GOWEEKLY 28 2017 HOROSCOPE

PISCES

February, 19 - March, 20 Someone in your social circle could be jealous of you. Try not to take this personally, as a lack of confidence may be causing the person to act that way. Talk it out, you may discover the deeper reason and help resolve the issue.

ARIES

March, 21 - April, 19 You might feel moved to discuss an issue that has been bubbling beneath the surface. However, other lighter and brighter influences can help you do this in a way that encourages cooperation and understanding. Being honest and open about it is the best approach.

Popular Cancer

Vin Diesel Born: July 18, 1967

CANCER

June, 21 - July, 22 It’s possible that you and another may not see eye to eye. If so, the coming week encourages you to take gentle steps to resolve the situation. Tension could continue in the background over the coming days, so find a way to handle it positively.

LOVE If you are wondering how to go about finding that special person, then you would be better off seeking out some new social groups that share similar ideas and ideals to those you hold and are interested in. In this kind of situation you will have far more success, and more opportunity. Be adventurous!

2

TAURUS

April, 20 - May, 20 While it’s good to be open with others, the early part of this week might need delicate handling. Intense opinions may be exchanged over the days ahead, but if taken in the right spirit, this can bring you closer to a person or group.

GEMINI

May, 21 - June, 20 Money matters could be uppermost in your mind. Keep calm and do your best to sort things out. This focus on your income brings an opportunity to get your finances back on track.

LEO

July, 23 - August, 22 Situations that seem out of your control could show up this week, and it might even seem as though fate is playing a hand in them. This is a time to reflect on your motives and feelings concerning key areas of your life.

VIRGO

August, 23 - September, 22 Cat-and-mouse games may be going on between you and a good friend. If so, the days ahead encourage you to get any issues out into the open. You might find yourself sharing things that you wouldn’t have divulged a few days ago.

LIBRA

September, 23 - October, 22 There’s no need to pressure yourself this week. It might seem like the more you accomplish, the easier it will be to impress others. Deeper feelings could intrude, and you might begin to resent this approach.

SCORPIO

October, 23 - November, 22 Your mind could be on far horizons and on enjoying the chance to explore new vistas. You may feel moved to act impulsively and perhaps assert your independence rather than complete key responsibilities.

"Cat-andmouse games may be going on between you and a good friend" VIRGO -

SAGITTARIUS

November, 23 - December, 21 Money matters might need attention this week. You could benefit by tactfully handling those who hold authority over financial affairs, even if you feel like being brutally honest.

CAPRICORN

December, 22 - January, 19 Adopting an easygoing approach when dealing with others can help this week proceed more smoothly. There could be a tendency to want to be in control of proceedings, and some people might find this hard to handle.

AQUARIUS

January, 20 - February, 18 It wouldn’t be surprising if you were more emotional than usual this week. The reason may be due to an awkward aspect that could bring up feelings from the past. Talking things through with a trusted friend or confidant can help you feel more settled.

GOWEEKLY 28 2017 ENTERTAINMENT

Selena posted a series of photos on social media with the caption 'Fetish', leading many to believe it could be the title of an upcoming song.

Selena teases new song 'Fetish'

For those of you who didn’t know, Tupac and Madonna dated for a while. Don't worry, we didn't know either. In a newly surfaced letter reportedly written by rapper Tupac Shakur to Madonna says he split up with her because of race issues. The letter, dated 15 January 1995, would have been written from a New York prison where he was serving a fourand-a-half year sentence for sexual assault. "For you to be seen with a black man wouldn't in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting. But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my 'image' I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you." In the letter, which will be auctioned on the Gotta Have Rock And Roll website later this month, Shakur added he had grown 'spiritually and mentally'. "Please understand my previous position as that of a young man with limited experience with an extremely famous sex symbol." Madonna confirmed two years ago that they dated in early 1994, but did not say for how long.

Daniel reportedly signs on for Bond 25 If true, this means that the saga over the next James Bond is at an end, with The Mirror reporting that producer Barbara Broccoli has convinced Daniel Craig to sign on for a fifth outing as 007 in Bond 25. Craig had originally cast doubt over his future as the super spy. It has been reported on several occasions that he turned down large sums of money to return, yet the star always remained the number one choice for producers of the franchise.

Tupac split with Madonna over race issues

The 13-Reasons-Why producer can be seen casually sitting in the middle of the street while rocking a yellow dress and white sneakers, as she holds her hands over her ears and stares blankly into the camera. Her beau, The Weeknd, wasn’t far behind with the promotion. The Canadian singer, who is constantly showing his girlfriend some love on Instagram, immediately commented 'Fetish' on the picture. Although the singer did not give any details on when she's releasing the song, we're anticipating a video will be out soon.

We all know the feeling we get when we go out on our first date. You want to impress her, you want to be different, yet we think along the similar lines. A movie and dinner. But step out of your comfort zone! Drop the usual candle lit places and overly cheesy romantic flicks! Be bold, be daring! Editor: Miguel Gonzalez Perret-Gentil

Having problems breaking the ice? Take her mountain climbing! Pick her up at the crack of dawn, pack a bag of goodies, which includes; fruits and plenty of water. Keep it a surprise. Just tell her to dress for an outdoor activity. Remember, not every girl is open to this, so make sure you’ve been talking for a while and once you realize that she is as crazy as you are, than just go for it!

After climbing the Christoffelberg, take her swimming, but not to your usual spots. Try Playa San Juan. Just make sure you have a sturdy car. Take a grill and make her lunch! Pack everything you need so she sees that you thought of everything! Wanna go the extra mile?

Ask a friend of hers what her preference of food is and take a bottle of bubbles for the end of the day. Bubbles and sunset, what else could you want? Hope you enjoyed it and let us know what you think!

GOWEEKLY 28 2017 COVER STORY

Soaps from the Curaรงao collection box

A soap Age is only a number. Not a limitation. At 55 years young, Daphne Bos decided to put herself to the test. Living for 35 years in the Netherlands, with a stable job, family and friends, yet she felt that there was something missing. As a coach/trainer for a leading energy company in the Netherlands, she was constantly stressed, under pressure to perform. She grew tired of the hectic big city lifestyle. She ached for peace and tranquility. Her husband Jan pushed her towards that decision. Supportive as he is, his motto was, 'do what makes you smile', and she did. She thought about it for about two years before taking the plunge into the unknown. She quit her job packed her bags (and her Jan) and returned home to Curaรงao in 2015 where her journey continued. Editor: Miguel Gonzalez Perret-Gentil

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 28 2017

state of mind Wasn’t it a big step? It was, but it was necessary. I was stuck. I needed fresh air, I longed for it. Jan was so supportive, funny enough he started the whole thing. Ever since he visited Curaçao for the first time, he fell in love with our culture, our people our little rock in paradise. I was hesitant, because how could I change my husband’s life like this? But he mentioned it so often, it just made the choice to move much easier. For some reason this feels like home to him, which is great. I will give you an example

of how much he loves this little rock. Back in Holland he would drive around with the Curaçao flag in the car, I love him for that! So, as soon as we moved I started looking everywhere for a new job, but at my age (55 at the time) it made it ten times harder to find something. So at a certain point I started working at a call center. That only lasted 6 months. They wanted to keep me, but I was lying to myself. I didn’t leave everything behind for this? I need to smile again, to be happy! So I quit.

Wash away your troubles with soap… I started doing different things to fill up my time while searching for inspiration. Than one afternoon while washing my hands, I noticed how dry they were, cracked like dry mud. How is this possible in warm weather, I would expect this from colder weather? But here? In paradise? So I stopped using my regular soap and dove right away into full blown research mode. But none of the other options seemed interesting or healthy enough to replace my current soap

9

GOWEEKLY 28 2017 COVER STORY

situation. Suddenly it happened, that little light bulb you see in cartoons when you get an idea? That was it…. Why not make my own soap?

Trial and error So there I was, after sleepless nights of doing research, I was ready to try it out. I had all my ingredients, my colorants and fragrances all FDA approved which simply means that it is healthier and better for our skin. I felt like I was re discovering myself through this process. I was nervous, excited, not knowing what to expect, but it’s that curiosity which pushed me to keep on trying. Like an innovator, first time adventure here I come, with my apron from neck to toe, my goggles, gloves, long sleeves you name it I was ready! 4 hours later and I had my first batch of soap! After much practice I became a self-proclaimed 'Soaper'. Now I can easily push out a few batches of 15 soaps per hour.

What makes your soaps different? I guess it’s the creativity that I use to make them. They are non-conventional soaps and I make sure that all my ingredients are FDA approved as I said before. To me the number one priority is to sell a healthy product. My soap making process started out trying to make the most artsy yet beautiful soaps. This evolved into combining scents, with different oils to create the perfect tool to awaken all your senses. They are all handcrafted at home with the help of Jan who is the mastermind behind all my molds.

Special edition 22 Karat Gold Silk soap

"To me the number one priority is to sell a healthy product"

The soaps

I’m amazingly inspired by my surroundings. The ocean, our people, our nature. That’s what inspired the Curaçao special edition box. Which consists of four soaps inspired by; our flag, the kadushi, the beach and the trupial. Besides those I also make my best sellers such as the Lemon Fresh Soap but, I also have my crazy moments where I’ll make a beer soap. Yes you read it correctly beer soap! You

Dushi U Curacao Tel: +5999 673-3351

would be surprised how good it smells! I also made my special edition 22 Karat Gold Silk soap.

The Future What the future holds? I don’t know. What I do know is that I’m on the path that I was searching for. I found something I love to do. My business is still growing, funds are limited so I have to be creative. From making our own packaging, to branding the product, learning how to advertise ourselves online, to dishwashing. I'll do anything to make this dream come true. Thank God it is going well. I was approached by the Renaissance to sell my products there, and my popularity is growing by attending various fairs on the Island as well. I just want to invite everyone to try it out, give it a chance and hopefully you will fall in love with it just like I did.

Snapchat Spectacles Just in case you didn’t hear, Snapchat released camera sunglasses called Spectacles in November 2016. These Spectacles will film everything from your perspective, literally. Regardless of age (or activity), if you use Snapchat a lot, Spectacles open up the possibility of 'snapping' hands-free, phone-free moments.

Pros - Filters, emojis and text are available to use once the video's in Snapchat, it's just like editing a regular snap. - They don't need to be connected to a phone to work, only when you want to view and post snaps. - They won't fall off your face if you jump around or play sports.

12

- They feel like regular sunglasses and they look pretty good on just about everyone. - Video quality is great for Snapchat. If the light is good you're getting a pretty decent picture. - Spectacles record circular video. You can rotate your phone to see more of the image.

Cons - Spectacles take video only. No still images. - The audio is good, but not great. It picks up sound pretty well from the wearer so narrating the action is what you'll end up doing most of the time. - Spectacles only work with Snapchat.

If the Snap Spectacles are not enough to satisfy your capturing cravings than we are pretty sure this will help!

Ninja Mask

The H2o GoPro Underwater Ninja Mask gives you a clear view of everything around you. All the while, you can breathe naturally through both your nose and mouth as you would on land. In addition, extending up the top of the mask is an air valve so you can keep your face underwater for as long as you’d like.

Capture As an upgrade to the original, the GoPro Ninja Mask offers a mount to hold your favorite action cam. Securing in place, you can use your GoPro to capture photos and videos of the underwater world, and what better place to use it than our own local underwater paradise! So gear up and take a dive into the unknown this summer!

"Flavored with fresh ginger, cilantro, green onions, and sesame oil, these juicy burgers end up tasting like a spicy Asian meatball"

Sources: goodhousekeeping.com

Ingredients

1. In cup, stir mayonnaise and soy sauce until blended; set aside. From limes, grate 1/2 teaspoon peel and squeeze 3 tablespoons juice. In large bowl, toss together lime peel and juice with cabbage and1/4 teaspoon salt; set aside. 2. Lightly spray ridged grill pan or skillet with nonstick cooking spray, then heat on medium until hot. 3. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine beef, cilantro, green onions, ginger, sesame oil, crushed red pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until blended, but do not overmix. Shape beef mixture into four 3/4-inch-thick burgers, handling meat as little as possible for best texture. 4. Place burgers in hot grill pan; cook 10 to 12 minutes for medium or until desired doneness, turning burgers over once halfway through cooking. 5. Serve burgers on buns with slaw and soy mayonnaise. Serve with any additional slaw on the side.
