01.Ripples, events after events.
ĺż çžŠ Elementry School What is the role that the disadvantaged group play in the society? Wanhua District is said to be the most disadvatage regin of Taipei, especially the area called South Airport. How is the "disadventage" be like? What does "disadavntaged group" be like in one's imagination when everyone talks in that way? When observing aroud the site, I emphasised exploring the relationships between what people called disadvantages and not disadvatages. Moreover, wandering about what made them disadvantage and also how they feel theirselves are disadvantage? Under the common acknowledgment of being one of disadvataged area, some special relationships brought up.
The community events slices This is the events slices of ĺż çžŠ elementry students. They do almost everything together in the community, from eduction in school, everyday diet, entertaiments, also studying. In the community, somthing unusal can be seen. A group of disadvantaged people unites together in the environment that only allows disadvantageds be. They were centralized. They take are of each other. However, this is not how the society really works. Everyone should live in the same environment. People are co-exsist to each other, not separated to each. The invisible isolated space, the community welfare center only for disadvantageds, is like a stagnation space, the events are still, not seeing the outside world. Looking back to the clssroom units in schools, they have the same problem.
What I tried to do is getting rid of the invisivble isolation. The goal is to active the space. Applying the circular space, different kinds of events and activities will happen around every corner. Events happen in any field. Children in the space proactively make their own field.
Putting the activities that required two or more children,such as reading,playing in free spaces, using computer, having meal, doing homework, into public area, increase the fluidity oppourtunuty of children. In this kind of flowable space, children can explore different activity experiences on their
own. Children can find thier own role play in the school and also what the role ĺż çžŠ school plays in their own definition. With this kind of interaction between students and space, they are no more passively receive the education. Use varyplay grounds as connections of spaces, achieve the flow.
How can play ground spaces circulate? Different kinds of play ground can offer vary kinds of disire of playing around. By setting plenty of play grounds can chieve different fuctions and purposes. The spaces are open to each other. The sight is continuous among field to field. When noticing different kind of activity in another field, children will run to the field and join the activity. That is how play grounds make the fluidity circulation happen.
As children at different years required different kinds of playing elements, the playing activities should regared as the divide of different groups of students. Simultaniously, the school will give a new role to the community. The recycle circulation can be a new role for the community to play. The added program will redefine South Airport area. As the thinking of people changed, the condition will never be the same.
Using the exsisting work, recycle, as the basis of the new recycle program, the recycle scale will enlarge. Centralized the recycleable sourses, plastic, into the plazza that will transport things into the factory that transfer plastic into basic particles. The knowledge of this process will be an important part in the elementry education. ĺż çžŠ elementry school will offer characteristic eduction that suppot the porgram.
A play ground offers vary sights and body action. It is locates at the center of the classrooms, act as the main connection of students.
A play ground consists of absetract elements locationg in highest floor in the school. Nearing the seniors, the play ground also offers socail function.
There are no clear boundary between open areas and classrooms. Classrooms actually share the same space which students make thier own field.

An endless loop forms a new kind of track. Children could not stop running on the track because they have to keep theirselves on the slope with speed.
With the huge slide and climing playground at the main enterence, children can enjoy the space from the time they enter the school.
02. A Conversation
with Water Tamsui Hostel As a traveler who stays in hostel, looking forward to the special experiences at that place is a little wish that hidden in mind. Backpackers choose hostels not only due to the cheeper rooms but also expect to experience a memoriable interaction with poeple there. In this case, hostels become special locations that make everything happens, so hostels can decide what kind of events to make. In Taipei, Tamsui is the town that doing a lot with water. Water used to be a part of everyone's life. This time, the hostel choose water as the material that promote Tamsui to every travelers, also as the material that make events happen here.
Tamsui River had done a lot with residents' life decades ago, people here lived with the river.Although the interaction they used to have with the water was filled in by the riverbank, the tide is still the same.
With a large entend of tide level change, the scence brings vary feeling of space. The most interesting is, in some times in a year, the tide level raises upon the bank. That brings a speicial experiment.
The stable of water level and the moist weather make Tamsui become a place suitable for fishing. When asking where those fishers from, it is surprise that they are mostly residents nearby. In other word, fishing is a habit of residents there.
The activity memory in Tamsui. Tamsui is a town consist of river and mountain. The envirionment formed a rule of the open spaces. In vary kinds of open spaces, people enjoy two types mostly: 1. greem belt around the river and 2. the space formed by houses from three sides.
Travelers share the space in many part of the day with fishes while they mostly not use the space at the same time with residents who come here to rest.ďźŒPutting in fishing tackles maimtain station, laundary, and tide wall as program, different users can share the smae events at the same field.
Hostels apart sleep from other functions in living, forcing travelers interact in common spaces.The commom room stimulates travelers form connections with each other, so it become a sicial field. If making a break into the social field with outer field, the fields become to mix togrther, emerging a new way of activity.
That is the hostel connection only in Tamsui. Simultaniously, the new field can add travelers to residents' lifestyle. Travelers can experience the habit here such as fishing, siting by the river. This is the exclusive memory in Tamsui.
In order to make a good open space, putting street furnitures in to sepatate the spcae into the sicailable scale. Through the attraction in the envirionment, make people notice the river. Using the hatch with direction to indicate that something happen over there, using the sense of human, such as hear and small, expanding the field.
The hostel is consist of plenty of semi-ourdoor spaces in order to share the field with open spaces. Almost in every corner of the hostel can see the activitis happen in the courtyard. This can stimulate the willing to go outside.
The tide wall will filled with the water when the river is full with water. In other hand, some water will leak out of it, forming small streams around the courtyard. People can enjoy the short term waterscape.

05.Where the home was Vister Center in Huwei town, Yunlin
Home, is a place people want to be. Military Kindred Villages are regarded as historical sites today but they were homes before. People in the village had looked foeward to ret back to China, not willing to stay in Huwei. Time flys, getting back had became impossible for them. Gradually this village was regarded as their home. Now, their home were destroyed again. They have no place to go. Thus, the purpose is to build a home at a recognizable corner in the village. Make the memories welcome the tourists: Welcome to my home in Huwei.
Huwei was an important area in the histoy of Yunlin. There used to be the place support the hole county. At present, it become the entrence of Yunlin because of the settle of THSR station. 建 國眷村 stands at an important lacation in a tourism axis.
How the homes in 建國眷 村 were like? Some specific elements formed the village, some habit formed the memories. Different thing s combine together to bring out their home.
Commensal, is an importand part of Military Kindred Villages. People eat together to built relationships. No matter domestic or neighborhood. Comensal diffuse everywhere.
Putting private space and public space apart, public spaces are regarded as commemsal spaces. In other words, spaces are formed by commensal concept.
The village eating commensal in several places that in one common point: outdoors. People used to enjoy the environment outdoor more because can have a connection with neighbor closer.
Let events happen outside the house! This is the main concept of the spaces. People share the space with same activity. The interior that share the same activity will spread out to the outdoor. The bouondary between indoor and outdoot is ambiguous. This is how people enjoy thei life.
06. Flowing Congregate community center People from different viilages lives in this area. Roughly a building represents a village. As their living lifestyle chaged, residents congrgate in other ways. They are usually public spaces with private space atmosphere. Nontheless, people show up in those spaces share some kinds of relationship. With three kinds of relationships, it was represented by the living room behavior. As a living room in public space, welcoming more guests to the space will become a circulation that will create the flow of congregation. Events that share the same field will gradually mix up to enlarge the event. That is the flow. Putting core circulation as the center of flow, events congregate together.

Using the same furniture pattern that can continute activities from outdoors to indoors, and also inside out. The soft lines that form the basic look on the community center also indicate the flowing directions. The arrangment will lead poeple to join together. The small plazza on first floor with gentle height difference is a good place for elderlys and children. Children enjoy the space by jumpimg up and down and playing games in many small stackles. Elderlys will feel how energetic kids are and the space can be easy for them to sit and lay down.
