YOU DECORATED My Life Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. Proverbs 18:22 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Proverbs 31: 10-12

SING Unto The Lord

IN THE GREAT TRIUMPHANT MORNING In the great triumphant morning, When we hear the Bridegroom cry, And the dead in Christ shall rise, We’ll be changed to life immortal, In the twinkling of an eye, And meet Jesus in the skies.

Chorus We shall all rise to meet Him, We shall all rise to greet Him, In the morning when the dead in Christ shall rise We shall all rise to meet Him, We shall all rise to greet Him, And shall have the marriage supper in the skies. In the great triumphant morning, What a happy time ’twill be, When the dead in Christ shall rise, When the Lord descends in glory, Sets His waiting children free, And we meet Him in the skies. [Chorus] In the great triumphant morning, When the harvest is complete, And the dead in Christ shall rise, We’ll be crowned with life immortal, Christ and all the loved ones meet, In the rapture in the skies. [Chorus] In the great triumphant morning, All the kingdom we’ll possess, Then the dead in Christ shall rise, Reign as kings and priests eternal, Under Christ forever blest, After meeting in the skies. [Chorus]

GOING UP YONDER If you want to know Where I’m going? Where I’m going, soon If anybody ask you Where I’m going Where I’m going soon I’m goin’ up yonder I’m goin’ up yonder I’m goin’ up yonder To be with my Lord I can take the pain The heartaches they bring The comfort in knowing I’ll soon be gone As God gives me grace I’ll run this race Until I see my Savior Face to face I’m goin’ up yonder I’m goin’ up yonder I’m goin’ up yonder To be with my Lord I’m goin’ up yonder I’m goin’ up yonder I’m goin’ up yonder To be with my Lord

WHEN THEY RING THE GOLDEN BELLS There’s a land beyond the river, That we call the sweet forever, And we only reach that shore by faith’s decree; One by one we’ll gain the portals, There to dwell with the immortals, When they ring the golden bells for you and me. Chorus Don’t you hear the bells now ringing? Don’t you hear the angels singing? ’Tis the glory hallelujah Jubilee. In that far-off sweet forever, Just beyond the shining river, When they ring the golden bells for you and me.

We shall know no sin or sorrow, In that haven of tomorrow, When our barque shall sail beyond the silver sea; We shall only know the blessing Of our Father’s sweet caressing, When they ring the golden bells for you and me. [Chorus] When our days shall know their number, And in death we sweetly slumber, When the King commands the spirit to be free; Nevermore with anguish laden, We shall reach that lovely Eden, When they ring the golden bells for you and me. [Chorus]

FOND Memories

T

o my dear sister who I am going to miss so dearly. A fond memory I have of us was when we were children. My sister would take on the role of guarding and looking after me and our brothers and sisters as our parents were away from home due to their responsibilities for work. She truly took on the role as the older sister that many dream of. She frequently reminded me that when I was a baby I didn’t have much hair on my head; she would comb the little bit of hair I had and added a bow and ribbon so I would look presentable for my baby pictures. This was the kind of person my sister was - caring, compassionate, and loving. I know the most challenging part of her passing will be me moving forward as we have shared so many great conversations over the years about our family and lives. Sister Cynthia’s spirit will be missed by many as she has impacted and touched so many souls throughout her life. Jennifer Rowe – sister

W

hat wonderful work: As we celebrate the life of our blessed Sister Cynthia Davis, we just want to offer our warmest wishes to the family and friends, our Brother - Pastor Davis and their six children and grandchildren. May the loving memories of her continue to linger in our hearts until we reunite in the ‘Sweet By and By.’ God bless you all and may her soul rest in peace. Sister Davis will always be remembered as a good fighter and a great friend. We love you. God bless you. Pastor Davis’ Siblings and families.

MY ROYAL Highness

Excerpts from a personal tribute presented to Cynthia Davis by husband J.P. Davis

Y

ou have been a wife in deed and a wife in need. All praise, glory, thanks and honor be unto the Lord Jesus Christ, who has given me such as wife as you my dear. I truly thank God who has given me the spirit of a committed mind when I thought of making you my wife. God had the same compassion for me as He did for Adam when He said it was not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a help meet (Genesis 2:18). Surely you were made by God just for me.

I look back to the days when you were juggling and hustling from Kingston to Ocho Rios seeking to make provision for us and the children without murmuring and complaining. You are that virtuous woman spoken of in Proverbs 31:1031. You have been like a merchant ship, you bring food from afar. You never stopped on the island of Jamaica but you went far out, not just for yourself but for your family and today you can see it was worth it all. You have spent your life for your family, we truly thank you for caring so much. You cared for my ministry. Because of the failure in other ministers, it made you curious about women around me. This made me very careful how I moved around women. You have never stood in the way of my ministry. I can never forget those years when I went away from home, preaching for the week not knowing whether or not you would be taken in to have our baby. You have been a woman of faith. We did not have telephone in those days to keep in touch with each other. When I think of these things I have reasons to love you then and today I love you more. You made the first electric guitar to play in the church at Benbow; our son Paul played it. You did banquets in New York to raise funds for the church in Jamaica; you are a woman of substance – God bless you. The house and the church looked good because of you. You made me to stand tall among the ministers of Jesus Christ. You made my heart glad and still today it is still glad. Your cooking is wonderful… the nutritious drinks you made for me I can still feel moving in my body… you allowed me to wear the best suits… and the half has not been told. The children join with me and we salute you as we bestow upon you the Medal of Honor, a woman of substance. You are our most honorable Cynthia Davis. I thank God for you. You are my Royal highness; I love you.

REMEMBERING Mother Davis

C

ynthia Davis Nee Barr, was born March 25, 1944 to Stanly Barr and Francis Hutton at Alman Town, Kingston, Jamaica. She attended primary school in Kingston. At the age of thirteen, Cynthia accepted the faith that was once delivered unto the saints according to Acts 2:38, and was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Ghost. She received this precious Gift at the United Pentecostal Church (UPC) at Pentecostal Tabernacle located at 66 Wildman Street, Kingston, Jamaica.

Sis. Barr continued a faithful believer among the young people of the church, but was closely attached to the elderly saints of the assembly. In 1962, her life took on a change as she lost her father who was killed in a truck accident. Sis. Cynthia did not know that one of the young bible students at that time stated that “he would like to be a father to her…” That young Bible student was Joscelyn Davis. On December 21, 1963, she was united in holy matrimony with Joscelyn Davis; who was appointed pastor of the Way Truth & Life Tabernacle, Benbow UPC of Jamaica. The union produced six children; five princesses and one prince. Sister Davis labored faithfully with her husband and pastor of the church both spiritually and literally. She was known as a great hustler both for the church and the well-being of her family. Sis. Davis hustled from Jamaica to the United States. In 1988, she brought her family to America, but still continued to support the church in Jamaica. Sis. Davis was diagnosed with diabetes. Despite great care over the years, her condition got worse. In 2006, her right leg was amputated. During this time she lived in New York with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jermaine Bell who provided the tender loving care she needed. In 2007 she moved to Florida where another daughter and son-in-law, Joan (Andrea) and Donald Bryan, became primary caregivers. Five years later in 2012 she and her husband moved to their home in Tamarac. Pastor J.P. Davis lived out his vow “in sickness and in health” as he tenderly cared for his wife with the help of children Paul, Joan, and Jennifer. In 2014, she had a kidney transplant, but normalcy for her life never materialized. On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 7:58am, her journey ended. To share her loss, Sis Cynthia has left behind: her husband and pastor, J.P. Davis; six children: Andrea Joan Bryan, Sandra Anderson, Paul Davis, Ruth Dempster, Alicia Sharon Bell and Jennifer Gilzene; nine grandchildren: Jessica, Ashley & Julian Davis, Edward & Preston Anderson, Ruth-Ann & Esther Dempster, Alicia and Jermaine Jeremiah (JJ) Bell; brother: George Barr; sister: Jennifer Rowe; daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and church family in the United States and Jamaica.

Sleep on and take your rest. We love you.

A LETTER FROM

Heaven

When tomorrow starts without me And I’m not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes Filled with tears for me… I wish so much you wouldn’t cry The way you did today While thinking of the many things We didn’t get to say I know how much you love me As much as I love you And each time you think of me I know you’ll miss me too When tomorrow starts without me Don’t think we’re far apart For every time you think of me I’m right there in your heart

REMEMBER Me Don’t remember me with sadness Don’t remember me with tears Remember all the laughter We’ve shared throughout the years. Now I am contented That my life it was worthwhile Knowing that I passed along the way I made somebody smile. When you are walking down the street And you’ve got me on your mind I’m walking in your footsteps Only half a step behind. So please don’t be unhappy Just because I am out of sight Remember that I’m with you Each morning, noon and night.

Just when you think you know all love is…

ALONG CAME GRANDCHILDREN.

We Have Come This Far By Faith Leaning on the Lord

December 21, 1963 - 54 years I just want to say… “Thank you Lord, for the marvelous things you have done.”

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalms 116: 7 & 15
