, you’re back on the island for a very special mother’s day concert: 'Mama... Amor sin límite' with Randal Corsen. Can you tell us more about this special event and what we can expect on this day? It is going to be a homage to all mothers, the ones who are still here with us and the ones who are gone. I won't be singing only songs about mothers, it is going to be a well-balanced repertoire where I will be accompanied by Randal Corsen and the mother of Curaçao Salsa, Mafalda Miguel.

8

Why is this concert so special to you? I strongly believe that Curaçao is built on mothers. They are the strength of our society. The Doble R band once said: "Ta muhe ta manda mundu". So it is very important to me that these women are celebrated in a big way.

You are a mother yourself. How do you experience that on a daily basis? It is like karma. I recognize things that my daughter is doing, that I did when I was a kid. I now understand more of what my mother was telling me or warning me

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 18 2017

"I strongly believe that Curaçao is built on mothers. They are the strength of our society"

about now that I am a mother. Sometimes I look at my daughter and think: "wait until you are a mother and you will see what it is all about".

You’ve accomplished a lot in your career as a singer, songwriter and business woman. What’s your key to success? I have an enormous drive and will to work hard. I must say that I am also very disciplined. I have a good sense in selecting the people I work with. I put my trust in certain people and I do get really great results in return.

Your latest collaboration with Miguel Gersen, 'Baila cumi' is out. Do you have more projects/ collaborations coming soon? This is going to be my year of collaborations. I recently worked with Rich Kalashh, now with Miguel. I have some really cool stuff pending. I love working with talented people.

Favourite song: 'Plegaria' by Chin Behilia, 'Atardi (Kòrsou ta bunita)' by Rudy Plaate and 'Voá Borboleta' from Sara Tavares. Favourite local food: 'Banana stoba'. That is my favorite! Role model: My mom. Can’t live without: I can’t live without my family. Always in my bag: My make-up bag, a bubble straw (to train your voice), my phone and my headset.

Most embarrassing moment on stage: A few years ago I performed in Mexico and when we arrived at the venue there were no instruments for my band to play with. While we were waiting for the instruments I called some kids on stage and we used barrels and a chapi and we performed Seú songs together. This was also my most memorable performance. Guilty pleasure: I love to watch the serie Victorious. A very silly comedy, but also very satisfying.

The best advice your mom gave you: To find out who I am. To discover myself.
