It’s Our Anniversary!

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

The month of September is the ninth month of the year, and it often symbolizes the end of one thing and the start of another: like the end of summer and the start of fall, and the end of summer break for students and the start of a new school year. The number nine is said to represent completion, like the fulfillment of one cycle so that you can prepare to initiate the next one. For Grace & Glory Magazine, September symbolizes the completion of its 17th year and the start of its 18th year in publication. We are celebrating our 18th Anniversary! I am in total awe of what God has done for Grace & Glory magazine and what He will do to fulfill His purpose.

The Grace & Glory Magazine made its debut September 2006, and since then many doors have opened for the magazine consistently moving Grace & Glory Magazine to its ultimate goal, which is to be a resource and vehicle for the upward building of the Kingdom of God. We have featured many of God’s finestpastors, ministries, entrepreneurs, authors, artists, and businesses, and we have established many valuable relationships with our faith-based community and readers. Through the years God

has done, “Exceeding abundantly above all that I could ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:20).

We will continue to walk through this door God opened 18 years ago. As we enter this next year, we thank and praise God for what He has already done, and we are excited for what God has in store for Grace & Glory Magazine. By no means has this been an easy journey! There have been many times I have wanted to quit and throw in the towel, and I thank God for those who pray for us to remain steadfast. There have been setbacks and stumbling blocks, but we believe when God opens a door, no man can shut it.

This month’s issue is dedicated to all the contributors that God led our way; there are many who have been with us from the start that have been so faithful pouring out into their articles what God has put into their hearts. This issue is also dedicated to our many ministry partners, supporters and advertisers, who have trusted us through the years. I would also like to thank those who work diligently to get this magazine out each month. Finally, we dedicate this issue to you, our readers and followers, who have been our faithful friends.

Jackie

EPPS

We have been determined to always inspire, encourage, and empower our readers with each issue. It is our prayer that through the years we have done that; and it is also our prayer that we continue to be a resource for our readers as a ministry tool for purpose. Grace & Glory Magazine will always use its platform to shine a light as long as God continues to lead and guides us forward. There is no doubt in my mind that God wants us to continue to believe, keep the faith, stay focused and let Him finish what He has started.

Peace and Blessings. . .

Q&A Interview - Apostle Nina E. Brown-Hill

G&G: Apostle Hill, welcome to the Grace & Glory Magazine family! We are excited for this opportunity to feature you for our September Anniversary issue. You are a jewel to the Kingdom of God. Let’s start here, how did your journey into ministry begin? Did you always know this was your purpose or did you have other plans for your life?

Apostle Hill: Thank you so much for allowing me to share and be a part of the Grace and Glory family. I am humbled and grateful to God for this opportunity. Ministry began when I was 12 years old. My parents became foster parents, and my Kingdom assignment became evident. I am the biological youngest and many questioned me as to whether I would be jealous of the children that were now a part of the family and living in our home. Of course, my answer was, “I have nothing to be jealous about, I know my place and it is secure.” I also knew that my parents had a heart full of love and compassion and were offering what was necessary to help those who needed them, their love, prayers, guidance, and support. It was at that moment that I became the big sister and mentor to children who were physically, mentally, and sexually abused, those who were abandoned, starved and suffering from malnutrition. God revealed to me that the children were indeed a vital part of my Kingdom assignment.

Although I was young at the time, it was always said that I was beyond my years in wisdom, knowledge and understanding. God started using me then, to share with them what I knew about the Lord, learned in church and Sunday School, to be an example, a source of love and strength for those who did not have the opportunity to experience a loving home and family. We were blessed with a strong faith and sure foundation; therefore, as we ministered to them and took them to worship, it was what the children could see and build their lives upon as they embraced their new start and healing. As a result of our example and by the grace of God, we were allowed to see them grow and be successful in various areas. I was blessed to see ministry in action at home and it was the vehicle that propelled me into service in the Kingdom of God. As a result, 67 children were raised over a period of 18 years and 3 were adopted. Look at God!!!

I loved doing as ministry and to advance His Kingdom. Even before I officially accepted my call to the Gospel Ministry, I would go out and speak at numerous services. This November, I will be celebrating 31 years since I preached my initial sermon. To God Be the Glory!

G&G: Apostle Hill, looking back, are you at all surprised at where you are today, when did you realize God had called you to an assignment of such magnitude?

Apostle Hill: I would not say that I am totally surprised but I am truly humbled and honored at what God has done and continues to do in my life and the ministry that He has given me. His Word assures me that my gifts would make room for me and bring me before great men. After having served in the Gospel Ministry and various aspects of Ministry for many years including leading and mentoring women, God summoned me higher. He declared unto me that He would use me as His vessel to bring His daughters and sons together to make an impact for His Kingdom. In 2003 in obedience to His will, I stepped out with a vision, a promise, and an abundance of faith. Thus, the Daughters of Promise was birthed. As the vision continued and as God gave increase, in 2011, we were blessed with the Youth and Young Adult Chapter. The Lord has used us as instruments to bridge the gap, to mentor and instruct our young people in the way of excellence and godliness. Being the integrated Ministry that we have been called to be, and as I remained in the birthing position, God called us to the next dimension of the vision. In 2013, the Sons of Promise was birthed and as such, we became the Daughters and Sons of Promise. Because of the promise keeper that He is, God has tremendously given provision for the vision. What a Mighty God we serve!!!

G&G: Apostle Hill, you are the founder of Daughters and Sons Of Promise International Ministries, would you share with us the vision and the mission of this ministry?

I was baptized at the age of 8 years old and as I grew, I stayed continually active in various ministries and aspects of community service. I always knew that God was doing something great in my life and had something special for me to do and I was drawn to serving in the Kingdom and had a great love for mission and outreach. I always had plans of traveling and helping people who were less fortunate and in need of love and care. I had a plan, but God has the Master Plan. I am in awe at how He used what

Apostle Hill: The Daughters and Sons of Promise has been birthed as the catalyst to bring women and men together from various age groups, denominations and geographical locations. It is ordained by God to embrace, empower, and equip us to walk in our destinies and to fulfill our God-given purpose for the enhancement of the Kingdom of God. Our mission is aimed at making a positive impact on lives, to implement growth, and to reach others with the message of God’s love, peace, joy, and hope. We have witnessed the transformation of lives, deliverance,

salvation, and the manifestation of healing physically, mentally and spiritually. We continue to trust God to use us to make the continued vision a reality.

G&G: Apostle Hill, Daughters and Sons Of Promise International Ministries is a global ministry, with chapters in multiple locations, we understand you travel internationally for outreach. Tell us about your passion for evangelism?

Apostle Hill: My passion for evangelism started at an early age. I was always going places with my mother and was able to experience evangelism firsthand. My mother was a true witness for Christ. She always said that when the Lord saved her that she promised to share Him with others and everywhere she went. I am happy to say that she did just that. I watched her talk with and minister to people from all levels of society, with all kinds of issues yet, leave changed and knowing the Lord for themselves. As a result, this fueled my passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. I began visiting the sick, shut in, elderly and those who needed help in the home, a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear and a compassionate heart. God has and continues to use me mightily in Ministry to be a healing force to a hurting world. I am active in Preaching and Teaching Ministries at Transitional Houses, the Correctional Institutes, and various Nursing Home facilities with a Word of hope to those who are shut in but not shut out. I have been blessed to help train others to evangelize and to make disciples of all nations.

I am excited about presenting the good news of Jesus Christ and trusting God to convert people. Yes, because of my obedience, God has allowed me to travel extensively internationally preaching and teaching the Word of God. However, my Ministry of evangelism started locally. I find such joy and purpose in passing out tracks, doing street ministry, feeding the hungry and homeless and implementing the Great Commission. I take seriously my commission to take the love and message of Jesus Christ to the ends of the world. To preach the

Gospel to all nations and people and to witness miracles, signs and wonders. I know that God has chosen, anointed, and appointed me to the Kingdom for such a time as this. As a woman on a mission, God has used my ministry to lead many souls to Christ. I answered the call and said, “here am I, send me, I’ll go. As such, I have continued to stay on the wall as a fruitful and impactful servant in the Kingdom of God. I endeavor to remain humble, and a willing vessel fit for the Master’s use. My answer is still yes as I remain in the birthing position. I am convinced that, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the thing which God hath prepared for them that love him.” I Corinthians 2:9.

G&G: Apostle Hill, would you expound on the difference and significance of your apostolic assignment as it relates to global ministry?

Apostle Hill: The significance of my apostolic assignment is to be a messenger of Jesus Christ, to carry out His authority and preach the Gospel faithfully. As an Apostle, the gift has been given to build. God has sent me forth with a message to have the spiritual authority in Him to build and establish His Kingdom on earth. As I began to pray and seek God concerning the Apostolic calling on my life, He specifically assured me that I have been sent on a global assignment with a message to the masses. However, before going internationally, I was faithful in serving domestically and locally. The Bible tells us that, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8. I am passionate about the assignment and know that God has equipped me for the journey.

G&G: Apostle Hill, would you share with us what you have noticed about the differences/similarities in the hunger for Christ internationally compared to here at home?

Apostle Hill: This is an interesting yet relevant question. I have noticed differences and similarities. In my international travels, I have noticed that the people who have less, those who have nothing, seem willing to give their all. What I mean by this is that when I would be in revivals or doing teaching sessions, people would walk for miles just to be in the service and the presence of the Lord. Sometimes, it meant staying at other people’s houses along the way. I was tremendously moved the first time I heard a family say that they had been traveling for days just to get to where we were. There were those who would make little things just to be able to give something to us. I went there to be a blessing and ended up being blessed. What a contrast to what we often see here at home. This is a reality that is worth mentioning. What this means to me is that too often we become comfortable and take what we have for granted. On one of the occasions, we took a group of young teenagers with us for them to be able to see life from a different perspective. They were so amazed at how the people in the countries we visited and ministered in lived. They were shocked to see people with little or nothing at all yet could sing about God’s amazing grace. On our last day there, we purposely held a session where everyone had a chance to share their experiences and what impacts the mission had on them and their lives. It was an awesome moment to see and hear the young people asking God for forgiveness for how they took things for granted and was ungrateful for what they had. They expressed how they realized that they have so much to be thankful for and wanted to do more to help those in need. This is a lesson for us all in that we should never take for granted what we have in this life. There are so many who would love to have the clothes off our backs and the shoes on our feet. There are those who would love to have a hot meal and a real roof over their heads. We have so much to be thankful for and must never forget that.

life of commitment and service in the Kingdom. This has allowed me to help bring forth divine purposes on earth. As a result, many other Ministries have been birthed out of the Ministry that God has given me and for this I give Him all the glory, honor and praise. I desire to see others walk in their assignment and to manifest their calling.

G&G: Apostle Hill, let’s shift a little and talk about your Empowerment Conference 2024 scheduled in October. What is the purpose and vision for this conference? What would you like someone to walk away with after attending this conference? Apostle Hill: We are excited about our Empowerment Conference 2024 that is being held in Raleigh, North Carolina from October 11, 2024, through October 13, 2024. Our theme for this year is “Arise for Such a Time as This!” We are expecting an awesome move of God as He has promised to meet us and bless us as we gather before Him. The purpose and vision of this conference is a God ordained time that we be refreshed and renewed as we spend uninterrupted time in the presence of the Lord. It is a time of worship, preaching and teaching. God has summoned us for a time of empowerment and transformation as we position ourselves to receive what He has prepared for us. I believe that God will fill us abundantly and bless us beyond all expectations. It is my prayer that we leave the conference having accepted the challenge to destroy every stronghold that seeks to hinder the gift and work of God in us. To leave better, healed, whole and operating in Kingdom authority. This conference has been blessed and a blessing since its beginning in 2003.

G&G: Apostle Hill, what is next for Daughters and Sons of Promise International Ministries, where would you like to see this ministry in the future?

G&G: Apostle Hill, you also mentioned that you have a midwife assignment, how is this gift significant in someone else’s life? Please explain?

Apostle Hill: Yes, God has given me a Midwife assignment. He continues to use me to help push others into what they have been called to do. So many people are sitting on their gifts and callings. Many have untapped potential that is waiting to be manifested. Sometimes, it is because of fear, rejection, low selfesteem and even disobedience. Many are pregnant with purpose and destiny. I have been blessed to allow God to use me as a birthing coach to encourage, mentor and even show by example a

Apostle Hill: God has promised expansion and not just in numbers. He is enlarging our territory and increasing our impact. I see the Ministry continuing to equip and empower for the furtherance of the Gospel.

G&G: Apostle Hill, let’s close with these questions, how would you describe yourself in three words?

Apostle Hill: I would describe myself as a servant, resilient and bold. I always love serving God and His people. I am indeed a servant and never sought after a title or position. I

Continued on page 12

am saved to serve! I am resilient in that I can withstand the test and challenges and am not moved by the persecution and distractions. I am like a palm tree; I may bend but I will not break, and quitting is not an option. I am bold in that I am brave and not afraid to go where no one has gone before. God has not given me the spirit of fear. I am determined that wherever He leads me I will follow Him all the way.

G&G: What is one thing most people would be surprised to know about you?

Apostle Hill: I love to collect seashells from various places. When I travel be it for ministry or vacation, I am always looking for beautiful, differently colored and shaped seashells. I especially love it when I cruise yearly, fly to islands or visit beaches where I can find such an abundance of seashells. I have a beautiful collection and look forward to continuously adding to it.

G&G: Is there anyone who has had a tremendous impact in your life and your ministry journey?

Apostle Hill: I was raised in a family style community where there was always love, care and concern for one another. I have been blessed to have so many who have deposited into my personal life, academically and into the Ministry that God has given me. I have always been a “sponge”, sitting at the feet of those I was led to by the Lord soaking up all the nuggets, words of advice and wisdom that has been imparted to me. Even today, I am still a “sponge”, still allowing God to use others that He has assigned to bless me. However, I would like to name a few whose shoulders I continue to stand on who has made great contributions to help shape who I am today.

I rise to give thanks to God for the best parents I could ever ask for and who has had the greatest impact in my life and my ministry journey. I am blessed to be the youngest of the late Andrew Brown Jr. and Mother Lillian Mae Swindell Brown. I am so grateful for the upbringing and values that they instilled in me. There were times when I thought they were too strict or required too much, however, I soon understood that they saw so much in me and wanted the best for me. They both pushed me to excel in every area of my life and I am better because of it. They made sure that I always had what I needed to be able to do what was required of me. My father transitioned in 1988 prior to me preaching my initial sermon in 1993. However, he and my mother were always talking about how they knew that God was calling me to the Gospel Ministry and had great work for me. I was reared in the ways of the Lord and was not sent to church or Sunday School, I was taken there and led by example. After the transition of my father, my mother remained the most impactful in my life. She was my greatest cheerleader, supporter, confidant, prayer partner and best friend. She was always with me and continued to push me to greater heights in the Lord. Although she transitioned from labor to reward in 2020, her presence is still with me, and I can feel her pushing me to continue to soar!!!

G&G: Apostle Hill, lastly, what are your final thoughts on what you believe the Body of Christ should be saying and doing at this critical time in the world?

I am forever grateful for the love, prayers, mentoring, and support of the late Dr. Carl Washington Sr. who poured into me tirelessly all my life and always wanted the best for me. I am blessed by my other Mother, Dr. Minnie Washington, who currently serves as the Pastor of St. Timothy’s Christian Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been loving, guiding and praying with and for me all my life. I am grateful for how she continues to impart into me.

Apostle Hill: The body of Christ should be praying like never before and leading by example. We must be the light shining amid the darkness of the times in which we live. The world does not need a definition of Christ but rather a demonstration of Christ. They need to see Him in us. They need to see a sermon louder than they hear one. The world is watching us, and we need to not be conforming or compromising but we need to arise and make an impact and difference in the Kingdom. The Bible declares that the harvest is plenteous, but the labourers are few. There is a “labor shortage” and we must recognize that we have work to do.

Check on Your Family and Friends

There are many mysteries in the world but one of the most challenging is to understand suicide and suicidal thoughts. We wonder what could make someone we know and love make such a decision or have such thoughts. What is even more challenging is that we did not know they were feeling so low and having such emotional pain that life had become unbearable. We often say these things to ourselves afterwards – “if only we had known”, “they had so much to live for”, “why didn’t they reach out”. While this is what we have come to think, it is not that simple. Facing our fears and frustrations in understanding suicide has caused us to not talk about it but talking about it can help us save more lives from this often-preventable death.

There are many factors that can cause someone to think suicide is the solution to their problems. Financial problems, struggling relationships with family and friends, feelings of loneliness and believing no one cares if they were gone,

along with bullying and social media harassment. Overcoming these thoughts and experiences can be done with the support of the community and improved skills that help teach emotional regulation and problem solving.

• Providing mental health counseling and support along with crisis intervention strategies to those members who are most vulnerable, supporting our family, friends and community.

• Providing treatment to those with addictions, limiting access to firearms, providing parenting classes to help with problems that may be occurring in the home.

• Strengthening the community with prevention information and support for those whose family may have been caring for a suicidal loved one or lost someone to suicide is important.

The faith community can be a haven for families impacted by this by giving space for dialogue, teaching,

and support when one of the community members is affected. The need for prevention is important because the rate of death has increased since in the recent years. It is okay to ask those we know are struggling with some mental health diagnosis how they are doing and if they are thinking of harming themselves. We must talk more openly and freely about our emotions and the needs for help.

Be a bridge to someone or their family by providing them with resources. When faced with a crisis, whether suicide, addiction or family challenges share the 988-crisis number to those in need. Compile a list of community resources and be a source of support and strength for those in your circle. Check on your family and friends and if you are the one in need, be honest and reach out for help. We are in this together. Together we can face the uncertainties of life. Don’t give up. Encourage one another with love and be genuine, someone’s life may depend on it!

Crossing Over

Anyone who is in my intimate circle knows how important crossing over from one month to the next is for me. My previous Pastor, Dr. Victoria Michaels Jefferson, educated me on the power of God’s great grace. Oh ye of little faith if you only view a new month as “mortgage is due.” In doing so, you have missed the movement of God! He has shifted you out of the old to discover something new.

You now have the opportunity to receive new revelation, insight and direction. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is Ephesians 2:10 which states, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in.”

When the Lord crosses you over into a new month, He has already prepared the good works that you will accomplish and occupy.

Take a moment and think of your destiny helpers that will locate you in this new month. Think of all the abundant wisdom you will obtain this new month, if you ask of the Lord. Think of the all the things that will be added unto you, when you place Christ first!

There are so many wonderful things to consider. If I may go a little deeper, think of the forgiveness you will extend to others and to yourself; and I am just bold enough to believe that whatever

was unfinished in the previous month, think of those things being completed and settled in this new month. I need you to get excited about the goodness of the Lord! I need you to get excited about the gift of breath. In this new month the only thing that is holding you back is YOU!

Stop living carelessly unconscious of the extraordinary things happening within you and for you. If you are reading this, the Lord has crossed you over into a new month and what a disappointment it would be to stay in a posture of complaining and laziness. Let the fullness of God’s glory be your fatten portion this month. Don’t you see that things in your life are changing? Don’t you perceive that things are shifting in your business and/or ministry?

I know some of you might feel you do the same routines, day after day and month after month. However, I am challenging you to discover something new. Discover something new about yourself and Christ. The Lord did not cross you over into a new month to have a downcast spirit, but rather to discover the beauty of who He is and the steps He has ordered for you to take. Cross over in this new month with an “undignified praise!” You will discover something GREAT!

Live life on the promise of IMPACT!

DAILY DEVOTIONS

(Excerpts from NEW DAY FRESH START- by Brandie Manigault)

DAY 1

The mark of a GREAT leader is not found in big words, outward appearance, or financial backing, but it is found in our ability to serve those that you lead. What separates a GREAT leader from an ordinary leader is in our willingness to humble ourselves enough to make those who follow us more important than ourselves. People will only be impressed by our big words and leadership “attitude” for a short period of time. What will make them loyal, faithful, and dedicated is how we view them in our heart and treat them with our corresponding actions.

Challenge: Today challenge yourself to lead with humility. Prefer the “follower” over yourself and watch the difference it will make.

Matthew 20:28, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

DAY 2

When you know who you are and are aware of your worth then you will not allow your current situation to cause you to feel ashamed. Things may not look the way you picture them in your future. You may be living paycheck to paycheck when you know God has called you to be a financier of the Kingdom.

Your family may not be serving God when you know He has called your whole house to be saved, but when you know that these are temporal things that can turn in a moment’s time, thus revealing the greatness that you have always known was there, then you can walk through this season with dignity and pride. Having the knowledge that at any given moment everything can shift for you will empower you to remain hopeful when things look different than you think they should.

Challenge: Today challenge yourself to hold your head up high and see yourself in the light of your promise.

Matthew 21:5, Zechariah 9:9, “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey!”

DAY 3

What have you allowed to come in and invade your space altering God’s original plan for you. Your home was designed to be a place of peace and rest, but somehow has turned into a place of chaos and confusion. Your job was intended to be a place for you to use your gifts to generate income and has become a place of competition and gossiping. School was supposed to be for learning and is now a party zone. The original design is what creates an environment for you to prosper. It lays the foundation for everything to build on.

Challenge: Today challenge yourself to rediscover the original

plan and then do what is necessary to take your space back. Matthew 21:12-14 (MSG), “Jesus went straight to the Temple and threw out everyone who had set up shop, buying and selling. He kicked over the tables of loan sharks and the stalls of dove merchants. He quoted this text: My house was designated a house of prayer; You have made it a hangout for thieves. Now there was room for the blind and crippled to get in. They came to Jesus and he healed them.”

DAY 4

Love... the governing force behind all we do, the backbone of all decisions, the foundation on which all things are built. Love will not only teach us how to treat others, but it will teach us how to treat ourselves. Love will open the door for right decision making. When we allow love to be the deciding factor on whether or not we do or say something then we are guaranteed a victory. Love will always win if it is used. It is the ultimate trump card. It wins in every situation regardless of what else is going on around it. Love has the ability to change everything every time.

Challenge: Today challenge yourself to let love be the deciding vote. Then watch as the outcomes become favorable each time.

Matthew. 22:37-40, “Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

DAY 5

There is a saying, “Do as I say, not as I do”. How often do we say one thing and do something completely different? We allow our circumstances to make us appear untrustworthy. We all drop the ball occasionally, whether it is on purpose or unintentional. The question is not, “will we have to go back on our word” because things happen; the question is how often do we do it? Do we exhibit inconsistent behavior more often than not, or are we the ones that others know they can trust? Dependability is a desirable character trait that we should strive for daily.

Challenge: Today challenge yourself to let your words and your actions match. Be a good example.

Matthew 23:2-3, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.”

The Valley TURNER

The summers here are typically hard financially for the churches in this area. Subsequently it affects my finances as well. During this season is when my faith is stretched. I have to remind myself that God wouldn’t have brought us here to the desert (valley) without knowing of the challenges that were up ahead. I was praying this morning, and I looked up the word valley and it means: a noun- 1.a low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it. “The Thames Valley” Hebrew definition a broad plane. I happen to live in a valley and am experiencing valley issues.

The valley is a low place meaning that it’s out of reach. There are times in our lives where we feel out of reach, in the midst of the water, but yet still not feeling the refreshing that the water provides. You can’t allow the valley season to depress you. The Bible has given us a blueprint of how we should conduct ourselves. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, (a place of deep darkness) I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4 ESV

You see right there because God is with us, we shouldn’t fear the valley or the shadows. Our Father has us covered. Even though the valley is a dry place, know that reprieve is coming. While you’re walking through this season of the valley here are points to hold on to.

• Fear no evil

• God is with You

• Keep your eyes to the hills

• Don’t get discouraged

• Don’t get distracted

• It’s only for a season

Know that God knew beforehand that you would be here that’s why He left His word to guide us and encourage us to keep going. This too shall pass!

Evaluating Online Sources of Medical Information

The Internet is a powerful tool for accessing information. In our digital age, Google has become the go-to source for knowledge, replacing traditional encyclopedias. Online platforms, including websites and social media, provide instant access to a wealth of information. Our handheld devices and laptops enable us to find information within seconds. But how can we be sure that the medical information we find online is accurate and reliable? Let’s explore the criteria for evaluating online medical information, empowering you to make informed decisions about your health.

As a reader, you play a crucial role in determining the reliability and validity of a website.

1. Authorship/ Authority – The website should be published by a recognized medical entity, such as a hospital, federal agency, medically related organization, or medical college. Consider whether the organization has expertise in the content area. Is a specific author identified? Many sites with reputable authors will include the author’s name, biographical, and contact information.

Beware of medical-related websites published by a drug company or an entity that promotes a specific product or service. These websites are often single-focused and have detailed advertisements for their services. Service and product websites have “sponsored” before the link to their sites.

2. Current information /timeliness – A preferable website regularly updates its information and should also have a publication date. Check to see how recently the information was published and updated.

3. Objectivity – Consider the site’s purpose. Is the information presented to sell a product or service or to inform the public? Does the site promote an idea or opinion of a person or group? A reputable site

presents information that does not promote a product, medication, or viewpoint of a single person or entity. Search similar sites to see if the information is repeated or comparable.

4. References – Creditable information from a reliable source should be presented based on research. Reliable websites produce references and citations to support the information provided, indicating that the information is based on research.

5. Professionalism – Professional websites should be free of grammatical or spelling errors.

Exercise caution when you view websites that present miracle cures for various disorders. Do these pages advertise ‘breakthrough’ remedies that claim to cure a range of disorders or rely on a ‘secret’ ingredient? If the information seems too good to be true, it likely is. Remember, your health is precious, and it’s important to approach such claims with a healthy dose of skepticism.

The Internet provides quick access to health information. But you need to be able to tell the difference between the good sites and the bad. Asking these questions will help you find quality health information online and avoid making health care decisions based on misinformation. However, there is no guarantee that the information will be perfect. Online information is not a substitute for medical advice from your healthcare provider. What you learn online may not be suitable for you. Always talk with your provider before following any advice that you find online.

He Hears and Answers – Isaiah 65:24

Pastor Patricia

Saulsbury

Let us remember those today that are grieving, are poor in spirit, and are experiencing true lack. There are many who are jobless, due to no fault of their own, and they have no means of providing either a special Christmas meal or gifts for their children. We can’t possibly help them all, but as we can, let’s do something. If praying is all we can offer, let’s do that sincerely and out of hearts filled with

compassion. James 5:16 says the effectual, fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much.

Father God, we pray today for our Brothers and Sisters who are grieving. We ask that You will lift up the hung down heads. We ask that You will comfort them as only You can. We ask that You will touch the hearts of men and women near them causing them to reach out, in love, to show them that they are not forgotten.

Father, we also pray for those who are experiencing lack and are at the brink of depression because of it. They’re feeling like they’ve failed because they’re unable to provide this Christmas for their families. We ask that You use us, Your church, to be Your arms of love by reaching out to this group of people. Use us, Your church, to help them to the best of our ability. Fill our hearts with compassion, helping us to realize that except for Your grace, it could have been us in this very same plight. Father, Your Word says in Isaiah 65:24, “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

Thank You, Father, for hearing and answering our effectual, fervent prayers for our Brothers and Sisters.

Amen and amen.

Tip 1

If you want to know what really matters to you, take a look at where most of your money and time go. The Bible tells us that our heart follows our treasure. Budgeting is a tool that can help you be intentional about where your money is going and what you value most.

Tip 2

Have you ever frustrated yourself by your own actions? Like, you knew what you should do, and you even wanted to do it, but you did something else instead? I certainly have! Returning to this verse, Philippians 2:13, always helps remind me- I can’t do all the right things on my own. I need help! Thankfully, God’s Spirit gives us both the desire and the strength to do what pleases God and what is according to His good purpose. It is God’s desire for us to properly manage everything He blesses us with, so His Spirit helps us accomplish it. Rely on Him!

Tip 3

Many parents are unsure about where or when to start when it comes to teaching their kids about money. Thankfully, there is help! Here are some great books that can guide you as you educate your kids. No matter what age, there are financial principles you can begin instilling in the minds of your children so they can be set up for success. #books #reading #educateyourself
