CELEBRATING OURVISIONARY
Lifting people to a higher dimension, begins with great leaders who pave the way and create the space to facilitate this process. This year, we pause to celebrate a visionary; Bishop S. Robert Stewart, who had the vision to take Apostolic youth to a higher dimension. In 1999, he was one of the founding fathers of this movement that today we know as Apostolic Camp International (ACI).
Bishop Stewart spent his life loving God and by extension loving people. His love transcended generations, as he made everyone who came in contact with him feel special. His desire to empower and uplift others, became the propellant for this immersive, Christ-centered program. The strategic design of ACI has been far reaching, and has undoubtedly impacted countless lives throughout the years.
Bishop Stewart was a father, a Friend, a Worshiper, a Servant, a Pastor and a Leader. He exemplified the spirit of excellence in all his endeavors and encouraged young people to do the same. Whether he was driving the bus or teaching, chastising or encouraging, or raising a chorus to lift our spirits, everything he did was done with love. He truly embodied showing the all-encompassing love of God across cultures, across communities, and across generations. As a mentor and a leader, Bishop Stewart imparted qualities that helped to channel the passion, strengths, and values of those he led.
Collaboration was one of Bishop Stewarts strong suits. He forged partnerships with other leaders to ensure that ACI would be a success. The goal of ensuring that ACI would be far reaching was accomplished through the relationships that were developed across the globe. The alliances he formed with other Pastors and leaders was the catalyst that made ACI international.
Bishop Stewart made room for every young person to feel like they belonged. He was a mastermind at identifying the value in people and encouraged everyone to use their giftings to have an impact both in the church and in the community. His goal was always to position young people to be world changers by equipping them and empowering them to embody Christlike character, Holy living, and strong Christian values.
Our Bishop was a light carrier who illuminated spaces and drew people to him. He thought outside the box, dreamt big, and did whatever was necessary to transform dreams to reality. ACI is a big part of his legacy because it was, and continues to be, one of the avenues by which young people are empowered. Thousands of lives have been transformed because of his investment of time and resources. His fervor resulted in partnerships with other leaders who carried the vision forward and now, twenty-five years later, Apostolic Camp International remains one of the summer’s most anticipated events.
Bishop S. Robert Stewart was a legend whose intentional pursuit to enhance lives left an indelible mark on so many. Apostolic Camp International is eternally grateful for the trail he blazed! We will continue to carry out the mission of “Taking Apostolic Youth to a Higher Dimension”, and we will ensure that this vision and mission never dies.
UNDER STANDING THE THEME
FREE TO LIVE! BOUND TO SERVE
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
Galations 5:1 & 13
The scripture directly deals with the ‘yoke of bondage’ which is the law and being a slave to something that could not set us free from sin. However, that yoke is broken and we are free in Christ, it affords us liberty in every area of our lives as we have the power - through Christ, to live above sin and not to return to legalism. The freedom can be explored in this context but also the freedom to live wholesome, purposeful, joyful lives because we are free from sin.
In 1999, 30 pastors assembled to cast division for a summer program that would cater to the spiritual needs of youth in the South Florida region. From this meeting, Florida Apostolic Camp was born.
FAC was designed to foster unity, increase fellowship, and enhance the spiritual development of Apostolic youth in an annual summer retreat setting. Youth camp quickly became a summer tradition for families from churches throughout the United States Canada, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom. By 2001 the reaching effects of FAC was unquestionable. The leadership of FAC realized that this vision could no longer be limited to age or location. It was then that Florida apostolic camp became Apostolic Camp International (ACI).
ACI is strategically designed to position youth to positively impact the global community, empowering them to demonstrate core Christian values, while possessing a Christ-centered character. This is achieved through balanced programs, opportunities for fellowship, teaching,
preaching, and spiritual growth that is grounded in the word of God.
This year we celebrate 25 years of hosting ACI. Since the beginning, the mission has remained the same; “Taking Apostolic Youth to a Higher Dimension!” Over the years, ACI has served numerous campers from approximately 140 assemblies, and over 500 souls have received the gift of the Holy Ghost during camp.
In 2024 as we reflect on Significant changes that have taken place in our society, we recognize that engagement of our Youth is not only pivotal but essential. As we commit
to going higher, we recognize that as children of God, we have a mandate as long as we are alive, to serve both in the body of Christ and the world at large.
As we gather under the theme “Free to Live! Bound to Serve”, our goal is to reflect on the freedom of a life transformed by Jesus Christ, and serving like He did, all for the Glory of God.
WELCOME
FROM YOUR CAMP DIRECTOR
The wait is over! The summer’s most anticipated event – APOSTOLIC CAMP INTERNATIONAL, is here! Welcome to the beautiful grounds of Valdosta State University, this year’s home for ACI, where we will take this week to recharge, grow, fellowship, and explore what it means to be in service to
Elbert Hubbard, an American writer stated that, “Responsibility is the price of freedom.” While we have been granted the opportunity of freedom in Christ Jesus, we are also mandated the responsibility to serve. The ACI staff has planned a variety of enriching activities, heartfelt worship sessions, and opportunities for personal growth that will allow us to explore the theme – FREE TO LIVE! BOUND TO SERVE. Whether you are a seasoned camper or attending for the first time, we invite you to embrace everything the week offers with open hearts and
We believe your experience at ACI this year will be joyous and life-changing. If there is anything further we can do to facilitate this, please do not hesitate to contact an ACI staff member.

MAXWELL PASTOR DANIEL SPEAKERS
Pastor Daniel Maxwell is founder of Lighthouse of Christ Apostolic Church in Winter Haven Florida.
After several years of evangelism in Central FL, Maxwell felt called to establish a local mission in 2014. Inspired by images of lighthouses, he named the mission Lighthouse of Christ. Even though he was hesitant, Pastor Maxwell prayed for confirmation and received it through three women who also provided financial support to secure a building. On March 1, 2015, he opened the church with six people. As the ministry grew, Pastor Maxwell moved the church to a new location in August 2016, where they held their first service in October 2016. The church now has a diverse and devoted congregation, aiming to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing Christ’s
KELLY SIS. NIA
Sister Nia Kelly, is married to husband Daniel and is the mother of Five children.
For more than 10 years, Nia S. Kelly has been using her gifts to lead people towards a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.
As a teacher, she desires those who hear her to experience clarity of purpose and renewed passion.
As a worshipper, she desires to lead those who hear her into the presence of God so they can experience an intimate, life-changing encounter with their Savior.
In addition to singing, Nia also released a book entitled, Broken by Him. Similar to book Broken by Him is Nia’s chronicled journey through years of abuse and depression into a state of healing. It reveals some sobering truths from her past that brought her to the feet of Jesus in repentance.
With all that Nia has achieved, it is her greatest honor to reflect the glory of God through all she does so someone will ask as they did in the Book of Acts, “What must I do to be Saved?”
So whether she is serving her family, singing, teaching, preaching or writing it is all for God’s Glory.

This year ACI would like to pay tribute to Donna Bryan. She was an extraordinary camper if ever there was one. Donna would be the first camper to register every year. The moment we had a date announced, she would ”set down her name” and make a payment with whatever dollar amount she had at the time. Whether it was one dollar or ten dollars, Donna would consistently make payments until her balance was completely paid. The staff knew she would have the longest ledger because her payments were made whenever she had the money to pay it.
Donna was not your average camper. Yes, she did come for the fun and the fellowship. However, she never hesitated to volunteer in whatever area she could. She would volunteer to help the staff in the office, as a cafeteria monitor, and would even make sure trash was picked up if ever a camper left their garbage behind. Her favorite place to volunteer was in kinder camp. Donna made herself available to help with supervising our youngest campers and would clean up behind them when activities were complete. She showed up on time and never neglected her post even when she was not feeling well.
Donna will not be with us this year, and she will surely be missed. The impact she had on campers and the camp staff will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Donna … gone, but not forgotten.
