SCORPIO
October 23 - November 21 You’re immediately attracted to someone new over the weekend, and there’s no denying the chemistry. Are there good reasons to wait before getting physical? Yes. Does that mean you will? Probably not.
2
May 21 - June 20 Although your overall mood is quite grounded and stable, there will be sporadic events throughout the day that threaten to throw you out of balance. Be open and accepting of these events.
CANCER
June 21 - July 22 You are talking a great deal - possibly in an effort to impress others. Be aware of the fact that you may be alienating the very people that you need to have on your side. Gossip about others is not a good idea.
LEO
July 23 - August 22 You may have been trying to figure out a way to raise money for a new venture, and now it may well be possible. This is a great time to clear up any final payments you may need to make while also finding ways to connect with possible investors.
VIRGO
August 23 - September 22 You hide your emotional needs from others. You need to be able to trust someone in order to share your feeling. Today you could save a lot of time in your love life if you just tell your partner what you want.
September 23 - October 22 If you need to tell someone important how you feel about them, then do it now while you feel in a more assertive mood than you have for some time. But hurry - before the courage disappears as quickly as it arrived.
November 22 - December 21 You may have doubts over the next few days. Don't make any important decisions about your future during this period. If someone in your professional or personal life asks you to make more of a commitment, wait a while before answering this kind of question.
"Don't dodge the truth, come out with it" PISCES -
CAPRICORN
December 22 - January 19 This week you will be meeting more people, and your encounters are likely to be more profound. The coming weeks are quite promising for you. The music will be in the key to pleasure and sensuality. Allow the music to fill your senses!
AQUARIUS
January 20 - February 18 This week you are encouraged to face up to the facts as they are, and begin the process of sorting through the situation step-by-step. Although this may not provide immediate relief, it is a thorough solution, and will work in the long-term.
PISCES
February 19 - March 20 You will feel encouraged to talk frankly and honestly - up to a point. On some issues you may be tempted to beat about the bush, and not make yourself completely clear. Don’t dodge the truth, come out with it.

March 21 - April 19 Watch your reactions in the first part of the week. If you tend to overreact, do your best to remain calm. Blowing things out of proportion won’t help keep the harmony in your relationship.

Ariana Grande’s song to her exes Ariana Grande dropped a new song, “Thank U, Next,” that alludes to her exes Pete Davidson and Mac Miller. Grande starts the song, by reviewing her past romances with dancer Ricky Alvarez, rapper Big Sean, comedian Davidson and musician Miller, who died last September. “Thought I’d end up with Sean / But he wasn’t a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married / And for Pete, I’m so thankful / Wish I could say ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel,” she sings. “One taught me love / One taught me patience / One taught me pain / Now I’m so amazing,” she continues before the chorus: “Thank you, next / Thank you, next / Thank you, next / I’m so f—ing grateful for my ex.”

Churandy Martina
“Everything depends on you” Churandy Martina was born and raised on our island, Curaçao, and he is now living in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Believe it or not, the first sport he did was swimming when he was around 5 years old. After that, he had a taste of baseball, football, and volleyball, but when he went to 5Kamp in the fifth and sixth year of elementary school, one individual recognized Churandy’s talent, which was his ability to run really fast. By: Jade Mambre | Photography provided by Churandy Martina After discovering his talent, the people around him encouraged him to join a team, which at that time was Trupial. Around the age of 10, he won 3rd price in Aruba in 1994. He enjoyed going abroad and running
8
and seeing all the other athletes around him. At some point in his life, he had to make a decision to either choose for volleyball or athletics. That is when athletics became the main sport in his life.
From the start, Churandy was serious about his career, so he started training with Wendell Prince when he was 14 years old. At that time, “I already knew that I am a fast runner,” so he continued with what he does best, sprinting.
GOWEEKLY 45 2018 COVER STORY
He managed to participate in all the races in the Caribbean, World Championship, and so much more. During the Pan American race in Barbados, a few American coaches saw him run and asked him to attend a school in the United States, which he did after he finished MTS where he studied engineering in Curaçao. “School has always been important to my parents.” In the United States in 2005, he studied civil engineering, and then he switched his academic program to multi-disciplinary studies. He got his degree in 2009. In 2006, he signed with Nike, which was when he became a professional athlete. In the past, Nike asked Churandy twice before he officially signed, yet he didn’t because he wanted to experience running for his school in the US. Not long after, he took the offer the third time they asked. “Even though I signed professionally, I made sure to stay in school.” After 10-10-10, in 2011, he joined the team in Holland.
“Live to ight another day.”
The Olympics
In 2003, he participated in the World Senior Championship in Paris, which was a new and different experience [compared to the Olympics.) “These experiences shaped my world. When running, I did my best. [Yet,] due to all the elements around you, you are not the athlete you were who trained to get to where you are.” Due to his experiences in Paris, he somewhat knew what to expect of his next experience, which was indeed his
first Olympic race in Athens, Greece in 2004, where he ran 100 meters. The second time he ran, he was not one of the firsts to be able to go to the semi-finals, “which was again a learning point.” In 2008, Churandy Martina participated in the Olympics for the second time. He was placed fourth for running 100 meters and second for running 200 meters, which was the time he stepped on the line. He believes it was not worth getting mad, as nothing would have changed. He believes in learning from his experiences to do the best he can the next time. You simply have to “live to fight another day.” In 2012, he was placed fifth in the races of 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 meters. Additionally, he was placed fifth for the race of 200 meters for the Olympic games of 2016.
What does it take? “First of all, you need to know what you want, to know where you need to go. You need to work hard.” Sacrifices need to be made and you need to have the discipline to reach your goal. “At the end of the day, you are human.” Still, try not to deviate from your path. Keep in mind that “everything depends on you. You have to persevere.” In his opinion, a lot of people don’t get help from e.g. sponsors. A lot of people have to do everything on their own. “Once you are where you want to be, everything will come to you, which is sad, as no one helped you get where you are, but even so you’ll need people along the way.” I worked at a carwash, I packed grocery bags in supermarkets, I did so many things
myself to get this far. “Everything I went through to get here took a lot of myself, but God also helps you go through it all... one way or another.” It's a lot to deal with and a lot to go through before you reach your goal, but talk to God.” He has a bigger plan.
“God… helps you go through it all”
Churandy has a unique outlook on his life and his achievements. He is aware of what he achieved; however, he does not see the magnitude of his achievements like his fans do. He is a down to earth person who simply does what he does best, the best he can. Even so, he believes that success means to have a goal and to reach that goal. Churandy wanted to participate in the Olympics, go to the United States, and become a professional athlete and he definitely succeeded. So, we believe it is safe to say that Churandy Martina is a successful young man who is thriving and shining! His smile says it all!
Did you know? - He was the most positive Dutchman of 2016 and has been nominated again this year. Guess what, he won! He is now the most positive Dutchman of 2018. - He will be participating in the Olympics of 2020! - There’s a Churandy Martina Day on October 9th.
