6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Luke 2:7-14
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him!
It’s Christmas! A time of good cheer and holiday festivities, a time for singing carols and celebrating with family and friends. Twinkling lights, gaily wrapped presents, laughing children, jingling bells, fresh-cut pine . . . these are the sights and sounds of Christmas.
Yet as the world celebrates the holiday, may the true meaning of Christmas never be lost. The birth of Jesus is our reason for the season. The Son of God came to give us hope and peace, to show us His Father’s love and compassion for everyone.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23
The only way to truly enjoy Christmas, is to look up into the
Father’s face and tell him you have received His Christmas gift . . . our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Eternal life and endless joy are parts of the gift. Christmas began in the heart of God. It is complete only when it reaches the heart of man.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
Christmas is all about seeing Jesus in every tradition, every celebration, and every moment of the Christmas season. So we will not “spend” Christmas . . . nor “observe” Christmas. We will “keep” Christmas . . . may we keep it in our hearts that we may be kept in its hope.
During this holiday season we will remember and celebrate the coming of our savior. The one who was chosen by God and sent with a

purpose and destiny. The one who was called, appointed and anointed to save all mankind. This holiday season we will honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was sent to give us a hope and a future. Jesus Christ came that we might have life in abundance, to the full, to the overflow.
Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere, Go tell it on the mountain That Jesus Christ is born!

THE CHRISTMAS MI CLE OF A MUSICAL JOURNEY
The 1970s were truly a golden age for high-end stereo brands. One Christmas morning, when I was in my early teens, I received a stereo system—either a Sony, Pioneer, or Kenwood, I can’t quite remember. I was beyond excited, as any young boy would be, and I couldn’t thank my mother enough for such a generous gift. But as I walked over to the parking lot where most of my friends lived, I saw them riding these new bikes called “Maroons.” Tommy, Andre, Anthony, Cubby, Michael, Gerald, and the others all had them, and in that moment, I felt left out. I ran back home, bursting with disappointment, and begged my mother to return the stereo and exchange it for one of those shiny new bikes.
I will never forget the look on her face. I’d never seen her eyes well up with tears until that moment. She looked at me and said, “Anthony, I wanted to inspire your journey. I know how much you love music. When I saw that stereo, I just had to get it for you.”
It took me a little while to understand, but eventually, I did. Just a few days later, my friends knocked on my door and surprised me with a burgundy, maroon bike. To this day, I still don’t know where they got it from, but I was finally able to ride with them up and down the hills, feeling like one of the gang. Eventually, I outgrew that bike, but what my mother saw in me that Christmas—the music, the passion, the drive—was something I’d never outgrow.
Little did I know, I would later cross paths with a good friend, Richard Mosley, the producer at G’s Productions. He asked me to come in and do some recording, and I jumped at the chance. That led to my first CD, Love Songs of the Heart, which is available on YouTube, along with two gospel singles— “Heaven Lift My Spirit” and “Lord Stand By Me,” both with a touch of rap flavor.
This musical journey is far from over. My dreams are big, and I hope one day to write songs for legendary artists like John Legend, Marvin Sapp, Smokey Robinson, and many others. My greatest aspiration is to perform my signature love songs, “Candy of My Eyes” and “I Never Meant to Hurt You,” with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Though my mother is now with the Lord, I can never thank her enough for that Christmas gift that started me on this miraculous musical journey.
Merry Christmas, and may your gifts lead you on your own miracle journey.
That Christmas marked the beginning of my musical journey. It inspired me to write lyrics that would be set to music by recording companies. I sang with a soul group that echoed the Motown Sound, “The Midnight Four,” and was even invited to join more notable groups as they recognized my talent. Over the years, I explored my love for music by playing drums and the saxophone, but it was the words I wrote that truly resonated.
In high school, I fell for a beautiful young lady named Kathy, and I wrote her romantic poems that I still cherish to this day.

Hope on a Silent Night
Hope on a Silent Night
By Bishop Anthony R. Williams, The Encouragement Enforcer
Even when the world seems still, filled with uncertainty, and the night feels heavy, we can trust that God will always bring a flicker of hope. In the quiet moments, like a soft glow in the dark, His light shines through. Just as a single star guided the wise men through the vast, shadowy night, so too does the hope of a new dawn lead us forward.
On that Silent Night, the glorious angels stood at the gates of heaven and earth, awaiting the moment to announce the birth of the newborn King, as foretold: “For unto us a child is born” (Isaiah 9:6). In the stillness, hope shone brightly, illuminating a path ahead—a reminder that even in the darkness, a spark of hope remains. We were not created to walk in darkness, but to follow the light of His promises.
Our Savior, who can pierce through any darkness with His radiant presence, walks beside us, just as He did with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. They said, “Did not our hearts burn within us as He talked with us along the way?” (Luke 24:32).
The beloved Christmas carol, “Silent Night,” carries within its melody a profound message of hope. Though the world may seem quiet or even silent, the song stirs our hearts to remember that peace, love, and hope are still at work, even in the darkest of times. It is not just the ability to sing that brings joy, but the deeper truth embedded in the lyrics that lifts our spirits. When we sing “Silent Night, Holy Night,” we echo a message of faith that brings new meaning to the season.
The stable where Jesus was born, in the midst of chaos and pain, was still calm and bright because His presence brought peace. Today, we carry that peace within us through the Holy Spirit. “Hope on a Silent Night” lives in our hearts, even when the tree lights flicker and fade. When the festivities quiet down and we are left looking for hope, we know the promise of a bright future still remains.
May the thrill of “Hope on a Silent Night” fill our souls, even as the Christmas season asks us to wait and believe. Beyond what our eyes can see and what our minds can understand, we trust that God has a plan to bring about good and an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).
Christmas is a time for surprises, for moments that stir our hearts. One woman, preparing holiday cookies late into the night, was greeted by a knock at her door. There stood a man, poorly clothed, seeking work during the season. He offered to hang Christmas lights, saying, “I make homes brighter and lift the Christmas spirit with every light.” With a smile, the woman invited him to help, and the lights that had been stored away after her husband’s passing were once again put to use.
Two days later, people came from near and far to see the vibrant display of lights. As they gathered, they sang “Silent Night” under the stars, and the simple act of kindness brought joy and hope to all who witnessed it.
When hope is lost, it robs us of our peace, strength, and happiness. But in those moments, we can choose to paint a new mural of hope—one rooted in faith. Just as the woman, her neighbors, and strangers alike found joy in the light and song of that Silent Night, we too can go home rejoicing, carrying the message of “Hope on a Silent Night” in our hearts.
May we all be reminded that even in the quietest, most uncertain moments, God’s hope is always shining through, ready to guide us toward brighter days.
Family bonding is one of the most cherished aspects of a healthy family life. It’s the moments that help us feel loved, build trust, and express ourselves in a space that’s joyful, safe, and full of memories.
Last year, my family and I embarked on an unforgettable Christmas Cruise aboard the Carnival, setting sail from our hometown of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. We spent an entire week cruising the Atlantic toward the sunny Bahamas, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. The ship offered every imaginable amenity, from exciting onboard activities to spectacular stage shows, games, shopping, island entertainment, and world-class dining.
We wholeheartedly recommend this incredible adventure to other families. There’s something for everyone – whether you’re lounging by the pool, catching a performance, or simply enjoying
the beautiful ocean views. One unforgettable moment for my wife and me was when we won first place at the couple’s gathering in the Carnival’s Amphitheatre. We answered a few romantic questions and walked away with a trophy that I’ll cherish forever.
A small tip: pack light! You really don’t need to bring too many shoes or outfits. Just be sure to bring one special outfit for the Captain’s dinner and for those perfect onboard photos. Like the ones we took, which truly capture the fun and joy of the experience.
P.S. A special highlight of our holiday cruise was the Christmas Musical, led by the ship’s Program Director. The performance brought together kids and adults in a magical setting filled with festive holiday decorations – and the grand entrance of Santa himself was the perfect touch. It was a memory we’ll treasure forever.
The Importance of Sleep for Health and Well-Being - Part 1
Hello friends! I wanted to talk to you about sleep this month. Sleep is underrated and essential to overall health and well-being. So, let’s start by asking, how much sleep do we need as adults? The Mayo Clinic recommends 7-9 hours of sleep for adults, however, it does vary from person to person.
Sleep affects so many different areas of your life, including but not limited to:
1. Brain Function
Sleep helps your brain form and maintain pathways for learning and memory. It also helps remove toxins that build up while you’re awake. With not enough sleep, it makes it harder to concentrate and slows down your reflexes. This alone makes it harder to take in new information or react to dangerous situations.
2. Physical Health
Sleep helps your body release growth hormone, which is important for physical growth and development. Many hormones are released during sleep that help repair cells and control your body’s energy usage. Not only does your blood pressure relax during sleep causing your heart to not work so hard, but your breathing and heart rate are in a relaxed state as well. Lack of sleep can increase your blood pressure, create kidney disease by making it difficult to respond to metabolic changes, and can even affect how your body metabolizes medications and nutrients. According to the National Kidney Foundation, “Kidney function is regulated by the sleep-wake cycle. It helps coordinate the kidneys’ workload over 24 hours,” Dr. McMullan said. “We also know that nocturnal patterns can affect chronic kidney disease and that people who sleep less usually have faster kidney function decline.”
3. Mood
Sleep can help reduce stress and improve your mood. Both rapid eye movement (REM) and non-REM (NREM) sleep help modulate emotional and motivational drives. These two sleep phases allow for greater emotional capacity and adaptability during wakefulness. Healthy sleep repairs functional brain activity and adaptive processing. During REM sleep (which occurs in the later part of your sleep cycle), you usually dream, while in NREM sleep, which occurs first, your body enters a deep sleep and your brain processes emotions. When you cut sleep short, you tend to have more negative emotional reactions and fewer positive ones. In deeper stages of NREM sleep, your breathing slows down, and your blood pressure drops. After you fall asleep, non-REM sleep comes first, followed by a shorter period of REM sleep, and the cycle starts over again.
4. Decision Making
Sleep helps you think more clearly and make better decisions. Researchers in the Department of Translational Medicine and Physiology have discovered a compelling link between insufficient sleep and a diminished ability to make new decisions in response to changing circumstances.
5. Weight
Sleep deprivation can increase your appetite and lead to weight gain. Why might you ask? It changes your hormone levels, causing you to feel hungrier and crave unhealthy foods. If you lack sleep, your body
produces less of the hormone leptin (which makes you feel full) while creating more of the hormone ghrelin, making you hungrier. Sleep deprivation also makes you feel more tired, reducing your desire to exercise. Additionally, lack of sleep is known to slow your metabolism.
6. Chronic Health
Sleep deficiency can increase your risk of chronic health problems like diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Lack of sleep can make your body more resistant to insulin over time. Insulin regulates blood sugar levels by moving glucose from the bloodstream into cells for energy. If this occurs, your body is likely to store excess sugars as fat.
Stay tuned for Part 2 in next month’s issue of Grace and Glory.
What a year! We have lived through a time of political change, racial prejudice, community violence and personal losses. There has been so much coming at us that sometimes we did not know one day from another. This tension and testing have drained many of us and have caused some to become anxious, depressed and feeling hopeless. The current events may be troubling, but we have not fully succumbed to the mood of the moment. Somehow even amid controversy, conflict and confusion we have found a reason to rejoice. We are not rejoicing because of what we are going through. We are rejoicing despite what we are going through.
There are reasons to celebrate no matter what is happening around us. Philippians 4:4 encourages us to, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (NIV). This does not mean we ignore our feelings or
suppress our hurts. It means that joy can be found near us because it is within us. We can shift our mindset when we intentionally seek to find “there is a bright side somewhere” as the old hymn reminds us. The bright side may not be found in the moment of our distress, but it is discovered when our prayer for peace is answered. The bright side can be when a family member we were estranged from gives us a call. The bright side can be in the conversation with a friend or the encouragement from a coworker. The bright side is closer than we realize and that is a reason to rejoice.
We have a reason to rejoice because our hope is not in people, positions, politics, or promises. Our hope is in Jesus, Immanuel, God with us! Our hope is in remaining connected to the vine as John 15:7 reminds us, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for
you.” (NIV). Our hope is not this present world but in our eternal home. Our hope is in loving, forgiving and blessing those who despitefully use us. This does not mean we continue to let them abuse us, but we pray and keep it moving.
Our ability to rejoice again in times like these is supernatural and amazing. The joy of the Lord is our strength and that enables us to rejoice. God can shift and transform our minds, hearts and souls as we feast on God’s word, fellowship with other believers and follow those who follow Christ. You and I can rejoice again because we have hope in the one who brings us joy and in the words of the angels, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14 (NIV). Rejoice again because peace and favor are promised to those that believe.

Spirit of Fear TURNER
At my place of employment I met a little girl who is about 8 years old. This little girl with a bunch of energy, joy and laughter has an inversion to wind. Yes! You read this correctly, she fears the wind.
One day she and I had a conversation about what caused the fear. She said that she was watching a movie and in the movie the little girl was swept away by the wind. Ever since that time she became afraid of the wind. The discussion went on. I asked her if she remembered where the movie took place in what city? She said that she didn’t remember, but she remembered that the wind took her and the girl’s dog away. She stated that she tries but she can’t seem to shake it. She went on saying how stupid it was. How she planned to never get married and she was okay with living in a house with a couple of cats. I shared with her how her fear wasn’t stupid everybody has fear, it’s a God given emotion, but when we allow fear to control us is when it becomes a problem.
As we talked I told her something that I was afraid of- which is public speaking. I realized in my life that I had to be brave and
everyone will have to be brave at some point in their lives. I said she shouldn’t allow fear to control her. I asked her if she watched the entire movie? She said yes, we talked more about the movie. I asked if she remembered the little girl having any friends that helped her, she said yes, it was a scarecrow, a tin man, and a lion. I was like yes she did and she asked me if I had ever seen that movie? I told her yes. She asked me what my favorite part was and I said, the little girl coming home and the people that were placed along her path to help her. It’s easy to do brave things if you have someone along the way to lend a helping hand. I knew that she was a believer when I talked to her grandmother and asked her mother if I could talk to her about her fear. I told her that I’m her friend to lend a helping hand, her teacher, the principal, her mom and dad, we are all here to lend a helping hand. The little girl does go outside from time to time and it’s becoming easier for her.
I shared this story with you, the reader, that it’s okay to do hard things in life. Not to allow fear to debilitate you or stop you from accomplishing difficult tasks. Jesus is our helper and His word tells us to have no fear for God is with us. That line was all I needed to hear to encourage me to step out of the emotion of fear. The enemy knows the ability we as believers have. If we continue to live in fear there is a lot that we wouldn’t be able to accomplish. If you find yourself living in fear please stop, don’t let the enemy receive any more glory. Show him who you are. You’re a child of God and don’t be afraid because He is with you and willing to protect you. Release yourself from fear and Carpe diem, seize the day.
This year I’m turning 50. After my sister’s death I became Thankful, not for her death. But thankful that she didn’t allow the fear of her sickness to stop her from living. There comes a point in your life where as a believer you will have to take a stand and say enough is enough and live out of fear . . . fear of what you’ll miss out on if you allow yourself to live in fear.

May The Lord Comfort You
10 Scriptures to Help Those Who are Grieving This Holiday Season
Is your heart heavy this holiday season due to pain, sickness, or death of your loved one? Is it draining for you to be around others, or go to family gatherings because the empty chair is too hard to bear? For some of us, the holidays are one of the most difficult times of the year. Many of us have not only faced isolation and hardship, but also experiencing grief. I know the retail stores are filled with Christmas music, glitter, and bows, but for some of us it feels like ground zero. It takes everything in us to shop for gifts, take holiday photos, and buy “season’s greetings” cards. The holidays are just not the same anymore. We learn to condition ourselves back to normalcy but that doesn’t mean everything feels good on the inside. For many of us, we truly miss the smile, the voice, and the presence of our loved ones. As a Christian believer, how do we find joy in the reality of our pain?
What do you do when you don’t feel very Merry, and the cliché of Happy New Year makes your stomach uneasy? How do you handle the stress of grief and all the emotions that come along with it? I know my message to you this month should have more of a jolly feel, but my spirit tells me many are hurting and are feeling the weight of discouragement and despair. As a Christian believer, no matter how heavy your heart might be during this season, do not lose HOPE!
The bible says in Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” It is my sincere prayer that you receive the Lord’s comfort in this season. To receive His comfort means that you are willing to be vulnerable when you are at your lowest. It also means you are willing to trust His way of comfort, rather than your own. I am writing this message not only to you, but also to myself. May we not lose hope that even as God is calling many of our loved one’s home, we can thank God for those of us who are still here on earth, that His comfort towards us is sufficient. I want to share ten scriptures with you to meditate on when the nights feel long, and the tears keep coming. I pray these scriptures will be a source of hope and strength even in your weakness.
• “Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” Proverbs 23:18
• “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” Romans 15:4
• “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
• “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” Romans 14:8
• “And whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:26
• “A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.” Ecclesiastes 3:4
• “To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn.”
Isaiah 61:2
• “Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.”
Jeremiah 31:13
• “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
• “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Remember even in this holiday season that the joy of the Lord is your strength. Your situation, circumstance and even grief does not feel joyful, but the joy of the Lord is your strength. The joy of His faithfulness, sovereignty, love, grace, and mercy is your strength today and forever. May that joy comfort you, prosper you, bless you and sustain you. May you have a joyful Christmas and Blessed New Year in Christ Jesus, Our Lord and Savior!

DAILY DEVOTIONS
(Excerpts
from NEW DAY FRESH START- by Brandie Manigault)
DAY 1
Be encouraged. You are moments away from the greatest season of your life to date. Yes, things are looking dark and bleak. Yes, people are talking about you to your face and behind your back trying to discredit you. Yes, you are tired, and it feels like life is being sucked out of you. BUT do not give up. You are closer than you think to the greatest breakthrough and revealing that you have ever seen. The fulfilment of God’s promise to you concerning your future is about to become alive and active. God’s promise to your family for them is about to be made known through you. Your new season is going to shift things in your life to such a degree that it will automatically shift the season of those who are associated with you. They will experience the benefits of your faithfulness to your process, your endurance to keep going when things were hard, your determination to go through whatever it takes, and your silence when you had every right to defend yourself. What you have done will affect everyone. Challenge: Today challenge yourself to finish this season strong. Remain faithful until the very end so that you can enjoy the newness of the next season with no regrets.
Matthew 27:35, 50-53, “Then they crucified Him... And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.”
DAY 2
People will continue to expect dead things to stay dead and broke things to stay broke when they have no examples of hope to look at. Sometimes in order for others to believe in the “impossible” they have to know that the reality of an alternative exists. People will remain in a defeated state if they don’t hear of the success stories. We have to tell them about our experiences. They may not believe that their hard times will ever end until we share with them about the times when we had to borrow money from family just to make ends meet. They may not believe that their children will ever “learn their lesson” until we share our child’s story of going from expulsion to honor roll. They may not believe that they will ever be able to kick an addiction until we share how we overcame something that we never thought we could give up. People need us to embrace our past, share our story and help them. People need us to give them hope.
Challenge: Today challenge yourself to not shy away from sharing your story when the appropriate time presents itself. Give someone hope. Matthew 28:5-7 NIV, “The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you.”
DAY 3
Do you know the power of your “YES”? One “YES” in obedience to the Lord will set off a chain of events that years of labor could not produce. The possibilities and the power of your “YES” are limitless. It puts things into motion. Your act of obedience today in taking a job offer you may feel overqualified for can lead to your promotion in the company and eventually you taking over. Your yes to sow a seed into someone’s life could keep them from foreclosing on their home and ending up homeless,
they remember you when they get on their feet, and leave you an inheritance later in life. There are potential outcomes to you saying “YES” to the Lord that you cannot imagine.
Challenge: Today challenge yourself to set off a chain reaction for your future; tell the lord YES.
Matthew 4:18-20, “As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.”
DAY 4
Do you know that atmospheres change when you enter a room without you having to do anything or even say one word? When you go to work, school, or the grocery store, the harness that exists in those places must move when you arrive. Christ in you shines through you instantly turning dark places bright. You carry an unchallengeable light within you. You are supposed to make places better just by your presence alone. When the light of Christ shines through you it will illuminate and highlight things that have been hidden in the darkness and make vibrant colors that have been dimmed stand out even more.
Challenge: Today challenge yourself to challenge the darkness. Don’t hold back. Be an example of Christ, and shine bright!
Matthew 5:14-16 (MSG), “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”
DAY 5
We are called to make an impact in this world. We are not supposed to blend in and become part of the norm, but we are supposed to do and be the exact opposite; different. Our job is to be an asset in our families, at our schools, and at our jobs. These places should be bland without us around, lacking flavor and direction. It’s our job to be us so boldly that when we are not around these areas feel our absence. It’s important that we remember that we do not live these bold lives for our own benefit. The void they must feel when we are not around is the presence of God. Everything we say and everything that we do must point to Him. When they look at us they must be able to see Christ in us.
Challenge: Today challenge yourself to be the difference that your job, school, or home needs. Give them Jesus with your presence. Matthew 5:13-16, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The Seed of the Righteous Shall be Delivered - PT 1
Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. Prov.11:21 (KJV)
Know for sure that the sinful man will not go without being punished, but the children of those who are right with God will be saved. Prov.11:21 (NLV)
Sisters and Brothers, we’re living in a day where the wicked ones seemed to be fairing so much better than the righteous. It appears there is no justice for the poor, no consequences for the wicked, as a matter of fact, it seems as if the wicked keep prospering in their evil ways while the righteous continues to be oppressed on every hand. It was the Prophet Jeremiah who asked the Lord in the book of Jeremiah Chapter 20, as to why He was permitting his persecutors to live at ease without facing any justice for their evil ways.
If the truth be told, we’ve asked the same question, time and time again, “Lord, why are you letting this man or woman get away with all the evil they’re doing?” Job 20:5 tells us, “The triumph of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment.” We don’t know all the answers to the questions why God permits the wicked to prosper but, in His Word, God said, “The wicked will not go without being punished.”
God has given every Believer specific instruction concerning our attitude towards the success of the wicked and the hardship of the righteous. Psalm 37:1-2 says, “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut sown like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished. They may run, but they can’t hide. Sin does its own best detective work. It will expose everything you’ve done.
Numbers 32:23 says, “Be sure your sin will find you out.” God will eventually reveal your sin and hold you accountable, if not in this life certainly on the day of judgments. Remember, Achan had stolen items hidden in his tent. He thought he had it all covered up. Israel began to lose the battle, and the Lord said, you have sin in the camp. Remember King David’s sin with Bathsheba, he tried to cover it up and had her husband killed on the front line and married her. God sent the prophet Nathan to expose David’s cover up. Nathan told him a story. David was filled with anger and said the man must die. Nathan said, “You are the man!” Remember the Babylonians wanted to make a name for themselves without God and began building a wall. God stepped in when He saw them working as one and He confused their language, making it impossible to communicate. The wicked will have their day of judgment. Psalm 37:12-13 says, “The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his
teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.” God sees everything the unjust – the wicked – what the evil person is doing to you.
The enemy does not care whom he uses to persecute you. Many times, the devil will get into our spouses, our children, our family members, our church family and our co-workers. What do you do when all hell breaks loose against you? Keep on praying. Keep on believing God. Keep the faith. Why is this important? The prayers you send up today will be the prayers that cover your seed. The reason you and I are still here today is because somebody prayed for us, somebody had us on their mind. Somebody prayed and told the devil, “You can’t touch my children; you can’t touch my seed.” It may look like there is no use. It may look like your seed is too far gone; they’re too messed up; they’re too evil to be delivered. God knows it’s painful to see your loved ones, your seed living in sin; doing all manner of evil but, you know and understand the power of prayer. Prayer is a powerful tool God gave His people to combat the enemy.
How do you overcome the pain? By fasting and praying. The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous, availeth much. Something is happening even when it does not look like it. Our faith must be above “SEE” level. Sisters and Brothers, our faith must go beyond what is visible or audible. Our faith in God must be progressive, ever growing and maturing. Our faith will never rise above the level of our confession. We can’t speak faith today and doubt tomorrow. The stronger your confession, the stronger your faith will become. Prov.18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Speak life over your seed, your children and your grandchildren, in the name of Jesus. Don’t talk about the facts. Declare the Promise of God. The devil wants us to talk and conversate about what we’re hearing and seeing. But God, wants us to declare what He is saying in His Word. God satisfies my mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Somebody shout: My seed shall be delivered!

Medication Safety: Protecting Your Health Through Proper Use
Medication safety is a crucial aspect of healthcare that often gets overlooked. Taking the right medication in the right way at the right time can be the difference between healing and harm. As the use of prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications increases worldwide, so do the risks associated with improper use, interactions, and side effects. Understanding medication safety is essential to ensuring positive health outcomes and minimizing the risks involved.
Why Medication Safety Matters
Medications play a key role in managing a wide range of health conditions, from chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension to acute illnesses like infections. However, when used incorrectly, medications can cause serious harm, including adverse drug reactions, overdoses, and even death. The risks associated with medication can be further compounded by factors such as aging, polypharmacy (the use of multiple medications), and lack of proper education about how to take medications safely.
Common Medication Safety Issues
1. **Medication Errors**
A medication error occurs when the wrong drug is prescribed, dispensed, or taken. It could be the result of poor communication, incorrect dosage, or misunderstanding how to take the medication.
2. **Drug Interactions**
Many people take multiple medications at once. This can increase the likelihood of drug-drug interactions, where one medication affects how another works. Interactions can reduce the effectiveness of drugs, cause unwanted side effects, or even lead to dangerous conditions. It’s vital to inform healthcare providers about all medications, including over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and herbal products.
3. **Incorrect Dosage**
Taking the wrong dose, whether too much or too little, can have harmful consequences. An overdose can cause toxicity and life-threatening conditions while underdosing might result in the medication being ineffective. Patients may skip doses or stop taking their medication too soon because they feel better. Inconsistent medication use is one of the leading causes of chronic illness progression and hospitalization.
4. **Storage and Handling**
Some medications require refrigeration or protection from light. Improper storage can cause the medication to be less effective.
To support medication safety always take your medication exactly as prescribed. Don’t change the dose or frequency without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better. Keep a list of all your medications and share the list with all of your healthcare providers. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about your medications. Beware of herbal interactions. Take precautions when administering medicines to the young, elderly, lactating, or pregnant women.
Medication safety is a shared responsibility between healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers. By following safety guidelines, asking questions, and maintaining clear communication with your medical team, you can significantly reduce medication risks. Remember that medications are a powerful tool for managing health, but their benefits come with the responsibility of using them correctly.

Keep It
“Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one you lost until you found it? When found, you can be sure you’d put it across your shoulders, rejoicing...” (Luke 15:4-7)
One of the things that all churches, whether it was a mega church with thousands of people or a small ministry with only a handful of members, experienced after the pandemic was a loss in the number of attendees. Some people had legitimate reasons for not returning such as illness. Others had become so comfortable in worshipping from home that they preferred it over in person. No matter the reason or excuse, we all found our churches much less full than they were pre-pandemic.
Well, Overcomers In Christ had the same experience as everyone else. Some people simply did not return. We diligently sought the Lord for guidance on how to get the people out of their houses and back into God’s house. There was one in particular that God placed on my heart that I was to go after. So, I reached out on several occasions and each time, I was so warmly received that I was left feeling hopeful about seeing them once again in the house. However, after three or four disappointments, I made the decision to leave them alone. Notice that I said, “I made the decision...” I did not say, “God led me...”
A few days after I had purposed in my heart not to chase after people, I received a call from our Overseer. After I shared that particular incident with her, she was quiet for a moment, then she said, “Pat, I think you should go after her. Don’t give up on her. Give her another chance.” With humility and gratitude, I said, “Yes ma’am.” And I did just what my Holy Woman of God instructed me to do!
I acknowledged my error and arrogance, asked God for forgiveness, and then willingly obeyed my Overseer. You see, in her wise words, I heard the message that Jesus taught in Luke 15 about the one hundred sheep. Ninety-nine of them stayed with the shepherd. They never left the arc of safety. However, one did. It was lost and Jesus, the Good Shepherd, the Chief Shepherd, and the Great Shepherd, was determined to keep it one hundred. He was not willing to lose even one of His sheep. He was so determined that He left the ninety-nine to seek, find, and recover the one that had gotten off-track, out of place, and just plain lost. In other words, Jesus was going to keep it !
Today, that one I went after has not only returned to the house of God but, each week you can find her truly present as she is in place and functioning, doing her part as a true partner of OIC. With divine guidance, and godly advice, we will always strive to keep it .
Father God, we thank You today for Your love for us. We thank You for sending Your only begotten Son to reunite us with You when we were separated from You. Just as You were not willing to lose any of us, we are determined to not lose any that You have assigned to us. We thank You for the love, boldness, strength, and wisdom to go after and recover the lost, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen and amen.

Tip 1
Christmas is not a surprise or an emergency. It literally comes at the same time every single year. Be prepared! Not only for Christmas, but also birthdays, anniversaries and any other occasion you may celebrate with gifts or trips or anything that will cost money. Start saving now and don’t get yourself in a hole by letting these things “sneak up” on you. You’ll sleep so much better knowing you won’t be hit with a bunch of bills in January!
Tip 2
By now, we’ve hopefully all learned that having a successful or fulfilling life is about more than money. It’s about building something, leaving something behind greater than yourself, and contentment. Can you think of something free or inexpensive your family did while you were growing up that stuck with you? Our family had (and still has) a tradition of the kids receiving small gifts every day leading up to Christmas beginning on Dec 13th. We call it our “12 Days of Christmas” gifts. It has absolutely nothing to do with the song. We got miscellaneous small items like a little toy, chapstick, or a favorite candy bar. Of course as small children, we just loved getting to open any extra presents. As we got older, my parents started incorporating items we needlike toiletries, a pair of fun socks, or other necessities you don’t want to spend your own money on. This is something small my parents did that didn’t break the bank, but meant a lot. What traditions did you have that left an impression? Will you pass them down to your kids as well?
Tip 3
May your heart be lifted in praise this Christmas for the wonderful gift of Jesus and the joy He brings to our lives. We truly have so much to be thankful for. Have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
