How Design a Seafood Truck.

The process of designing a seafood truck in the Midwest.

Objective.

The objective of this project was to take the 250 lobsters I drew for our first project and create a food truck with them. I worked to create a food truck that was both sophisicated and playful at the same time.

I am extremely happy with how my designs turned out, but I think I’m done with lobsters for the year.

Research.

The following pages include my notes when brainstorming what my brand will be. I had a lot of ideas of what I wanted my brand to be, but struggled connecting them altogether. I ended up having to leave out some concepts I wanted but they were for the better.

Sketches.

The following pages include sketches of initial ideas for my food truck. I didn’t have a solid plan of what I wanted and was still feeling it out but wasn’t getting where I wanted. But hey it’s sketches, that’s what they are for.

Brand Boards.

After the initial sketches, I used some of them to create two brand boards. I had one brand board that was strong that I was wanting to do. We then revised the two boards and I created a new direction that also liked. So the task was to figure out a way to combine the two.

Food Trucks.

The foodtrucks were tricky for me. I had to figure out a way to incorporate my swirly pattern into the truck without being too overwhelming. I did not realize how complicated designing trucks would be.
