PSALM
I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.
Down through the years, God has been good to me.
I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.
Down through the years, God has been good to me.

My beloved mother, my Mama, aka “Aunt Dor” was a strong woman of God and worked hard to provide for her children. No matter my age, she always cooked and cared for me when we were together. Aunt Dor taught me to have a positive outlook on life and to spend many hours communing with God before getting the day started. I knew not to disturb her until after 11a.m. I would often hear her voicemail say, “it’s a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord most high” which was one of her favorite scriptures.
Aunt Dor would not leave the house without looking her best and would of ten take hours to get ready. I could always expect her to firmly tell me, “gal nuh rush mi!” I remember she would jump and praise God through sickness and pain. She was a faithful and devoted servant to God.
Aunt Dor, you have run a good race. I love you and will carry your love in my heart forever.
Sharon Jackson - DaughterThere are many things I’ll remember about my mom. How soft her hands were, how her eyes sparkled, how her smile lit up her entire face. I’ll remember the hearty sound of her laugh, and the tone of her voice when someone disappointed her. But most of all, I’ll remember how I felt when she said to me, “I love you.” That was the best feeling in the world, to know this very special woman loved me with all her heart. Of all the memories that may dim in the coming years, that feeling is something I know I’ll never forget. And I just want to say, I love you too, Mom.
Daughter Wendy Hylton“Children are a heritage from the Lord.”
Nothing is hidden from God’s sight, Nothing is greater than God’s love, Nothing is stronger than God’s mercy and grace, Nothing is too hard for God’s power.
Dear God please strengthen me to meet the challenges I face each day in my life. Lord Jesus, please open my mind so that I can understand the scriptures and to seek the wisdom and power of the scriptures.

This Is Just What Heaven Means to Me Please note that due to Covid-19, there will be no repast here at the church or at the family home.
Death hath no terrors for the blood bought one, O glory hallelujah to the Lamb! The boasted victory of the grave is gone, O glory hallelujah to the Lamb!
Jesus rose from the dead, Rose triumphant as he said, Snatched the victory from the grave, Rose again our souls to save O glory hallelujah to the Lamb!
We seek a city far beyond this vale, O glory hallelujah to the Lamb!
Where joys celestial never, never fail, O glory hallelujah to the Lamb!
We’ll rise some day just as our Saviour rose, O glory hallelujah to the Lamb! Till then shall death be but a calm repose, O glory hallelujah to the Lamb!
A country where no twilight shadows deepen Unending days where night will never be A city where no storms will ever gather Ohh, this is just what Heaven means to me
What will it be when we get over yonder And join the throng upon the glassy sea? Will join our loved ones and crown Christ forever Oh, this is just what Heaven means to me
See, it’s a place where there is no misunderstanding Out there from all enmity and strife we’ll be free There no unkind words that wound the heart are spoken And this is just what Heaven means to me
Refrain (repeat) Oh, this is just what Heaven means to me
On behalf of Lynn, Dolly, Joyce and Oslin, it is an honor and a privilege to write a tribute to Dorothy Richardson, (affectionately known as Aunt Dor), a sister, a mother, and a grandmother.
She was strong, committed, faithful, and a good soldier who endured hardness in the grace of God. Thank God for the life that she lived in Christ.
Sleep on! To live is Christ and to die is gain. We love you with all our hearts. It is well!
Oslin, Dolly, Joyce and Lynn

Dorothy Richardson, my mother-in-law, was a god-fearing woman who sought to please the Lord in all her endeavors. She embraced life positively and made the best of every opportunity that came her way. Mama was a spicy woman with a good sense of humor and I often shared many laughs with her.
Death may take a lot of things but never the fun and joy your memory brings. I will always have a part of you with me through my husband and children who are as daring as you.
You were a true example of what a genuine mother, grandmother and friend should be. Your banana breads will be missed, however your love for family will live on.
What we have once enjoyed deeply, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
You will always be in my heart❤ Cadean Deer: Daughter-in-law
You could say it was a blessing in disguise, that through a friendship formed some 38 years ago, I became a part of mama’s (Aunt Dor’s) family. As they would say, ‘a daughter from another mother’. My small family became a part of this larger loving, caring, and down to earth family. Aunt Dor was the strong, iron will power, and determined woman at the helm. She taught us that with hard work, success will be achieved. She never forgot where she came from and was always humble. Aunt Dor you will be forever in our hearts.
Sleep on, take your rest, God calls home the best.
Nuff love - Sharon Mullings
Mama, a small woman of stature but she had a gigantic heart. A woman of faith who put others first. She loved her family and friends deeply. She was the bond that held us together no matter how far the distance.
Love you Mama, miss you dearly. Ricardo Griffiths - Grandson
To the best grandmother in the world!
I had the best gift of living with Mama the majority of my life. During those years she taught me how to pray, spend time with God, and memorize scriptures that would get me through some hard times in my life. She also taught me to never cough around her unless I wanted to get a tablespoon of Buckleys!
Mama welcomed my husband Alex with open arms and loved him as her own kid. She considered my friends her kids as well and always greeted them with BIG kisses!! I’m going to miss hearing, “Whappen mi pickney!” when we speak on the phone and her infamous banana bread. Mama was the walking example of the love of God. I will honor her memory by passing down what she taught me to my children.
Mama, I love you forever!
Jenniel McFarlane - Granddaughter
To a daughter of the soil, Dorothy Richardson, affectionately called: Dar-Dar, Dorothy, GPS, Mama, Shilling Pan, Baker Lady, Fish fry Lady, my friend and sister.
I remember Dorothy to be a true friend, a confidant, a sister, a prayer warrior, and a giver. She was one that I could count on to always encourage and uplift my spirit every time we spoke or saw each other.
Dorothy knew and loved to pray. Please don’t ask her to bless the meal, there would be a whole prayer meeting. We spent countless nights and mornings praying as she put her family and friends before the Lord. She was authentic, there was nothing fake about her and what you saw, was what you got, take it or leave it. Dorothy was special and was always kind. We shared much laughter and spent many times together.
She would say, “Gerzel, weh yuh deh, Yuh nah cum get yuh porridge?” These were some of the very special moments we shared. “Gerzel, yuh, think yuh a go tek weh Omar from mi, ah kick yuh ina yuh shilling pan!” “Gerzel, No Pickney nah rule mi”! Gerzel Hyman

I am so glad for the day that I came seeking relief for my soul, Jesus the savior gave me a new name and life, now by His grace I am made whole.
